***A quick note to add before beginning today and that is this. 34 years ago this month is when I started a workout routine. I mention it because when I started, it was during the ‘92 Winter Olympics. Now, we are having these current Olympics so it comes to my mind more frequently then. That story has been shared many times on here, but the Olympics was our connector on that today.
Moving forward, the spotlight is on a few topics today warriors so let’s shine your light bright. You will see that WWF Spotlight magazine with Ultimate Warrior on the cover. I had remembered this publication as well and knew Warrior was featured. That cover has circulated for years, and I totally recall them showing the latest issue “ now on newsstands”with the syndicated shows. I decided to finally use it as a photo despite him looking super serious. It brought a topic my way, so spotlighting it is. A few days from now is Valentine’s Day so get geared up for all the love. My husband and I got engaged 💍 on that holiday as many may know and this year marks 25! That is quite the milestone as I’ve shared the story on here. Even if you don’t celebrate, date yourself or do something fun anyways. We all deserve love however it comes our way. We plan on honoring the Cheesecake Factory gift card received at Christmas so I am excited for that! 💘❤️💜🤍
Another quick note to mention is that the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX so another great milestone! I usually don’t mention other sports a lot on here (besides recently,) but yet another team one that rarely wins so I am always for them. The last reason I will mention them winning is this. Their last championship was 12 years ago in 2014 so you fans know why I give that a mention today. Well deserved Seahawks! 🏈🩵💚
Moving forward, “ The Ultimate Truth” podcast shared the Spotlight numerous times with Steve Wilton as more will be discussed soon. Check them all out if you are interested as he discusses Warrior’s HOF induction, his final RAW speech, and life after working as the Ultimate’s manager. Steve shares personal stories with fans and laughs included as well. I enjoy them all and thank the guys for spotlighting Warrior’s truth in a much needed way. I wish I could link an episode but I’m unable to do that as I’ve tried several ways… hmmm… Guess you just need to head on over to YouTube and search it up. I will keep trying though.
OK, then, let’s get into sharing that spotlight a little more. Is that a concept you do well or is it one that you tend to dislike? I think with me it varies based on the entire situation. With wrestling, tag teams need to share that spotlight but of course very different with singles competitors. Hulk Hogan loved the spotlight , Warrior not in so many ways. Did Hulk like sharing that spotlight?, Not entirely I believe even though business decisions needed to be made. Did Warrior like sharing the spotlight? What I mean by all this is if they accepted when another would attain that high status of being at the top but THEN concede to another’s victory. So, I need to answer about Warrior here. I do know he did not feel it necessary to always have a belt, but getting to that level was his goal. Once the belt or title is upon you, then what? Are you OK with dropping it after a bit or do you want that position to remain a while? I truly believe it all depended upon who a possible opponent would be as many of the guys did not want to relinquish to just anybody, at least without certain conditions being met.
I just wanted to show the two top good guys in Hulk and Warrior anticipating sharing a spotlight and how they differ somewhat with that attention. Hulk was the champ for so long, it became part of him as his natural in a way. Despite that spotlight, he still wanted the friendship with guys like they all were on the same “team” if you will. Warrior never truly craved that spotlight in the same manner as Hulk, but it goes with the territory of wrestling. It’s all on how one handles that spotlight that matters. Warrior wanted his own way of being in the spotlight as that became very evident post wrestling as well. His idea of a spotlight meant more than the life of a pro wrestler. Some will always crave it, others might~~~ but then it fades. Which type are you?
I loved being cheered when performing in high school choir with that spotlight ahead. Who wouldn’t love a standing ovation after months of hard work? That is similar to the wrestlers. I also love receiving compliments and views on the work I am bringing forth to all of you as that spotlight means the world. Do I want or need 1 million lights on me? Nope, not at all but some do and that’s their right. I bet you all can think of a moment or perhaps several where you were in that spotlight or had to share with another. I know those compliments I receive aren’t technically sharing the spotlight but I do applaud those willing to bring their experiences to the world in their own way.
It can become difficult if you’ve been working on a project and another is set to best you in some fashion. Would you be OK with allowing them by stepping aside or would you be willing to share that spotlight? It is interesting to consider indeed, as perhaps you dislike that person which will then make your response easier. There will be those times when we will need to concede to someone at attaining status we have already received. Family members, friends, and coworkers are much about that spotlight as it truly begins in early childhood for sure. I’ll have to ponder this whole spotlight question in my life from now on when a situation arises. I won’t ever be in that degree of a pro athlete but in other areas, it does creep in sometimes. I started teaching little kids long before my sisters did. They continue in that field today as I do not. I never had to share a workspace with them for a spotlight but as family, I did get a little resentful back then. After all, they copied, right? It was my career. Those feelings are long gone but they crept in like that slithering snake Damien, ha ha! (For any wondering~~~that was the name of Jake Roberts’s snake! 🐍)
So readers, you can share a spotlight on this love holiday or go in alone. You can enjoy watching those podcast guy share a spotlight on Warrior in a positive way. You can even share a spotlight on those who have achieved what you could not and that’s the hardest idea. Warrior became his own spotlight which worked best for him but was able to leave that light behind to start a new one. Can you share a spotlight? Take some time to figure that one out. Be a spotlight and let others shine theirs…
P.S. I DID find a few links on the UW fb page. Here is one from the podcast: “ Ultimate Warrior manager speaks out.”
