Yes, I realize it’s a loooong title but happy May readers! It’s moving month for us but not until later on and we might need a couple of extra days. My daughter’s birthday is also at the end of May so we shall see how the weeks go. Shortly, I will not have a teen any longer. My kids are growing as they all eventually do. 🥹 So grateful we found a home that suits us but it’s all the paperwork giving me headaches, ugh! 😩 I will have lived here a milestone around Memorial Day. It will be 25 years. How about that? It’s very emotional 🥲 leaving, but is time as I have had more opportunities to process than my family has. I’m super excited about our new place though and my husband wants a shed so some updates are coming…
Let’s talk photos a minute here. Remember me saying how quite possibly I would try and use the one with a young bodybuilder named Jim Hellwig meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger? Well, I do have that pic but a guy is right in the middle so kinda hard blurring him out. If he was on either side of those men, it would be easier. Don’t want a blurred blob in the center. Sure, I can leave him in the photo but nah~~~ not going to so you won’t see that pic on here. I’m not techy enough to take him out of the photo. My camera doesn’t have that option. ~~~ Next, what you WILL see is a super used photo of Warrior from his WCW days. It has circulated much over the years and I thought it was used before but nope, I had a black-and-white. It’s a little different too.
Moving on, (pun intended!) to other news. I was overwhelmed yet again it seems as one regular guy caller on the 80s wrestling podcast really wants ME to have an opportunity cohosting the show! WHAT, lil ol’ me??? What an honor as sometimes one of the hosts flies solo. I was flattered and the hosts loved the idea. We’ll see if it goes anywhere but I would if truly asked. My only criteria would be a topic I can actually contribute to and not just be a “female prop” in a way for ratings. This warrior girl needs to stand her ground and I will, if needed. They do need some women involved in the show and I’m educated enough without being biased. It sounds exciting!!! If I get that chance, I’ll keep you all posted.
Next, did any of you readers watch the Netflix documentary “ Hulk Hogan: Real American?” Well, read no further if not wanting any spoilers. OK, just one specific area and if not for it~~~ I would not be sharing today. Sure, I can go on and on but then it wouldn’t be my WARRIOR writings, correct? All right~~~ so here’s my rant. First off, it’s the usual “suspects” of interviewees on all these docs with perhaps a few additions mixed in. Did I have a pretty good feeling the Ultimate Warrior character would be trashed? Yep, I did only not quite in the way I expected. You see, it was Hulk’s ex Linda whose comments got to me. Fine, she didn’t like Warrior, but WHO CARES? I heard a rumor, (but it’s probably true because it came from Warrior) how Linda used to “offer” herself to the guys on the road away from their wives. With all the coke parties and such going on, I’m sure that happened. Warrior refused so that could’ve led to her reactions being what they were.
Answer me * THIS* fans? Do you think the general public of wrestling folks give a crap what the guys’s wives think or thought of their opponents? Yes, they do discuss it all with their spouses (or did,) including storylines, angles, matches, and all that so she could be entitled to her opinion or even side with her husband on his. Seriously though, I doubt the guys ever gave a F*CK what Hogan’s wife or any wife for that matter thought of them. It was obvious Linda was asked what she thought of Warrior and answered. Excuse my language, but I feel that way for ALL of them on this and not just Warrior of course. Do you agree with me? That part on episode 2 made me irate, I wanted to shake my own ropes!!! Despite what most usually say about the character of UW, he WAS a bigger draw than Hulk at one time as there’s proof on this. Sure, his personality became “difficult” for them but they act like Warrior did NOTHING for WWF ever and was a waste. How sad to still be so bitter and jealous after all these years. 🤬😠🙄
I will leave it at that as you won’t read any more “swearing” from me on this again. I honestly don’t want them making any more docs on Warrior either as I hope they don’t. It’s all for ratings and money anyway with some truths, but never all. I’m just grateful to know MORE that actually took place and not others twisted versions of what they were shown to be true.
Well, TRUE readers, that’s the news for now starting off this month of yet more busy times and days ahead. My son is almost done with year 4 at college! He will commute next year as he needs another term, but it will be nicer being a little closer to where both kids will be going to school. I hope you all are doing well as summer will arrive here soon enough! I will miss our pool but life “moves” forward as it will for us all in many ways. Enjoy this day warriors!
P.S. Also, am I forever grateful always Warrior never had a family while on the road. He would’ve left the business for sure. Wrestling was part of his life, not ALL of it like the other “lifers” or so it seemed… 🧡💛
