Saints and Scary Stuff šŸ™šŸ»šŸ˜±šŸŽƒ

Tomorrow is Halloween or All Hallows Eve if you prefer. That was always such a busy time when I was younger. The reasons being that day or night really, and the next few days as well. November 1 is All Saints Day and the 2nd celebrates All Souls. Of course those are Christian holidays, but ones we recognized when growing up. Being in 1st grade was when we dress up as our ā€œpatronā€ Saint or one you’d be named after. Yes, us Catholics were named after Saints. It can even be your middle name. Mine is both. I did not purposely continue that tradition with my kids, but it just so happens their middle names are Saints. Well, I was Saint Catherine of Siena (which is a town in Italy) and I totally remember. I bet my old grade school still does that while singing ā€œ When the Saints Come Marching Inā€ at Mass. Such a cute fun time.

This post is supposed to be scary stuff though! I just wanted to reflect on some nostalgia. Many cultures have traditions different than ours as Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is all about parades, parties, and dancing to remember those loved ones who have passed on. The Warrior family acknowledged this being in New Mexico. Here, it’s mostly about the spooky and all that. I still love the cute Halloween costumes or seeing the littles but nowadays~~~ it’s more with scaring the living daylights out of everyone! That isn’t for me. As a teacher, we could never wear or use anything that would frighten a child. I was a clown once 🤔 but didn’t paint my face. I just had a red wig and nose, and that still scared a few! I would tell them: ā€œ it’s just Miss Kathy!ā€ This is back when clowns were remembered for being in the circus and not horror movies. They were considered good and happy…. Maybe you all have read my cat claws story or those times I was more boy costumes. My favorite was Sleeping Beauty. That was when I was a teacher as well. I bet you all have your own costume stories to tell too.

I never even went to haunted houses at all as my friends didn’t either. I’ve also said how horror movies or anything similar is not and will never be for me. My daughter loves some of it though. It affects me way too much despite it not being real. Hey, that sounds familiar! Great lead into some of Ultimate Warrior’s opponents. 2ļøāƒ£ come to mine for me. I bet you fans can guess., Of course it would be The Undertaker and Papa Shango. Even though I was older, they still scared me~~~ fake or not. They still would’ve even if Warrior would not have faced them, but obviously not in the same way. There were many other SCARY wrestlers over the years and some just frustrated me. I used to love clowns as a kid like my costume when teaching. I had two clown dolls when I was a girl and one I ordered through a catalog. Horror movies and Doink the Clown ruined the fun aspect of them. I loved dolls too and then they also got put into horror films. UGH… I dislike it! What happened? Why do people like fright so much?

I’ll move onto a scary moment for me 5 years ago yesterday. And, it was a Tuesday just like this year. It has been written but a very unpleasant night for me right before Halloween. I won’t tell the whole story, but it started to happen October 29 when I was carving a pumpkin. My heartbeat went from rapid to very extreme. Thank goodness I was able to make it through my son’s Fall Band Concert before going to the ER that night. No medical issues were detected so that was great news. No one could feel it except me… The following week, my psychic medium friend helped out a lot as yes~~~ I believed. I did not go to her for that reason, but it kind of turned into that as I really needed some other kind of help. Even my husband became more of a believer during that time… BTW, 5 years prior to the day in 2013 WWE released 2K 14 in the US as I will always remember. Yeah, that date again. That was quite a frightful time in 2019 as I felt my heart literally beating out of my chest. It became the beginning of many spiritual gifts opening for me which I was unaware of back then. I had a few other scary moments which then culminated in my ulcer a few years later, but yes folks~~~ it all connects. It’s similar to my girl’s topics with her paper of last week.

Back to this holiday, how do you all celebrate? Is it full of Saints or spooks? Maybe both and as we all know, Halloween isn’t just for kids. It is fun to dress up and I would probably shock people if I was a-fright! I have shocked a few over the years with my choices though. It ends this month of October before the big holiday season begins…

I’ll wrap up with a positive note today. Not entirely saintly, but definitely not spooky. My girl has yet another assignment. This time, it’s designing a book cover for one of her art classes. She asked me for help once again and decided on cats. No, not a black cat that would relate to Halloween, ha ha! She loves cats and definitely our tabby. She had to decide on a byline (as she asked what that was…?) plus colors and images. I did not ask her to look at my book, but she did anyway. Awwww, proud mom moment. šŸ„¹šŸ“— Her book is about a library cat. Can you believe that? She used a book theme! Great lead into mine here. ā€œ Spirit and Beliefā€ is sold where you find books and if you’d like to read about my experiences with Warrior and spirit, look it up. You didn’t think I would let this go without a plug when she designed a book cover did ya? That moment presented itself for sure. šŸ˜‰ I was so happy with my cover and still am.

However you do Halloween or the celebratory days after, just be safe and have fun. You can be a saint or spook, but avoid the trouble. Let’s honor and respect those who have gone before us in a memorable way and be happy for their time here. That is what they want from us. You can scare but do it in a fun way and not a frightful one. Happy Halloween, All Saints, all Souls, and whatever else you choose. Just don’t dress up as The Undertaker or Papa Shango! 😯Anyone remember 10 years ago when I saw a boy at my son’s school dressed as Ultimate Warrior for their Halloween parade? That was a post all its own and I will link below. Oh, my tears back then… 😭No pic of him on that post although I took a few just for me. The back of him and not his face. I am no stalker! At least I hope those kids didn’t think soā€¦šŸ«£

*** Plus, there was someone dressed as a Gorilla šŸ¦ in front of him!!! Can you believe that? Warrior fans will understand or even fans of Mr. Monsoon… 😳

Year of Reflection… šŸŽ„šŸ¤šŸŽ…šŸ¼

Well~~~ warriors, I decided to end this year’s posts of 2023 the same way I started~~~ with a selfie. The entire month of January was me without any ultimate or Warrior pics so as I break for holiday time, you get to see me again. šŸ˜‰ I thought it only fitting to end wearing an elf hat as I made one for U. W. last week, ha ha! I seem to recall doing this years back with Santa hats too…… How can I sum up this year?

I will start with the ***DREAMS*** because that’s kinda what I’ve been doing and one was right in the beginning of this year. I mentioned a cousin of mine passing away suddenly back in January and within a few days, Warrior was in this beach house dream. I never fully shared all the details and won’t, but it was so comforting at the time. It wasn’t anything about my cousin at all but just beautiful timing with a peaceful setting. 🄹🌊 He did speak some words to me and I believe we went outside for a walk on the beach…. A few others I will *NOT * share concern his girls, but they were trusting and endearing enough for me. Yeah, those 2ļøāƒ£ words work well with the 2ļøāƒ£ dreams concerning them. All 3ļøāƒ£ of his Warrior Girls have December birthdays. I cannot believe his daughters are in their 20s now.

So, let’s reflect on ones I HAVE shared. There was Watching Warrior’s Stage, The Wandering Tent, Loosen Your Grip ( held in a park back in 1992,) a snake bio ( as part of another one,) and the House/ Tree/ Crystal one… A few others were snuck in, but those have all been told. Feel free to read on your own. I’m always filled with many emotions over each and every one while marveling at how dreamland, our subconscious, and the Universe works. All for divine purposes and orchestrated just for me. šŸ’™šŸ„±šŸ˜“

Next up was a biggie that filled most of this year in photos. I finally had bought the ā€œAlways Believeā€ DVD. My review of that has been written along with the frustration of not seeing all the additional bonus stuff at the end. I won’t get into all that again. I’m so glad to have seen additional content after all these years that I was finally ready for. I love listening to Warrior share HIS views on his wrestling career, but Disc 1 I rarely watch as much as 2 and 3 , which are matches and promos with some HOF footage. I LOVE all the promos leading up to WMVII with ā€œMacho Kingā€ Randy Savage. These are my favorites. I am a little biased, but I have a right to be. I can’t forget ā€œAmanda Ultimate Warrior.ā€ Oh my yes. Amanda was one of the names written down as possibilities in my daughter’s baby book. I always liked it. My girl does have a good friend name Mandy….. I also am not sad in the way I once was, including February when I finally had it in my hands. Sure, I have my moments but like I have said many times, it’s an ebb and flow. It’s that way with us all about anybody really. The ā€œ Grown-upsā€ movie though? It surprised me if you recall that mention of a few posts ago.

The next topic that brought a post, but also more with WWE was the *** HUGE*** sale and merger involving Endeavor. I still was shocked to see the end of an era with the McMahons as my title indicated. It brought up so much for me and like I said, why do I care? It’s just emotional attachment but fans of yesteryear have that and we always will. More talent and employees have been let go but some talent has been brought back. It’s always interesting for sure and lately, WWE has been on top of the game. I hope it still thrives as fans remain entertained on the edge of their seats.

This is my 350th post. It’s mind blowing and yet to some, no big deal. It’s a tremendous deal to me along with reaching seven 7ļøāƒ£ years this past October. Thank you doesn’t seem ā€œwordyā€ enough to all you loyal and faithful TRUE readers, but I thank Warrior too. He is my tagteam partner in all this along with the Universe too vast to understand. I understand more than I did over 350 posts ago, MUCH MORE. I’ll have to come up with a cool tag team name for us, why didn’t I think of this sooner? I am NOT wearing red and yellow, though, that’s for sure! Seriously though, I enjoy you all who actually take time and read, which is more on my list in 2024. You’ll hear later about a šŸ“• in January but for now, let’s remember some other goodies.

There was a friend who read ā€œcardsā€ for me and then picked up on a commonality we share spiritually. She could sense Warrior’s humor without me sharing anything.. 🤭 Awww… šŸ«¶šŸ» What a great moment for me and I’m so glad I saw her even though she had no idea I’d be there at that event. I got a little aww as well from another post as never did I think to write about ā€œRowdyā€ Roddy Piper and compare a little of his life to Warrior’s . That was such a compelling and interesting bio and I’m so glad I watched. Who would’ve thought I would write my own story, but I did on them both so it stuck out to me as a different post for sure. I found myself looking through old posts as titles intrigued me. ā€œThe Space to Be.ā€ Oh my goodness…. Plus, ā€œWe are Never Done.ā€ Boy, those were doozies. Here’s another: ā€œNo, I am not CRAZY!ā€ That explored my basement workout antics when I’ve received an emotion or wanting to relate to Warrior’s many signs through music especially. And, another topic that’s a constant is my white brick wall in the basement with those messages or questions I ā€œwrite.ā€ I look to it every time. (Hint, pic below…) You still might think I’m crazy but I got you here reading so it’s all up to you to believe or not. I haven’t the need to defend anymore. All of my meditations and convos I say to Warrior daily (or pretty much) have been blogged too so content is out there if you care to remember or explore.

I could list so many others, but think I’ll stop at those. Who knows what else will come my way with year 8ļøāƒ£ now a few months in. Several milestones of Warrior’s life AND my own will all be upcoming as once again, numbers are so reflective. I also do my own family year in review as I reflect on everything of these past 12 months. Do you find yourself doing that too as perhaps New Year’s approaches? I physically look at my calendar with events listed as family connectedness abounds. We take it all~~~ good, bad, and everything in between. I hope you hang with me and feel something in your heart with these writings. Even if you giggle, you feel it. If you don’t believe, that’s OK too as I have validation and this I will always trust in along with my intuition. The mind can learn, but the heart knows. Remember that. šŸ’•

Enjoy the rest of this December warriors and have fun with however you celebrate. Get some R&R and do something for YOU. I’ll end with a quote about this time of year: ā€œ Always remember, taking care of yourself doesn’t mean me first. It means me too.ā€ *** Be reflective while staying present. Your presence is more important than any šŸŽ given or received. Until 2024, keep reading. ~~~ Kathy.

P.S.Tomorrow on ā€œ80’s wrestling the podcastā€ they will be talking about shocking moments in wrestling history. Oh boy, that’s a huge topic. You fans of Ultimate Warrior—- think here—- šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøwhat do you think I would call in about? Yup, I plan to so listen if you can at 10 AM, EST! 😬🫣

The Season of Nostalgia

How is it December warriors? I hope this year has treated you well as we all get nostalgic around now. I bet you have your own Holiday memories, traditions, and even favorite gifts received in the past. Christmas Day years ago was spent at my Aunt and Uncle’s house out of town after dropping off our overnight bags at my Grandparents. I treasure those memories and so fortunate to have had so many wonderful years out there with my extended family. I also loved this beautiful ballerina jewelry box I got from Santa one year. It became a favorite gift I used for a long time.

I hope Warrior had some good memories from his past as a kid although I heard they didn’t celebrate all that much. Maybe he did have a favorite gift but if not, I am so glad he could start his own family years later with new memories. Yes, it is the season of nostalgia but what about other types of “seasons” we will always remember? When it comes to the Ultimate Warrior, we as fans get nostalgic every time we think of his career, big title wins, promos, and all that good stuff. We all have those times in our lives that will be remembered more fondly than others. When it comes to my past career, I had to really think about it.

I came up with two answers based on both my preschool jobs. The first was probably around 1993-1994 when I was co-teaching with these great ladies and it was at my favorite school. We had the best times together. The second place of nostalgia was a little different to remember. Even though there was some friction in the beginning, I’d pick my first few years there from late 1996-1997. There were the core five of us but later on, we added a sixth. It was a challenge for me but we need those life lessons and I recall both times with such nostalgia. How could I possibly forget finding some U.W. items at both jobs? Yeah, those count too!!

I wonder what professional time in Warrior’s life that he’d pick? šŸ¤”I’m not talking about winning the belts since those were just two nights but what about before or after? Some fans loved the 1988 time being in his prime while others think winning the Heavyweight title in 1990 brought about his “downfall.” It’s the in-betweens that got me thinking. Maybe he had no time to be nostalgic back then but that’s a good question to have asked him later on. He may not have been able to define just one part of his career to reflect upon but perhaps he did have that nostalgic season of sorts.

As time goes on, we need to establish new traditions as yesteryear fades. With my kids being older now, gone are the days with tons of toys under the tree and playing all day. It is difficult saying goodbye to those times as we all know while moving on. We can’t live there but need to be excited for what’s to come. I have way too many moments or seasons personally to not get nostalgic about and we never want to lose them. That’s why the Ultimate Warrior and others passed will always live on because they are part of us too, just like our own nostalgia. Remember though, he wants us to keep moving forward because we have this great life to live and should to the fullest.

Even though I have mentioned this time of year being filled with Holiday cheer, maybe you have nostalgia for some others. It isn’t just Christmas ya know? As long as you make it all good, that’s what counts. Share your favorite stories with those you love and you’ll find pieces of nostalgia everywhere. Maybe you can all gather ’round and watch some Warrior DVD’s or maybe some of you even have a VCR hooked up? That’s nostalgia right there.

I do hope whatever season of nostalgia you celebrate, have more laughs than tears and then go on and make new ones. I know this sounds like an end of the year post but nope. You’re stuck with me a few more weeks until we welcome 2022… Oh boy, what new stories to tell then? So, warriors- make any season of time nostalgic, not just the Holidays. You’ll have those times in your life you may not want to look back on fondly as Warrior did also. They make us who we are though.

Nostalgia will always be there and I hope most of you fans reading remember the ‘ol WWF days. Today’s fans will have this time to share in the future as the newer logo of WWE suggests: “Then, Now, Forever, Together.” Enjoy this season since we will never get another one. Oh, I know my editing is not all that great but Warrior would’ve made a great Santa, don’t ya think? šŸŽ…šŸ¼šŸŽ„šŸ’šā¤ļø
