Warrior Feathers and a Goddess πŸͺΆπŸͺΆπŸŒΎπŸŒΉ

So, do you see it? Two weeks in a row of no Warrior pic and I had different options for this week. Well, if you zoom in by the kickstand of my bike, you’ll notice something super tiny. Sure, I took a separate shot of it up close but this is more fun! It’s a small blue Jay feather. My husband and I decided to take a bike ride one night and as I got closer to putting up that kickstand, there it was. I had found a tiny dime once in the pouring rain but that’s been told already. This feather was literally between my feet so I picked it up and put it in my pouch as it came along for the ride. How would a super tiny jay feather make its way into our garage? They don’t fly in there. The wind could’ve blown it in but who knows? Thank you Warrior as I always believe (like last week.) Had to show my pink bike that’s now 11 years old since growing up I always had blue. Finally, my favorite color after all these years.οΏΌ πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ’–

The next feather story happened before that tiny one’s story. I was feeling stressed and filled with much anxiety so asked Warrior for a feather since I hadn’t gotten one in a while. Do I need them? No, of course not but it just makes me feel good. I let it go and got on with my day. A few weeks went by so it wasn’t on my mind so much anymore. One day though, became quite emotional for me. That day brought something unexpected my way which was such a fun moment. I laughed, I cried, and just embraced this memorable gift. That was my focus until later in the day when going outside near my hammock. I can’t remember if I was planning on reading or just relaxing but the hammock had leaves on it so while shaking them off, my eyes darted to the ground. Upon blinking, I saw a big blue jay feather sticking up straight in the grass right where I’d notice.

Hands covered my face as I was stunned. 😱 Always expect the unexpected and believe. I laughed and thought of that day when asking for one a few weeks prior. I could just hear Warrior saying: “You had to wait until that moment happened to get your feather today!” I’m pretty convinced that would be his thoughts so it lined up once again. I took a pic of that one too. My unexpected surprise totally connects with this feather even though they weren’t in the same day. Just trust me on that. It really wasn’t a total surprise but I still didn’t believe it would happen.οΏΌ

Here’s the last story which involves a goddess like the title above. This actually involved a dream recently but for a 3 count, I had to include it along with my new Bluejay feathers. To recap just a little from a line I included last week, my Virgo self influenced this dream for sure. I was wearing a white dress with a big empire waist, a slight train, and had some flowers. Sounds like a wedding gown, I know… πŸ§πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ My hair was a ring of garland flowers and I held gold and silver long stemmed roses. Maybe I became a little lucid since the name that came to me was Demeter. She was a Greek goddess who connected to the Earth and it’s this time of year in the U.S. of harvest. If you never read mythology or know much about it, very easy to find lots of stories all on those ancient gods and goddesses out there. I have mentioned years back of loving them all in 7th grade and then in 9th where one assignment was a book I made and have saved. A blog post was even titled: “The Mythology of Heroes.”

Demeter is depicted carrying wheat in her arms and wearing a green dress like the Earth but I still believe by hearing her name in that dream, a feeling was there. I vividly remember my mom helping in gathering flowers so Demeter fits my style in a way. Maybe that represented me as an Earth mother goddess or maybe even a past life connection? That’s a big topic and one I’ve mentioned before as well. It was so beautiful and I DID get called a goddess. I’ll take it! πŸ˜‰ The roses were just stunning and I could see them very clearly too.οΏΌ

Warrior referenced those historical gods up above back in his days of wrestling and with my love of mythology, it makes sense. We are getting very close to fall or πŸ‚ Autumn here and with my month of September, again a beautiful way to bring this dream to me. Well, you could be wondering how those feathers relate to my Goddess dream? No, I wasn’t finding feathers as that goddess but there is the nature feeling with them all plus I AM aware of a few other things… πŸ₯°It did become easy for me putting this together so now all 3 come as a post today. They all intertwined for my life in ways I can’t fully express here but just know they do. 🫢🏻

I never know what signs will be sent in my direction but they fill me with such emotion. I hope all of you recognize what is sent your way and take it in on your journey because that’s what we should do.

***Usually this is saved for a P. S. but I think I’ll share it now. I DID hear a song recently (are you sick of that? I never am…!) Don’t think I had ever heard a song by this group of yesteryear before in my head but it played on repeat. It was in my brain as I woke up one day. Part of a line in the verse mentions a feather so yep— it comes full circle with these most recent happenings. I can’t say it all but these songs fill me with such joy. Whatever you may doubt as a sign, please don’t. Take them however you wish but just know they are specially synchronized for you. I cherish it all and hope your experiences connect in ways you will never question. Keep the feathers goddesses or gods! You are all warriors to me.

P.S. (ya know there would be one!) *** Just recently I read a Chicken Soup for the Soul book called: “Messages from Heaven and Other Miracles 101 Stories of Angels, Answered Prayers and Love That Doesn’t Die.” ~~~ Amy Newmark, 2019.

*** I haven’t read a similar book in a loong time and these experiences hooked me for sure! Stories all about our loved ones up in “parts unknown.” They are truly amazing for any of you doubters out there as I have gotten many of these little signs in the book too…. You can find more about this on my other blog:

Be A Hero πŸ’™πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏻

A hero is defined as someone with admirable qualities and usually is represented as a male character in a book. Hmmm… I agree with the first part but we have evolved greatly with the second part. I’ll just change the word sometimes to heroine. Warrior doesn’t necessarily mention Don Muraco as a “hero” in that video photo above but admiration for sure. I loved this video because of its contrast to other guys he feuded with.

Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces relates the journey of a hero in all its (his) stages throughout myths and cultures of the world. Yes, Warrior has referenced this book but I had heard of Campbell and wanted to check it out for myself. I have always loved mythology and even blogged about it last year. This book is captivating but it may not be for everyone. I feel reminded of what I believe to be its female counterpart in the book Women Who Run with the Wolves. I blogged that a few years back but Campbell’s book totally connects with the male version of stories throughout time.

Do you have heroes you admire? Am sure we all identify with heroic measures always taken by essential firefighters, police officers, ( the good ones) EMS workers, health care providers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and the list continues. As kids, we had our own superheroes of Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, BUT cannot forget Wonder Woman and those ladies. Even us wrestling fans had our favorites that epitomized being a hero of sorts.

Heroes aren’t just physically strong but emotionally also. Throughout history, it wasn’t just the situation a hero was in but how they coped and survived. That applies to us as well. You can have your heroes but be one too. Help a neighbor, give a hug, be a friend, or any little thing. Sometimes those small acts are more heroic to someone than you may think.

Did you ever wonder about your ancestors or relatives with hardships they faced? Maybe they had to be a hero to survive or provide for their families. Two women in my family tree deserve hero status. Sure, there are plenty of men but us girls stick together! Both of these women would be too humble accepting a hero role. I decided for the balance of both parents sides and thought of these ladies. My Great-Grandma with my Mom’s side and my Aunt on my Dad’s.

My Great-Grandma loved Gorgeous George the wrestler as I mentioned waaay back but that’s not why she is a hero to me. I never met her but do know some stories. She was a young widow as were some other women in my family. That again doesn’t make her a hero but it’s how she coped and raised three kids. My Mom has said her Grandma remained positive and active until a stroke led to her passing at 92. She did housework and errands in the neighborhood to put food on the table for her kids. Always a worker but still so much fun.

My Aunt who is my Dad’s sister is probably the most generous and compassionate person I know. After infidelity on her husband’s part ended their marriage, she too had to raise three children while being a social worker. Many years later, she also provided care for my Grandma who suffered from dementia. Always is she present at family functions and remains extremely caring with connections. I so wish she lived closer and that we could’ve been around her more growing up. She is just a joyful soul I am honored to be related with.

I was reminded of this quote:

“Be the Hero of your own story.”

Didn’t even realize it was from Joseph Campbell! Warrior has said this too. We all should since nobody can truly write our lives and story but us. You don’t need to write a book like I did. Being a hero is remaining true to your values, morals, ethics, and beliefs while sharing them with others. It’s kinda like my Genius post of last week.

I am a music girl so of course many songs came to me about heroes. There’s “Hero” by Mariah Carey which is all about being your own hero. There’s also “Go the Distance” from the animated Disney movie Hercules who was that hero demi-god. How about “Holding out For a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler? That song is similar to Hercules but still worth mentioning. So many more but truly listen to the lyrics as am sure some may resonate in your life.

Those qualities of a hero are all inside us if we just learn how to best use them. You can admire others but make yourself admirable too. No need to be the next Superhero like the Ultimate Warrior was but just a hero in your corner of the world. We are all heroes just be showing up everyday in this great life to live.

P.S. Warrior has also said:

“It’s never wrong to do the right thing.” ~~~ Be the Hero and ALWAYS do the right thing! πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ˜‰

The Mythology Of Heroes

Happy New Year~~ 2019 Warrior fans! I have missed this so with the Holidays over, gear up for more Warrior stories! This one gradually came to me as a little idea until it got launched like a ROCKET into my thoughts! πŸš€ Yet another concept of Warrior’s that I too connected with. Mythology and all its Gods, Goddesses, and Demi-Gods always fascinated me in school. I first read their stories in 7th grade. Funny how that grade wasn’t one of my favorites and now I remember some good stuff!

When first putting this blog post together, I knew there was a report in high school saved up in the attic as we studied mythology again in 9th grade. I found it and laughed looking thru my drawings and hand written descriptions! 😜 Well, that was GOING to be my photo until something Ultimate happened… I put it aside and then when looking for it—- it was totally GONE! Seriously warriors, it completely disappeared. I ransacked my entire room and knew right where I put it. It seems like I never even got it down.,,

Maybe those Gods are tricking me? ⚑️I got tired of looking so finally remembered this photo of these two heroes back then. Let’s just say the book was not a big loss but I was proud of it or it wouldn’t have been kept. I really can’t say when my fascination began with these myths but one story led into the next as my imagination soared. From Zeus to Hera, Aphrodite, Athena, Hades, Ares, Poseidon, and many others whose influence we still use today.

Do you know the expression “Pandora’s Box?” How about your Achilles heel? There were the Greeks, Romans, and Norse myths liked how Thursday is named for Thor. I bet most of you know that superhero made popular in the movies. Plus, many of our planets are named after those legendary gods.

That brings us to two Gods that resemble Warrior. At least to me anyway. Anyone know? Come on…. If you know some stories am sure you can guess. The winners are: Hercules and Atlas. Perhaps for some obvious reasons but ONE trait they all have in common is endurance. Really, it’s true.

Tony Schiavone (former commentator for the WWE) even said the Ultimate Warrior had “super human strength” and that is one of the top qualities of Hercules. Plus, he wrestled everybody! I loved the show Hercules The Legendary Journeys in the late 90’s but let’s continue…

Hercules was the only god to become a hero after his death although he was a demi-god. He was known for his bravery and speed but had excessive self-confidence. Often times he struggled with evil impulses while trying to remain true to his heart. You can look up all his great stories but some of these ideas pertained to Warrior in many ways. No, not all the time but definite similarities. I know Herc’s stories well after following the show plus some movies made.

Let’s move to Atlas. His “punishment” was to carry the pillars of heaven and earth as a test of strength– Hercules had many of these too as they teamed up to fight Zeus. It’s the expression of “having the weight of the world on your shoulders.” This of course was in line with Warrior and how he approached body-building and then using his gorilla press slams as a wrestler. Warrior depicted this trait of Atlas throughout his entire adult life and career. To me, he didn’t ever need to feel the weight of the world upon him as I hope he knows that now in spirit.

The weight of the world came upon Tony Atlas as well since like Warrior, he too was a body builder. Tony went on to win Mr. USA and became well known in the WWE with his famous gorilla slams similar to Warrior. The name Atlas fit him perfectly. You can also contact an atlas to find out about the world which depicts maps of Earth. According to mythology, Atlas was a Titan and that thought stated in my mind…

Titan Sports was that thought as I read up on the name behind WWE. I wanted to know why that name was chosen but couldn’t locate that specifically. Vince McMahon founded Titan Sports back in 1980 after other wrestling business connections ended. He took the old WWF name further than his father and grandfather before him. The name connects with this post! Mythological? I always believe.

Well, there’s my connection to mythology, heroes, and Warrior. I never forgot those stories and can still recall my favorites today. Very similar to Warrior and all his heroic battles in the ring including his earliest competitor the character of Hercules. Why do ideas stay in our heads? Obviously the Universe has other plans as to why we remember what we do.

Here’s my LAST connection and it does involve something quite common for me now spiritually. Remember that I always believe… Once my obsession waned some on looking for my school report, I did put the thought aside or so I thought.

When writing out ideas for this post, it was time for my workout so had to leave it unfinished for a bit. I went down to the basement and began on the elliptical machine. Great songs on Pandora the whole way but then out of nowhere I asked Warrior: “Did you take my report“? Why was that thought back on my brain again? Why would I ask that of Warrior? My brain obviously knew what I couldn’t believe at first. As soon as those words left my mouth, the light WENT OUT! I was laughing so hard and could barely finish without cramping. It did come back on as the song “Two Steps Behind” by Def Leppard was playing. A beautiful yet perfect song. Lights on, Lights off yet again. Check out that post archived if new here. 😏 The light actually went on and off twice as I questioned the gods up above!! Really, this truly happened. I joked thinking perhaps I’d hear thunder or go see some lightning outside but no!

Does Warrior plan on rewriting my report or maybe even putting better art in? I make my jokes but seriously– it’s totally gone. I’ll let you all know if it turns up somewhere but that light gave me an answer that’s for sure!! I am utterly wowed.. Maybe he’s upset that Hercules and Atlas aren’t in it? Guess they weren’t part of my mindset back then. It’s all good fun as my spiritual connection with Warrior grows stronger all the time. He doesn’t need the physical strength of a god to be truly genuine to me. ❀️ Learn about these legendary myths since you just might not forget a great story like I never did and never will!!!

~~~ P.S. Giant Gonzalez was also a wrestler in the WWE and part of the movie Hercules in the Underworld. (Which I own!)
~~~ P.P.S Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock” also portrayed Herc in a 2014 movie and now is the host of a new competition show called The Titan Games on NBC.
