Strike a Pose 🤼‍♀️💪🏻😬

Yeah, that’s exactly what the Ultimate Warrior is doing in those 3️⃣ pics you see. Last week, it was two belts and today we get that number three so maybe next week will be four? Probably not but I always hope you continue reading. In a few days, we will be helping our son move into his college apartment with three roommates. Hey, another number three! His sister began classes Monday and he is next week. Hard to believe both are in college. 😯 Empty nesters we are now! 🪹Well, sorta as they will be home soon, I’m sure. I’m excited for this new adventure of his as Mama always captures the special moments on camera. 📷

This post is yet another off the cuff one. I have no notes so a big rarity for me. I just thought with all the family happenings among other things, maybe I didn’t need to be so prepared all the time. But, are you prepped and glammed up when it’s time to strike a pose? My girl likes to take those silly pics of people eating or making faces, etc. I don’t do those and get frustrated when she takes them of me!🤪At least she’s enjoying herself but I’m just too critical. With fame though, you are basically camera ready most of the time. I have said before how I would never have known Warrior’s feelings on all the camera stuff but maybe he just accepted it as part of his career. We have seen little clips of him getting irritated during promos but not sure if that meant he disliked it all the time.

I’m not one to do all the selfies others post frequently, are you? Yes, I know I do one monthly on here and a few on socials but those of this blog may end at the close of November. We shall see. I don’t consider myself that photogenic, although many people are. They always look fabulous in any photo or video but me, I need to primp and glam in order to have it work. Anyone remember those Glamour Shots stores years ago in the 80s? We had one at our local mall and I knew a few girls who went there. I’m sure boys did too but those pics, oh my! I’ve had little things done by others but not a big session like that. Sure, it’s fun for a one time thing but I can’t imagine that kind of lifestyle, can you? It’s like modeling. My senior photos were challenging enough as I actually liked my junior pic better! Let’s not get into all the surgeries people have to improve their looks. OK, we all are a little vain as I’ve stated but come on warriors! We are not real Barbie 🤦🏻‍♀️or Ken dolls and shouldn’t feel pressured to be one ( brunettes like myself and other non-blondes included.) Are you with me?

I totally understood (when others did not, so typical) of why Warrior didn’t want to be photographed without face paint. He was on some occasions but not too often. He liked his mask for fans to identify with but as the character~~~ he did too. So many of the guys back then became exhausted with all the work they put into the business so smiling all the time maybe didn’t happen. I have seen a few pics of UW looking tired but more often than not, he would smile. Sometimes, fans would just get what the camera clicked without a second take. Sorry folks, it isn’t a photo shoot so you’d get what you got regardless. Obviously different if they’d be posing for autographs or a scheduled meet and greet, but a quick pick on the street perhaps might not be perfect. The guys would not have had time for a retake.

Speaking of retakes, me, yes ONLY me out of my 3️⃣ siblings ever had to have a school photo retake. It seriously was not my fault but the camera film. 🎞️ I smiled weird anyways, but there was a crease right under my little nose. I was in kindergarten. No way could that hang on our wall! The new one was much better but no smile from my 5️⃣ year-old self. It was still a good photo and I liked my outfit better in the second one. I wore my green knit dress with a 🌻 in the middle. Yes, I still can remember most along with the hairdos. Just like my life~~ a rollercoaster 🎢 . Some years the hair was short, then long, straight, then curly. This was very unlike my daughter where the ponytail was ever present in many school photos. That was her though. Not the senior one! Me? Nope, not ever. The hairdresser and I were just talking about all this a few weeks ago when my girl and I both went. She was amazed I could remember, but I do. It did help when seeing them all every time we’d visit my mom’s house as the kids loved looking at them. Oh geez. 🙄

I enjoyed my hair longer (still do) and tussled kind of how I remember UW’s being often in his prime. My one Grandma used to brush it aside when I’d have bangs just so she could see my face. She loved short hair. I recall thinking how I’d feel the same way when Warrior’s face paint would come off. Then, I could see *** HIS*** face more. What poses come to mind when you think of your past in pictures? We will never like them all but nowadays, can laugh at the silly. At least I hope you do. You might not strike that perfect pose but we all aren’t on the cover of a magazine like the guys of the ol’ WWF days or as Madonna sang about in her song “Vogue.” Sure, we could do the touchups from a professional but then have to pay extra. Your choice. Most people on those magazines are photoshopped anyway. I never did pay those extras for the kids despite my son’s overbite, both with braces, some blemishes, or any of that. It is how they looked then and became memories. The photos still turned out good and no, that isn’t just the Mama me talking.

Strike a pose warriors. Let your face, expressions, hair, or emotions tell your story. You don’t need Glamour Shots or a pro. Just be you, not a plastic doll…

Choose Between Two 🤔🧡

An intro paragraph: Some family news first… Last Saturday, my husband and I just celebrated our 22nd anniversary! 💞After a morning yoga class outside (just me,) we went jet skiing. We haven’t done that in years and last time, it was with the kids. Always so much fun as it became a great idea. The waves were very rough 🌊as my backside hurt for a few days… 😬Double twos, kind of similar to my title today but that’s in a bit. Tonight, my son will be staying a week with his cousin during band camp as his apartment won’t be available until the following week. This will be quite the new experience for him but he gets a head start before his third year of college begins. I’m a little nervous but need to trust all will be well. Tomorrow brings child number two who is starting her first year at college soon. Moving day is finally here as this summer went so amazingly fast. There goes my mama heart again. 🥹😫I obviously can’t choose between both kids~~ ha ha, but that does lead into today’s topic for sure.

Ultimate Warrior’s epic win at WMVI allowed him briefly to hold both the IC title and the Championship one at the same time~ see pic ⬇️. Obviously, WWF then was building the company around him as their new champ, so the IC belt had to be relinquished. Here’s a question to wrestlers of that Golden Era but maybe others as well. This pertains back to when there were only those two belts. Which would they choose?

No strings attached, no complications, no better for business deals, etc. None of that here~~~just a choice. I bet most would pick being the best or getting that elusive Championship title. Maybe some wouldn’t as they always felt more Intercontinental material but just imagine if they COULD choose. Once all the variables are eliminated, would their answer be the same? Maybe also they wouldn’t want their face everywhere or the brutal touring schedule, expectations, and all that required for being *THE* champ. Interesting question I’d love to post to any of them. Fans going to meet and greets, autograph signings, or any wrestling event out there~~~keep this in mind.

With Libra season approaching after my Virgo, it’s the balancing scale. It’s all about fairness, justice, and keeping things aligned. We all want that though, right? We do and yet there’s this tug-of-war always going on to pull or push from both sides of a choice. We put those labels on of good/ bad/right/wrong or even in wrestling~ face/heel. There are always choices everyday of that Yin/Yang Warrior had mentioned. I wear my bracelet every Wednesday when writing… ☺️We make decisions based on multiple factors, but lots are connected with either A or B, 1 or 2. “Which Warrior Would You Choose?” was another post many years back where I posed that same question. I was imagining metaphorically Ultimate Warrior and Warrior himself years later in lines waiting for fans. Younger generations probably found that confusing seeing his past look with his current one. 😳Hard to choose just one but he really was both. Great post to read if you’re interested…

How about those social quizzes? You might see some often where there are different photos of many choices and you can only pick one? I hate those as they are difficult for me. 😐Some I am better at than others like Taco Bell being my fast food place 🌮but others, not so much. I clearly have my fave in wrestling but that’s for other reasons as well. 😉Is it easy or hard for you to make those types of decisions? My daughter takes forever deciding between two choices of let’s say~~ an outfit to buy, necklaces to wear, or even when younger with toys. It can be anything really. Adults have more life decisions to ponder and for some, it’s gut wrenching. From a job choice, to buying a car, home, or even debating on a relationship. With friendships, it can even come down to keeping someone or letting them go for whatever reason. Romance can be tricky too. Any “Bachelor/Bachelorette” fans out there? I used to watch years ago but not anymore. Who gets that final rose when it’s down to two people? 🌹I know most of those reality shows rarely work but still, we are glued to our seats hoping our pic wins.

Parenting is a whole other concept. What happens when two kids have an event on the same day or night? Yes, we have had that happen a few times. Do you both go and then leave early to make it to the other or split up where one attends for one child, and the other goes with child number two? Choosing between both can be tough and yet despite outcomes, we make it work somehow. I will say though last year~ we chose our girl if anything interfered with her brother. No way was Mama missing any senior stuff and I did it for his milestone year too. With her not continuing in band for college, it was an easy choice for us parents come football season but was debatable early on. We will still cheer for both teams but will sit on the side of our guy in the band he so loves.

Do you have to choose between two more often than you’d like? Well, it all depends on what the choices are for sure. You will have your list but the biggies will require more effort on your part to decide. Whatever you choose, I hope it works for you but if not, you will always get more choices in other ways. Sometimes, we fall away from what we used to love and move onto other areas. That’s OK because we do need to evolve in life. We may also always have our “likes” so the choice becomes easy. It’s yours to pick so hold that belt(s) up high and celebrate (if it’s a good win obviously…) Yes, I know UW held up both!!

P.S. My son’s friend attended SummerSlam in Cleveland a few weeks ago! He’s been a fan since a young boy. I still want to ask more details. He had a blast though!

Daffy Wrestling Dreams🤭😴

A quick mention here first. I spelled Sheamus’s name wrong last week, so I felt the need to apologize on that🫤. It was spelled right in my tag though!

Here’s a few dreams that I hope you enjoy just as much as I did receiving them. Oh, the pic down ⬇️ is not one I had intended originally but that is how Warrior looked in dream number 2️⃣ . Let’s start with number one 1️⃣.

I frequently have dreams about my Grandparents house, but to have a wrestling reference makes it even sweeter. 🥰 My mom, youngest sister, and I had visited my grandparents but not sure if either of them was in this dream? We used to visit every few months after my Grandpa passed as well. Us girls were there with my spiritual cousin (who I’ve mentioned before), her daughter, and HER daughter. I must say~~~ my son also was there. I guess it wasn’t just us girls after all. ☺️Anyways, my cousins went out which left the rest of us to watch the baby who is a little over a year old. The reason I believe they were in it is because my cousin was just recently visiting her daughter’s family so in this dream, they visited my grandparents and we must’ve gone too.

While us girls were feeding the baby in the kitchen, my son was watching TV in the den. I got totally distracted as I heard what I thought was the old WWF shows! NAH, that can’t be, can it? Is some channel showing those old episodes or is this some kind of flashback? I turned my head and could catch a glimpse as it was then how I saw the Ultimate Warrior being interviewed by Mean Gene! At first I thought next to him was one of the “Demolition”guys but that wouldn’t be right. I believe now it was the “Road Warriors”or then being the “Legion of Doom”( LOD). It probably was right before Survivor Series ’90 when they were a team alongside “The Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich. My son was watching and said nothing! He never has watched and still does not. I got so into the TV, I forgot about the baby! Good thing others were there, he he. There was more to the dream involving the house and it being a duplex which it was not. There were many more details that I won’t share but always different things that make these dreams so amusing at times. 😜

Let’s move onto dream number two. This one also does connect to my real life because well, many do. Again, though I couldn’t connect if it was a flashback or mix of the present. They both merge and I just go with it. So, I looked like I do now but still lived at home with my mom, dad, and youngest sister. Huh? I was out running errands and someone in a store I believe had mentioned Warrior being nearby signing autographs! What? 😳How is this possible and how could I not know? Well, guess what Kathy did? I went (or sped) right there as it was at a local T-shirt shop called ” Daffy Dan’s” which I totally remember back then. It is no longer there, but was for many years. I believe THIS manifested because recently I was in a shop which contains retro and vintage clothing similar to DD’s. The shop is a connector in another way so keep it in mind…

I get there after calling home to tell them I was going to be late. Why would I do that? 🤷🏻‍♀️Perhaps lines would be very long and I’d be there a while. It was at the end of the event but they had barricades in the parking lot as the line was moving fast. I panicked because I had nothing for him to sign, just my phone to take pics. Well, years ago~~~ no cell phones but Warrior looked like he did down below so it was more of the now… The gift always is the dream… 💙All of a sudden, the book ” A Life Lived Forever” which I own was placed in my hands! That book didn’t happen until Warrior passed but items similar appear in dreams often. Guess I had something for him to sign now. Also, I found out they were giving away FREE UW action figures so another bonus! 😉👏🏻Not sure of the time per se, but Warrior had blonde hair in the figure as it was all movable and posable parts which I never had or have. I got closer but still didn’t know what to say as I dislike saying the same things about being a fan, can you tell? 🫢

Up to Warrior I went with the book and action figure. I ended up saying the fan stuff anyway, but then talked about coming on a whim and being one of the few girls there. He laughed so hard like he did and I got some pics. I asked him for a hug and of course, he obliged. 🤗He then went to sign my items and this is what he wrote on the book: ” Kathy- may all your dreams come true, always believe– Warrior.” *** I was STUNNED as I hadn’t asked him to write much at all. What made him write THAT?? Well, this WAS a dream but he meant real life. How touching. 🥹🫶🏻

It was then how I came back home and our house was decorated for Christmas. The shop of earlier had a Christmas in July sale when I went there so that is the connection!!! 🎄I was displaying the book and figure on some sort of Christmas platter of some kind? My sister admired it as well. Warrior had even attached his famous logo naturally… I still couldn’t believe that happened as I just stared at these wonderful Warrior collectibles now mine to keep forever. I had “met” Warrior in other dreams but this one was indeed “daffy” in many ways. He didn’t paint his face either which I’m sure he would’ve done for fans. 

Oh~~~ Warrior, thank you for these dreams as always but like I said years earlier, I can’t go anywhere ha! With these busy times ahead as we begin a new month of August, maybe he thought I needed them. 🙏🏻🤍I’m not ready for Christmas though! 😂

P.S. I got those Warrior items to keep forever in that dream just like the book of ” A Life Lived Forever.” Indeed it is… 😇

Notes and Treasures ✍🏻🔥💪🏻

A quick little mention here for all you WWE followers out there. SummerSlam is this weekend in the city of Cleveland, about 20 minutes from where I live! That downtown is going to be happening!!! So super exciting for our city to be hosting this annual event! 👏🏻😀

Moving on, I must say~~~ warriors how I love this month’s “selfie”! Only one take too when usually it’s several as I am super critical of them, ugh… Bravo to those that are not. Also, you’ll notice Warrior or should I say Ultimate Warrior in that pic with me. This is the first one of him that I used as a wrestler. The other two times (since now I have a 3️⃣ count~~~ yay!) was back in 2020 of “Coming Full Circle” and just last October with “My Superstar Seven.” I had to be reminded of those so now, it ends this month of July on the last day.

With my daughter’s party👩🏻‍🎓 over, she needed to write those thank you notes. Maybe some of you recall several months ago when I wrote about courtesies. I had said how her brother wrote them and now it’s her turn. No “one card fits all” for her either with me as her mom! They were handwritten and personalized. Yep, that’s the “old” way, but it’s the right way. At least that’s what I believe. We are all BUSY but the 1/2 hour one might spend scrolling through media can be spent thanking those that acknowledged you on a special occasion. I encouraged her gently how we needed to get those done before all the final prep for college. She did oblige but guess when she decided to begin them? An hour before the ” Most Wanted Treasures” on the Ultimate Warrior! Of course, right? She wanted my help starting out but I told her at 10 PM, Mom was done! She was still writing them at 10 when it started as I did both~~~ help and watch. 😵‍💫

She included some funny lines and didn’t want to say the same things over and over so I offered tips. Me as the writer I am. 😉 I was able to concentrate mildly on the show while her dad was “dozing” on the couch. It was going well until her questions began, once again. Haven’t I answered these before? Honestly, I didn’t even think she was paying attention to the TV! She proceeded to ask me about my warrior logo tattoo. Yes, was my answer. 🙄Then, she wanted to know when this all would be done., Like what, the blog which I’ve discussed already? As always, I didn’t have an answer but she meant more. OK, I have the “fan” status, but my girl just relates that to the past as many things I can’t answer because of their personal nature and complexities of the now. I had to watch my words with Dad nodding off next to me. 😬I guess she was really alluding to when ALL of it would be done with me. We are never done like a former post title, but obviously I was vague and that became enough because come on girl~~~ I wanted to watch this!!! So glad someone had posted it to the FB group a day or so after as THEN I was able to watch it totally alone. I can look it up on the A &E app but didn’t have to.

SPOILER ALERT HERE… Read no further, (but please do) as now I am going to get into details about the episode. If you haven’t seen it, that is. I really enjoyed it as I’m sure UW fans would too. I had heard and seen a little clip a few months ago so they showed one item and mentioned a second. NO IDEA on the third one so a total surprise! A three count again. 🤭

The first item was UW’s trunks that he signed from WMV. Even though they are autographed, I wouldn’t want them since he lost the IC belt to Rick Rude then, ha ha. 😡The value they place on gear and merch is just crazy to me. 😜The guy traded them for an Undertaker ⚱️ since he is a huge UT fan. Nope, not a trade I would make but I get it. The second item was one of the singlets UW wore as part of his short-lived tag team with Randy as the “Ultimate Maniacs.” It was the flame one as I remember a few. The guy this time was Victor Boudreau, who actually knew Warrior back in his days with Warrior University. I know who he is from some social media sites, but got informed of his relationship with Warrior from another mutual friend years ago. It was too personal for him to part with so he temporarily loaned it out to WWE. So glad to see someone Warrior knew post wrestling on one of these bios because that is quite rare…

The last item gets its own paragraph because they were the same trunks from ’96 that I had a pic from a few weeks back AND wrote about with ” The Warrior WHAT’s?” Yes, my head tilt part of that post. Another OMG Janice moment from “Friends!” 🫨! No clue at all as I held back laughter 😂 in my living room. He wore other trunks during his ’96 run but those were wanted by WWE. Great to see Jimmy Hart in that segment too. The guy also loaned them so nobody truly sold out for their UW gear (despite the urn.) I’m still in awe that a piece of clothing or as Warrior had said years back~~~ “underwear” is worth $5000 or more! I just don’t understand that part of money being exchanged, but autographed stuff sells though. His passing will influence merch for sure but like I said prior, no trunks for me. That’s just a little too much but boots, his arm tassels, belts, duster jackets (later on,) or other gear would be collectible in my mind. You all can think otherwise. I also understand if you knew someone personally or had an item they signed and gave to you. That is priceless and irreplaceable. ❤️In these cases with UW, it is important to display some “most wanted treasures” of his, but the WWE doesn’t need it all. Their history matters but if fans have it, then does everybody have a price? That’s “The Million Dollar Man’s” catchphrase! 💵💰

So, I’m sure I gave too much away about the episode but so glad it finally aired. I thought it was tastefully done from Booker T’s comments, Lita, (who was inducted alongside Warrior in 2014,) Shamus (the Celtic Warrior who met Warrior at his HOF,) Mick Foley, and of course~~~ Jimmy Hart. I never get tired of listening to Jimmy. I think the guys they found with UW gear were great too, especially Victor. I don’t watch WWE programming much, but Warrior stuff~~~ I will for certain. These notes and treasures I won’t forget that night and maybe someday, I can answer more questions of my girl’s. My connection to Warrior as a teen seems LIFETIMES ago now and yet, here we are decades later. I thank Warrior for gifting me my own “notes” or gear in this life. It is all my treasures with no price tag. There are lots and lots of other “notes” that can’t be filled on these pages… 🥹

Ultimate Merch & Messages

I said how more pics were coming from those WWF magazines so you will find one below. ⬇️ I still haven’t totally read the entire issues cover to cover but hopefully soon, I’ll have the time! I did read all the UW articles though. 😉If you had any of those back in the day, I’m sure you saw extra added inserts of merch dispersed through the pages. This one I loved with lots of UW stuff on it. There were others but I liked this page. The items they marketed then~~~ oh my as true fans loved it all. Did any of you own what’s shown? That jacket made a few appearances on the weekend shows. I can’t imagine the guys always posing for the countless photo shoots, but such was and is the life of a pro wrestler or even athlete. You get a 4 count with them, not a 3 ha ha.

Onto the messages… the day of my daughter’s graduation party, I had some wonderful things come my way. Lately, it’s been hawk feathers, literally all over and one really BIG one too. I am connected to that bird so I love its feathers as a sign. I saw many robin ones in the yard when setting up a table and then in the middle, ~~~ a hawk. A keeper for sure. Thank you team ⬆️ for letting me know all would be well. Then, also in the morning I received a beautiful heartfelt message from my spiritual cousin. She knew that day would be an “ultimate challenge” for me in many ways. I will quote some of what she sent but I can’t give her full credit. It was authored by another but she thought to send it my way, which is very typical of her. 🥰Here are some words that touched my heart as I didn’t fully feel I had earned some of those sentiments. I try to be better every day so I am humbled that she thinks I do deserve them. Here’s a few:

” when you give, it’s easy to see that it comes straight from the heart… I hope you’ll never forget how much I treasure just being in this world with you. You are such a deserving person. ”

Oh my goodness, I was moved by that as tears came. 🥹😭I’m not perfect as none of us are but she truly lifted me up so I could face the day and she called me amazing as well. What a wonderful soul sista and I treasure her too. She has no idea I mention her on here 🤭as she is not an attention seeker either but those that respond so genuinely will get recognized by me, always…

The next message I received was an email *** ALSO*** the morning of the party which overwhelmed me. I rarely get “fan mail” about this blog but so very grateful when someone takes time out of their day~~~ THEIR day to type me a word of thanks. I know he is probably reading as I hope he doesn’t mind the plug. I have replied to him personally but had to acknowledge him on here of course.

He has plans to order my book (so sweet…) 📗 and shared some very personal details about his life with me. I’m so honored how many have felt close enough through these writings to express their lives and love of Warrior to me. Warrior gave him inspiration and hope during some dark moments in his life that he so treasures. He met him and has his own private memories that he will always remember. I’m so grateful he attended WM 30 and even *** BEFORE*** 😮knowing Warrior would be inducted into the HOF. How’s that for listening to your gut intuition like Warrior always told us to do?

I also (as it was informed to me) had used a logo sign on this blog featured at the HOF and on camera! I will give him photo/ art cred here as I do believe which one it is. I had to look it up but think I know. 😊It’s beautiful art as I do try to showcase fans work every now and then. He told me to keep writing as I will for now. As long as we enjoy what we do and have a passion, it is needed. A million thanks to that wonderful warrior fan for believing and trusting me with his story. I hope he enjoys the book too. 👏🏻🙏🏻🙂‍↕️

We are all so needed in many ways for whatever work we put out into this world. Maybe with those we disagree on it becomes difficult to see their worth, but it’s still there underneath. The universe also does deliver but like Warrior had said~~~ we have to do the work too. Those messages guided me to a better feeling that day but honestly, we get messages every day. It can be easy, simple things that quite possibly we overlook. They aren’t always direct like a feather, text, or email. While writing this, I saw a blue butterfly~~~ which is RARE… 🦋One almost landed on me years ago when writing. Anything can brighten your day even when least expecting it too.

Wake up every day warriors to just be thankful for your gift of life because never does it not matter like the man himself said. Despite our craziness, we are more than what meets the eye. Once labels and façades (or masks) 🎭 get removed, we can truly be ourselves without hiding. That is when we receive the messages we need most to see, read, or hear. It’s when we are open to receiving and feel worthy that they manifest into form. 

Our team ⬆️ is always working on our behalf to let us know they are here to help when needed. Sometimes we ask, sometimes we don’t but they respond in one way or another. You can have your Warrior merch and channel the ultimate one or notice messages in other ways. Just know it is for our greater good to always believe… THANK YOU WARRIOR for keeping me on MY ultimate path to always know your power is here. My messages DO come from the ♥️ as I am so glad others do the same.

More Warrior Close-UPS 💙

I just had to do a continuation of a few weeks ago with ” The Warrior WHAT’s?” I told you I’d find some more and I did. If you look at the photo below, you’ll see number 5️⃣ on that list with the trunks that inspired my head tilt. Oh, and SPOILER ALERT… “Most Wanted Treasures” mentioned THOSE trunks as I had no idea. 😉🤭 More on that in a few weeks. Glad that episode was finally shown- yay!!! They are there as I went- hmmm… 🤔 I wanted more sillies because I need to laugh. It is the dog days of summer, right? No, wait, that’s August. How about the lazy, hazy days? No, wait, I am seldom lazy. We all deserve to be from time to time though. After just having my daughter’s graduation party👩🏻‍🎓 (with many personalities there…) on Saturday, and her college orientation yesterday, this mom deserves a Warrior break so here it is for today.

It is a 3️⃣ count (as you haven’t read that in a while) with those Warrior close-ups he seemed to be more famous for than others. I had watched the old WWF for years like I’ve said so answer me this fans. Don’t you think the Ultimate Warrior had many more zoom in pics, promos, or close-up shots than most? I’m not sure, but that camera always was going close to either his face or other physical traits of his. I might be biased but come on~ I still don’t wanna see nose hairs, earwax, or tonsils! I never did but it seemed that way sometimes didn’t it? Some guys also perhaps got those extreme close shots but honestly, I really don’t know. After all though, U.W. WAS the sexy rockstar at the time. Just sayin’… 😏🔥

Close-up number 1️⃣. Shortly after Warrior won the title from Hulk, they did this different promo of sorts. I have it on ” The Ultimate Collection” DVD but I’m sure it’s elsewhere. It starts like an outer space scene with lightning bolts all over. Then, colors shoot out of his eyes as they zoom in to his chest which has the painted logo and those flexed pecs, once again. He holds up the belt but yeah, didn’t know all that was going to happen when I first saw it. 🙂‍↔️ I actually did use that as a pic several years ago! Sorry Hulk fans, but I just can’t picture HIM doing that unless he did other types of promos as champ, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Close-up number 2️⃣. This one I actually got wrong at first as I was confusing interviews. I thought it was before an “SNME” match against Haku where Mean Gene interviewed U.W. but no! This one was shortly before the 1991 “Royal Rumble” where Gene (I got that part right) interviews the Ultimate Warrior prior to his “loss” against Sergeant Slaughter thanks to ” The Macho King.” 😡. Anyways, during that interview those pecs move again, although briefly. How do you guys do that anyway? 😂There were other times but these just came to my mind. You probably are thinking this is an entire post on THAT but I assure you, it is not! I just wanted to do another lighthearted one to escape from the CRAZY summer I’ve had and continue to have. If you’re not into this one, hopefully I’ll catch ya next week…

Close-up number 3️⃣ . This last one is also from 1991 which follows U.W.’s ongoing feud with ” The Macho King.” Warrior had to get his revenge during WMVII and he did. It was the only time he walked to the ring without running. I had never heard why but I could think of reasons. I love the duster jacket he wore with images of him and Randy, as well as the matching kneepads. That takes us to the trunks. Yep, ending with those again so no flexing of the glutes, ha ha! The cameras zoom in once more to see them in an extreme close-up. There’s a pic of the belt with the caption of ” Means More Than This.” THAT was also talked about on “Most Wanted Treasures” as I would’ve had no idea! I write my blogs almost a week in advance as some may know… I can’t imagine the camera shot though on that one!!! It DID mean more than the belt as Warrior respected Randy so much but got the three count for the pin just like today. At least I’m ending with something other than his chest, right?

Well, there you have it. If I notice any others, no part three despite us wrestling fans loving that count. No explanation either as true fans KNOW this is not my typical type of post which will echo Warrior’s trunk statement of “means more than this.” Yep, sure does~ especially as time went by. We are all more than what is perceived but in that business, you get those close-ups that is for sure. Those trunks could’ve been my pic this week but, NOOO… 🫨

I actually have an update on the magazine issue from last week. I’m just an honest person so I couldn’t stand it anymore! I decided to just open up PayPal and figure it out. I’m sure others do it all the time but I haven’t in several years. It just was so confusing to me as my payments usually went through a person, not a business email. I did apologize for the late transaction as I’m sure they have received it. My thing was~ I didn’t want them suing me or anything like that for not paying, ha ha. It was a month ago when all this started so I paid a little late, I’ve been BUSY! I also am not paying for both mags because that was their error so technically, I did get one free. Not returning it either so that’s on them. $25 for two magazines is still a lot even though they pay shipping. It’s a business though. Once in a while, freebies are nice and they don’t happen much so I’m taking it. It isn’t stealing like oops- ( those other stories… 🫣) but their mistake~ not mine.

They haven’t even asked for the money so quite possibly could’ve forgotten? My honesty gets in the way so I needed to rectify. I had a good month though, and it was a one time deal. Never again. You warriors enjoy the rest of this month as August is coming soon. Both my kids will be in college, how is that possible? 😵‍💫This mama heart of mine needs a calming break. Once they are settled in and begin school again, I will breathe easier but then have another set of worries. Such is the life I chose..

So, enjoy all the close-ups in your life warriors since they go by in the blink of an eye. My selfie for this month is coming, but nothing extreme and no flexing! 🤣

The Vacation Magazines 💙💙

This post has a lot of details BUT before getting into all of it, I heard WWE’s “Most Wanted Treasures” on A & E will FINALLY air The Ultimate Warrior episode this Sunday, July 14. Check your local listings to be sure so we will wait and see… 😬🤞🏻

Ok warriors, are you ready? Let’s start this match! As some readers may know, I have mentioned the 80s wrestling podcast guys on here a few times so those WWF magazines you see below are from them. The owner of ” The Wrestling Collector” store in New Jersey is a cohost on the podcast so quite often they have contests on Twitter or X ( if you will.) He will show a magazine, poster, some autographed merch, or anything similar. The first one to type ” CLAIM” gets it for whatever asking price, shipping paid. I had never done this, but decided to give it a try. I know they have to make money but $25 for one magazine seems steep to me. What the heck, I tried it and WON…

The magazine cover showed Ultimate Warrior after winning the IC belt from HTM (Honky Tonk Man.) it was November 1988 and the funny part is *THAT* was the same magazine I wrote about years ago. I was at the library as a senior in high school doing research and happened to come across that WWF issue in the stacks! So, after remembering that story, I played their game. They messaged me for shipping info and asked if this was Kathy from the podcast! Yeah, it was me. Payment was either PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or some others I never use. I mentioned PayPal and they gave me the store’s email. That was it. I have used PayPal in the past but wasn’t sure about their particular procedures, if there are any. Hmmm…

I waited a few days but no response back so I emailed them asking how to proceed with payment and got nothing. Our vacation (you knew that was coming from the title right?) was the next day so I kind of forgot about it. We were pulling out of the driveway on our way and my husband asked me to get the mail. I did and guess what? Yep, something was addressed to me from NJ. I couldn’t place it and hadn’t ordered anything recently. Then, after a bit, it hit me~ the magazine! As it turned out, it (or they) didn’t come with us as my daughter forgot her phone so we had to go back. Luckily, we hadn’t gone too far but perfect for me to put my package inside although I peeked a little. It was then I saw two, not one and neither was the cover they showed for the contest! What was going on? Maybe they do too many of these things as it gets mixed up! 🤪

So, both of them were from 1990 and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I only have one other WWF magazine from 1996 as I am no collector but to have both is ultimate!! More photos to come soon. The guys never have contacted me back at all, so no payment for them! Maybe Warrior himself helped me out on this… 🥰🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a few “funnies” from our trip too. The owners informed us that there was a snake, a 7 foot harmless non-poisonous one they named “Beatrice.” Later on, I saw a friend of hers, only much smaller. I was the only one to see the second one. I got close for some pics of Miss B, but she seemed to disappear after a storm. The owners have moved her, but she kept coming back to this big tree stump. I wonder if she’ll return to new guests? She was no Damien (Jake The Snake” Roberts snake for those wondering) but still. 🐍🐍😮

One of our first nights, my son was watching “SpiderMan 2” with his dad while his sister and I played a game. He decided to watch them all lately and this movie was from 2002. That was the year his dad and I got married, Warrior’s daughter Mattie was born, AND “Macho Man” Randy Savage was in this one. I knew that years ago, but had forgotten. His wrestling character’s name was “Chainsaw McGraw.” That I had to watch in order to know. Ah- Randy, thanks for being on our trip too, but stay away from Beatrice, ha ha! If you know how he got bit by Damien. 🫣

When driving home, we passed a fireworks store. 🎆 No, we didn’t stop then but did a few weeks later in Ohio as we were in Michigan then. The store’s name was SHANGO FIREWORKS… Yes, Kathy would notice that name. Maybe they were voodoo fireworks? If any wrestling readers know who Papa Shango was and his feud with The Ultimate Warrior. I’ll stay away though. 😂🤮Just kidding as I laughed like I usually do. The last tidbit was when my daughter and I went into the rest stop gift shop to get some candy for the way home. I bought us each a candy bar totaling $11.11 🍫That’s a great spiritual number if anyone follows that but I do so different number combos pop up on receipts for me from time to time. I love it, so cool. Thank you universe. WOW… 😉

Here’s another funny as one connects to the trip, the other one when we got back. The owners of our rental were Mark and SHERRY. We had a DANA 10 years ago on our very first rental and now a SHERRY. Warrior’s been gone 10 years so I’ll let you make that connection… Warrior was involved with 2️⃣ Sherrys- one personally and one professionally. That name can be spelled different ways. How about that?

Fast forward to after the vacation when I had to take my daughter for her wisdom teeth consult. We were sent to room 6️⃣ (welcome back number of mine) and later, the finance lady handling the money at the end was named Sherry. Oh my goodness, another laugh to myself warriors.

P.S. I’ll let you know if any more info comes my way about the magazine (s) as I probably can just go in and make the payment myself but I wasn’t sure? Oh, we left for our trip on 6-15. Our first full day there was 6-16, Father’s Day and Warrior’s birthday. Not planned on purpose, ever. Oh my.

“These Dreams Go On…” 😴

Another month is upon us~~~ July. I always loved this time when younger because it was the only month of no school, ha ha! That’s still applies to my kids but tomorrow here in the U.S. brings our Independence Day. I love fireworks 🎆 🎇🧨 always, but it scares our furry dog friends~ including mine. However you celebrate and if you do, stay safe. Happy birthday America! 🇺🇸 ❤️🤍💙Today though is my sometimes partner in crime’s birthday~ my brother. 🥳🎉 This year so far I wrote on my dad’s 80th, my daughter’s 18th, and now my bro’s! No milestone for him but yet another family birthday. I’ve had many other dates that fall on blog day and it continues.

The dreams continue as well, although not as frequent as before. I used part of a lyric above from the group “Heart” as music connects for me, regulars know this. A little while back 2️⃣ dreams came so I will share those today. They both showed different times in Warrior’s life but went in reverse. The first one was how he looked 10+ years ago, but the second one was probably mid 1996 with his long blond hair. I was there for both as the first one concerned an interview Warrior gave about his career. Not sure who was interviewing him, but I was nearby.

I can’t recall any specific questions, but I do know what Warrior said afterwards. He was questioning some of his answers, asking:” Did I say too much?” “I probably did, didn’t I?” “I rambled on, I shouldn’t have said all that…” Well, even though he said a few of those statements~ it all depends on what was being asked, I believe. Sometimes he would go on (as I tend to do…🤭) but then other times, he wouldn’t over share and that’s OK too. Warrior was always honest so perhaps he would not have regretted his answers but that’s what I heard while listening on the side~~~backstage if you will. That was the gist of the dream but we do tend to critique ourselves as I KNOW Warrior did during his final RAW speech too, but not sure of what was asked of him in this dream. I was glad to have been there witnessing one of his many interviews later on after he left the business and could contribute his own brand of speaking.

The second dream, I was more involved with. I wanted so badly to find a pic to use with a similar look of Warrior’s then, as I know I have seen a few. They were probably part of several workout videos he had put out there but I failed to find exactly the specifics of him wearing a white sweatshirt, red bandana, (like the workout vids) and had his long blond hair pulled back.

We were both sitting at a long table going through paperwork for some reason. The funny part is~ once again, my real life here intervenes. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted an old pic several years back of me sitting around our bonfire during the book club days. It was on Instagram. I had on a sleeveless red shirt as it was summer *** AND*** I was wearing that shirt in this dream! It actually started quite a different way. At first, it was me and my mom in my childhood home looking at old black-and-white family photos like a collage. Maybe that came to me because of my daughter’s project. She has been assembling a collage with all of her friends high school memories and it’s quite the task . I applaud and admire her efforts despite this crazy summer.

So, maybe those influenced my paperwork dream with Warrior, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️I could see him looking through much, handing it to me, signing stuff, etc. No idea what it all was about and no recollection of any convos either. I was obviously involved along with him in this project, and we seemed to keep it moving quickly! We were on a mission, that’s for sure. Think more like signing documents, not autographs. 🤔☺️

Well, there you have it warriors on this first post in July. 2️⃣ dreams showing Warrior in different aspects of his life with me “tag teaming” in, sort of. They were great to be part of since believe it or not, dreams are becoming quite rare these days. I know his energy is always there but we have evolved and as much as I miss those kinds of dreams, it is what it is. I did however, happen across a Bluejay feather last week on Wednesday~ yay! AND it was the day of an energy healing session for me. It was beautiful to receive because I decided on another practitioner of late and was a combo of nerves and excitement. 😬😁

As it turned out, she was adorable! She listened to me as I told my story, ( of course she became fascinated…😏) and I even showed her in the shop where a few of my books were. She is writing one too! Every day she comes into the store, she notices my book with its pop of color. 💚🩷🧡I received the sweetest compliments from her despite not really pursuing the author lifestyle. She pointed out my vulnerability and opening up to even write such stories so that touched my heart. It’s not a baby book anymore so hearing those words made me light up. 💡I will probably see her again and not just for the kind words. What a beautiful soul she is and we bonded over many things. 🤍

The Warrior WHAT’s?😏😬

Here we are at the end of another month warriors, as I resume these writings after taking last week off. More on that vacation in a different post as this one is “JACKED” with lots of well, you’ll get the idea if you just look at my selfie. It’s a fun one so I hope you stick around until the final bell rings🛎️if you will.

I initially wanted to call this post: “Things that Make you Go Hmmm…” like the C & C Music Factory song but decided to go with my own title instead. I thought of 5️⃣ things but numbers 3 and 5 I knew or at least were aware of prior. 3 are songs or lyrics and 2 reference gear or perhaps Warrior’s look at the time .

Let’s “lock up” and start this match.

Here’s number one.

First up is when Warrior partnered with Sting back when they were: “The Blade Runners.” The music they used was: Styx’s “Castle Walls.” This I had known for a while, but only because someone commented on a YouTube video. I did know that song, but forgot that instrumental part which totally fit with The Blade Runners vibe I think. Look up the song as there’s one lyric which struck me. It’s about destiny at the end. Do you think Warrior was influential with choosing the song or maybe it was chosen for them? I don’t know but just a little trivia once again. I can see him beginning his destiny even back then. This starts the Warrior WHAT’s?

Number two.

Did you fans know when Warrior was Dingo, his theme music briefly became Bonnie Tyler’s blockbuster hit: “Holding Out for a Hero” from the movie: “Footloose?” My girl just was part of her school musical in the spring, where the kids performed “Footloose” so very nostalgic for me. I love all the songs! 🥹I never knew he used that song, only “The Warrior” by Scandal. Perfect song for him, don’t you think? 

Number three.

This one is about Ultimate Warrior’s gear. This one is also probably quite common. Warrior had said he didn’t want to necessarily accentuate his looks but yeah, very much talked about~~~ A LOT… When Warrior and “Macho Man” Randy Savage tag teamed in a match versus “The Nasty Boys” during the SummerSlam Spectacular event in 1992, the Ultimate Warrior came out in a nude singlet. 😮If you read comments on this match from YouTube, the match itself barely gets mentioned but most are asking if Warrior was NAKED?! Really people? 🫢Use your brains, 🧠 but it just shows you what the topic mostly was about. Why did he wear that? Maybe just to garner more attention with him and Randy or to be different as he always was. I’m not entirely sure but boy was that ever the issue. Yeah, he painted his bare A**!!! 😂😜

Here’s number four.

We are back to songs again here. This one also references Warrior’s look as well (or at least in my mind…) Many fans may be aware of some guys after leaving WWF(E), went to Germany in 1995 with their CWA for a bit. Warrior had several matches but of course couldn’t use his theme music of “Unstable” so what to use? Well, I happened to come across some videos a while back as no, I am not looking them up all the time. I saw Warrior come out and thought that music sounded like a band I knew. I kept listening and then finally looked it up. The song is: ” Sticky Sweet” by Mötley Crüe. Not as popular on the radio as some of their others. That’s another song you can look up with some of the lyrics. Warrior was definitely playing to many of those physical attributes of his if you know the song. 😏 That brings out that girl who is always waving at me 🙋🏻‍♀️as I see her~~~ she makes me giggle but I don’t push her aside anymore. She is there for a reason, and I applaud 👏🏻 her. Great song and it worked for The Warrior for sure. I can be biased, but it’s all ME!!! He wore pants then too, there is a line in the song about that. 👖🔥😉

This last one of number five brings us to 1996 involving Ultimate Warrior’s feud with Jerry “The King” Lawler for “The King of the Ring” tournament. 👑This final one is that girl coming back… 🫣On “The Ultimate Collection” DVD, Warrior mentions how he was in the best shape of his life then and coming back after being gone 3.5 years, he wanted to give people what they remembered about the character~~~ namely, his look. They show right at that moment a clip of U.W. and I always noticed his trunks. You’ll read why… Maybe you don’t or haven’t but I just laughed once again right when he says: “his look…” ( meaning the U.W. character,) my head tilts the side. Why? Well, I’ll tell you… His trunks which of course depict the famous logo. He had put 2 on the front pointing inward along with the back so they are positioned just so on the side. Yep, I noticed. His look! Kathy had tilt, ha ha! I promise that is *** NOT*** typically me as I loved when his face paint would wear off but with that intro, how could I not make that connection? I was not always looking SOUTH! 🙂‍↔️Come on guys reading~~~ you notice the ladies and their physicalities right? Why were the logos sideways and not straight? Maybe there wasn’t enough room. WHY??? Always makes me giggle every time as Warrior knew what he was doing. I bet he noticed, but if not, it makes my WHAT’s? list for sure!

There you have it readers. My top 5 of Warrior WHAT’s that made me go hmmm. 🤔I bet you fans can think of your own. Maybe in a future post, I’ll list some others.

P.S. I laughed when writing this as some go way back in my memory but some found their way to me in other ways… Yeah, yeah, I still see her waving. 👋 ☺️

Be your OWN Storyteller…

All right, you caught me. I am using another bodybuilder pic for the second week, but I have to say this. When first deciding how I could finally get into that topic just a bit, the photo I thought of initially was that one below of Jim Hellwig, (a.k.a. Warrior) once again only this time on the cover of a magazine. Bodybuilding began his storytelling if you will, although chiropractic school garnered his interest as well. After that, it became pro wrestling. What a story he had and told but we all can do this, just in our own way. What makes a good storyteller? I sure hope you think I am with bringing you this content but today, I am highlighting another area here.

As years went by, Warrior began to use his voice more than his body and to me became that much more powerful. If you’ve seen any of his video work, you’ll know but that’s not what I’m referencing exactly. I love his stories but it’s *** HOW*** he came across to audiences that made a lasting impact. The people who were there heard him share the intensity, discipline, and lessons that made his life work. OK, sometimes there would be yelling or 🤬 but honestly- ( without being biased,) I could listen to him for hours. He just had such a compelling voice that I truly believed resonated with interested people. For those unfamiliar, just LISTEN for a bit. Even if I had never known him as a wrestler, I would be captivated by his storytelling.

I have written about my former book club leader Pam who is another one of these people. She had this way with words that would totally just make me melt. I had given several talks over the years and was always complimented, but I can’t hold a candle to these very gifted ones. Pam along with Warrior knew how to carry a room with just the power of their voices that generated such stories. My interest was held and still is. I wish Pam well in her retirement down in Tampa, Florida. I miss her. My spiritual mother that I truly needed… ❤️‍🩹

Another woman who had been mentioned mostly on my older blog about spirituality was Louise Hay. She founded “Hay House” and their smaller company of “Balboa Press” published my book- ” Spirit and Belief.” Oh look, another plug. I had to have a 3 count! 📗 Louise was a pioneer and truly helped so many people with her generosity, programs, and gifted healers. Even if you disagree or are skeptic, just listen to one of her many, many videos out there or read her books. You won’t walk away disappointed but lifted and energized. Her voice (like I believe I’ve said before) just makes me wanna curl up in her lap~~~ in a good way of course. She was another beautiful storyteller and had such a fascinating life. Feel free to look her up if wanting spiritual insight or just to hear a positive voice which may draw you in…

The last person I’m writing about today is brand new to the blog, but he came to me so we get two guys and two gals. This man I had met as a teen through church. No fretting, this is not meant to be religious at all so keep going with me. Deacon Stan would always blow me away with his preaching and I loved when he was a co-presider. Another wonderful storyteller with a transcending voice that made me pay attention better during a service. From age 5 to 95, he related to everyone. It didn’t matter the topic of discussion, I could’ve stayed in that pew for longer than an hour as I do believe he did give other talks to different groups. Fast forward many years later as we had changed churches. He gets assigned to the parish we originally belonged to! It’s complicated but we were back there and here he was. I was so excited to be part of his talks once more as an adult with kids of my own. Again, despite the religious part of all this, he still could hold a congregation with his soft demeanor, yet fair sounding voice. His stories mentioned family, personal experiences, and bringing a Creator into the conversation. He could’ve read or talked about anything and I’d be hooked. Remember that expression of : “he could read the phone book!” That doesn’t stand today but you get my point I’m sure.

Deacon Stan became ill and eventually passed away several years ago now. He was so young to me… 😞 I no longer attend any type of religious service but still did back then. I cried for days knowing we’d be without such a profound storyteller. 💔 I can only imagine him using his talent up above to captivate audiences still. His voice was just like Warrior, Pam, and Louise, who were able to bring their stories to life where others could not dismiss or ignore~~~ despite some possible resistance. Yes, 3 out of these 4 have passed on but will forever be remembered for the impact they made with their voice, actions, and storytelling. Do you know people like this? I hope you do and treasure what they bring forth.

*** My daughter is part of this post yet again because of her recent storytelling which made me well up. 🥹🥲 She decided to write letters to all her good friends as they graduated a few weeks ago. She did not tell any of them about her act, but wanted to say goodbye on her own terms for their high school years together. I hope her friends keep the letters she wrote of remembering all the stories they shared. I was overwhelmed by the desire to let her good friends know how much they meant to her. Writing is storytelling too, just in a different voice. ✍🏻

***On Father’s Day (like several years past,) it would’ve been Warrior’s 65th birthday. No big b-day post for him this year but that’s OK. We will be on vacation like 2 years ago for Father’s Day but not intentional. I’m taking next week off while we visit Michigan for a few days. We loved it there when my son graduated and now returning, only to a new area as my daughter just ended her high school years too. Her graduation was a beautiful night with many stories we will always treasure. I have said to tell your stories, however that looks whether you use your voice or the written word. You don’t have to be like Warrior, Pam, Louise, or Deacon Stan. Be the teller of YOUR stories so YOUR legacy will be felt by others willing to know it.

*** Get this~~~ I was at the store the other day copying photos to use for my daughter’s graduation party and the total came to $6.16. With tax the total came to $6.66. That can be a SCARY number to some but it’s me and my 6’s coming back once again… PLUS Warrior’s bday… 😉🫢 If I had added one more photo, I would not have had that total. I received a receipt totaling $6.16 a few years ago close to Warriors’s birthday as well.
