Rockin’ the Game💙💪🏻

Month number two 2️⃣ of 2025 is here. February is the shortest month but how about the date today of 2/5/25. Love that repetitive number, so cool. I hope it’s a great day for all you warriors out there. How are your goals going so far with this new year of beginnings? I’m trying new vitamins and finally did a celery detox. It’s really not that bad for all you who aren’t into one of the best vegetables for us. I’m not getting preachy but sometimes we need to just try something new and for me, it was a celery smoothie. Maybe I don’t need a list after all as I just go for what I want to try and see what happens. Keep going yourselves warriors and do the work!

That guy down below did the work as you fans know. Let’s get into that pic of a young Jim Hellwig when he was known as “ Rock” with “ The Blade Runners.” I had no idea how hairy he was! 😬 This photo I shared with my brother as we often play a guessing game of WWF(E) Superstars. Both of us see them on various media sites so this was the second one I sent to him of Warrior. The first one was of Jim as a teen that I saw from his biography a few years back. I stumped him with a teen photo and a Blade Runner one, win win for me! I will say he has stumped me more times though. So, I felt compelled to use that unrecognizable (to my brother) photo of “Rock” today.

Gearing up for the present, Triple H was just announced as the 1st inductee into the 2025 HOF class. The Ultimate Warrior was ALSO announced as the first inductee of the 2014 class 11 years ago. Triple H deserves this honor and I’m so happy for him. Some may not be fans of his and I did not follow his career much but nowadays, I know more. UW fans will remember how he was in that ring as part of WMXII being a young Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Triple H was also instrumental in bringing Warrior back to the WWE, as his career deserves to be recognized for all that it was. I’m very excited to hear his speech. Bring on “ The Game!” It’ll be an emotional one for sure.

Did any of you watch the Royal Rumble? I did not but just wanted to know results, surprises, or my interest in John Cena~~~ who is considered to be “The GOAT.” I did a post on that years ago if you readers can recall. Just look for a pic of an actual goat! 🐐 I thought that would be funny to use so glad I did. 35 years ago this past January brought Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior face-to-face for several seconds during 1990’s Royal Rumble. That was leading up to WMVI with its * BIG* anniversary coming in April, stay tuned! I am happy WWE still has these original PLE’s (formally PPV’s) that are part of their history. The big 4 will remain hopefully as they of course, added a few others over time.

Did you notice how I combined Warrior and Triple H for the title today? Sometimes, I just start writing without working on a subject too much and it just flows into one. “Rockin’ the Game” came to me so that was it. I can ask you all a question here as it does relate. How do you interpret that title above? You can rock your game in many ways by just kicking a** in whatever you do. That’s what Warrior did, would say, and I know Triple H is the same. I thank God he survived his heart surgeries of a few years ago as WWE needed him around, we all still do. He has made so many more positive changes as head of creative, I hope it continues.

Even though I do not watch their content, I decided to watch the most recent “ Saturday Night’s Main Event” a few weeks prior. I saw the entire show which I couldn’t do last time. I probably won’t again and despite talent of today, nostalgia will be there for me in many ways. UW is in the opening sequence too, and I will always love the entrance theme music. I hope it sticks around. 😁🎼

Look for a link at the end today of my write up on the 25th anniversary of WMXII back in 2021. It’s all about the trust developed between Warrior and Triple H overtime and how they formed a friendship. I reread it (obviously) so I only thought it fitting to include again. If you’ve already read it, I believe it’s worth another read! Just ignore the website info as previously stated since that no longer exists. Plus, ignore the vacation statement too. That was shortly after my ulcer…

Getting back to rockin’ the game here, warriors. Can you honestly say that about anything in your life? I can but then will never be an expert. It’s OK to feel good about our stuff as you know and all of you can relate to your strengths. Those weaknesses can improve too if you truly try. Just don’t push yourself to exhaustion because even though Warrior did in many aspects, most of us aren’t former bodybuilders or pro wrestlers. Do what you can, when you can, and feel proud of it all. You can still rock your game without going to extremes and that means in other ways too, not just the physical. There will always be someone who seems to be doing it better but don’t let that clothesline you down! Get up and stay in the match however it works for you. Whatever your “game” is, play it strong, bold, and brave like warriors do. Maybe Triple H was called “The Game” for many reasons besides wrestling. He had other names, but I like that one for him.

Rock your game, warriors . Become inducted in your own Hall of Fame as your own recipient. The only winner in any Royal Rumble needs to be the one who rocked it all to win it all. Always believe that winner is YOU

P.S. Here is the link to the 25th anniversary of WMXII with my thoughts on Warrior and Triple H’s friendship…

More Warrior Close-UPS 💙

I just had to do a continuation of a few weeks ago with ” The Warrior WHAT’s?” I told you I’d find some more and I did. If you look at the photo below, you’ll see number 5️⃣ on that list with the trunks that inspired my head tilt. Oh, and SPOILER ALERT… Most Wanted Treasures” mentioned THOSE trunks as I had no idea. 😉🤭 More on that in a few weeks. Glad that episode was finally shown- yay!!! They are there as I went- hmmm… 🤔 I wanted more sillies because I need to laugh. It is the dog days of summer, right? No, wait, that’s August. How about the lazy, hazy days? No, wait, I am seldom lazy. We all deserve to be from time to time though. After just having my daughter’s graduation party👩🏻‍🎓 (with many personalities there…) on Saturday, and her college orientation yesterday, this mom deserves a Warrior break so here it is for today.

It is a 3️⃣ count (as you haven’t read that in a while) with those Warrior close-ups he seemed to be more famous for than others. I had watched the old WWF for years like I’ve said so answer me this fans. Don’t you think the Ultimate Warrior had many more zoom in pics, promos, or close-up shots than most? I’m not sure, but that camera always was going close to either his face or other physical traits of his. I might be biased but come on~ I still don’t wanna see nose hairs, earwax, or tonsils! I never did but it seemed that way sometimes didn’t it? Some guys also perhaps got those extreme close shots but honestly, I really don’t know. After all though, U.W. WAS the sexy rockstar at the time. Just sayin’… 😏🔥

Close-up number 1️⃣. Shortly after Warrior won the title from Hulk, they did this different promo of sorts. I have it on ” The Ultimate Collection” DVD but I’m sure it’s elsewhere. It starts like an outer space scene with lightning bolts all over. Then, colors shoot out of his eyes as they zoom in to his chest which has the painted logo and those flexed pecs, once again. He holds up the belt but yeah, didn’t know all that was going to happen when I first saw it. 🙂‍↔️ I actually did use that as a pic several years ago! Sorry Hulk fans, but I just can’t picture HIM doing that unless he did other types of promos as champ, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Close-up number 2️⃣. This one I actually got wrong at first as I was confusing interviews. I thought it was before an “SNME” match against Haku where Mean Gene interviewed U.W. but no! This one was shortly before the 1991 “Royal Rumble” where Gene (I got that part right) interviews the Ultimate Warrior prior to his “loss” against Sergeant Slaughter thanks to ” The Macho King.” 😡. Anyways, during that interview those pecs move again, although briefly. How do you guys do that anyway? 😂There were other times but these just came to my mind. You probably are thinking this is an entire post on THAT but I assure you, it is not! I just wanted to do another lighthearted one to escape from the CRAZY summer I’ve had and continue to have. If you’re not into this one, hopefully I’ll catch ya next week…

Close-up number 3️⃣ . This last one is also from 1991 which follows U.W.’s ongoing feud with ” The Macho King.” Warrior had to get his revenge during WMVII and he did. It was the only time he walked to the ring without running. I had never heard why but I could think of reasons. I love the duster jacket he wore with images of him and Randy, as well as the matching kneepads. That takes us to the trunks. Yep, ending with those again so no flexing of the glutes, ha ha! The cameras zoom in once more to see them in an extreme close-up. There’s a pic of the belt with the caption of ” Means More Than This.” THAT was also talked about on “Most Wanted Treasures” as I would’ve had no idea! I write my blogs almost a week in advance as some may know… I can’t imagine the camera shot though on that one!!! It DID mean more than the belt as Warrior respected Randy so much but got the three count for the pin just like today. At least I’m ending with something other than his chest, right?

Well, there you have it. If I notice any others, no part three despite us wrestling fans loving that count. No explanation either as true fans KNOW this is not my typical type of post which will echo Warrior’s trunk statement of “means more than this.” Yep, sure does~ especially as time went by. We are all more than what is perceived but in that business, you get those close-ups that is for sure. Those trunks could’ve been my pic this week but, NOOO… 🫨

I actually have an update on the magazine issue from last week. I’m just an honest person so I couldn’t stand it anymore! I decided to just open up PayPal and figure it out. I’m sure others do it all the time but I haven’t in several years. It just was so confusing to me as my payments usually went through a person, not a business email. I did apologize for the late transaction as I’m sure they have received it. My thing was~ I didn’t want them suing me or anything like that for not paying, ha ha. It was a month ago when all this started so I paid a little late, I’ve been BUSY! I also am not paying for both mags because that was their error so technically, I did get one free. Not returning it either so that’s on them. $25 for two magazines is still a lot even though they pay shipping. It’s a business though. Once in a while, freebies are nice and they don’t happen much so I’m taking it. It isn’t stealing like oops- ( those other stories… 🫣) but their mistake~ not mine.

They haven’t even asked for the money so quite possibly could’ve forgotten? My honesty gets in the way so I needed to rectify. I had a good month though, and it was a one time deal. Never again. You warriors enjoy the rest of this month as August is coming soon. Both my kids will be in college, how is that possible? 😵‍💫This mama heart of mine needs a calming break. Once they are settled in and begin school again, I will breathe easier but then have another set of worries. Such is the life I chose..

So, enjoy all the close-ups in your life warriors since they go by in the blink of an eye. My selfie for this month is coming, but nothing extreme and no flexing! 🤣

P.S. Us girls cannot flex those pecs on our chest, but we can shimmy! 💃

Turn the Page 📖💚💜

Yes, OK warriors~~~ I DID sing the Bob Seger song in my head when today’s title came to me but it kind of fits for a New Year, don’t you think? We have to keep turning the pages of our “book” because that’s what life is all about. Some of us even have to rewrite an entirely new one over time but one chapter always leads into the next. Don’t panic, this isn’t another post on a book for all of you still absorbing last week’s. No, no, no. This one is a culmination of sorts with all that will be happening in my life during 2024 plus some other wrestling dates mixed in. Oh, and then there’s THIS… My husband and I were walking into Costco’s the other day and “Turn the Page” was playing on the speaker! I have never paid attention to see if music is played in there. I can’t make this stuff up… 😮🤭

This time of year always fills me with nostalgia, as I reflect on those bigger signs which started much on this warrior journey for me. I just celebrated 8️⃣ years of meditation in late December. Not a milestone, but it certainly culminated in bringing forth the DREAMS that began in 2016 and continue today. I often find myself rereading those passages from my book, “Spirit and Belief.I had little signs after Warrior passed (which most of you know) but January 2016 brought a year full of ultimate surprises. Let’s stay within a timeframe if I can here. I read on a few social sites how Jimmy Hart just turned 80! How has he not aged? I wish him so much happiness in that new decade he is beginning. Both of my parents will be joining Jimmy with that age this year. Those are ***BIG*** milestones indeed. 🎉

It will be 10 years in a few days on the 13th since it was announced that the Ultimate Warrior would be part of the 2014 WWE HOF class. (see pic ⬇️) His other dates are coming but I’m not getting into those today. Staying in January, we have the Royal Rumble coming soon. I pay little attention but know enough as previously stated. I just remember years past in the WWF days but CRINGE 😬 moment for 1991. Ah well, then we wouldn’t have had that great match at WMVII between Ultimate Warrior and “Macho King” Randy Savage. Speaking of which, WrestleMania will be turning 40 this year so that is another HUGE event. There’s so many possibilities as fans look to Roman Reigns maybe beating Hulk Hogan’s “reign” as champ soon. I’m thinking that will be around SummerSlam but you never know. Hulkamania also turned 40. I’m feeling old now…… 😳 This year is crazy and it isn’t even halfway through yet. Another sidenote here is (and I’ve done this before) but anything that happened in 1989 was 35 years ago this year. You can think of your life and not just my wrestling dates. This time in 1989 I was a junior in high school! Some of you readers might not have even been born… Of course I am biased to SummerSlam that year when U.W. got back the I.C. Belt from Ravishing Rick Rude. 35 years ago in August. My, oh my.

I’m mixing up the year now so all the pages turned are out of order but wanted to touch on some WWE events first. My family year is another busy one for sure. My son will no longer be a teen in March and my daughter will turn 18 in May. She will graduate high school and begin college in the fall. 🥺Time really does make us turn the page whether we want to or not just like reading a book. I’m reading another goodie, but no mention on here this time…

By November, my husband and I will have known each other 25 years. We met on a blind date and I had to do the math to remember that one but it’s coming. There will be 2️⃣ weddings in my family also. My brother’s second along with one of his daughters, (my niece.) No dates on those but both will be this year. Think I need to catch my breath for a few moments. 😮

Do any of you have a big year with events coming up in 2024? We all do but sometimes it’s nice to have them spread out more, right? Whatever comes your way~ just gear up and be the warrior you need to be. It does make the year go fast when we have much going on but life needs to keep moving. I just don’t want it running by as fast as the Ultimate Warrior did to the ring! Emotional times need to be cherished and I so hope despite my crazy year, I will have those moments to just *BE* which I need to do. Reflections are nice, and we need to pause through them if we can but just don’t buy a ticket to the arena of your past.

I do have the lyrics to “Turn the Page” in front of me as Metallica also recorded that song after Bob Seger years later. If there were others, I’m not sure but I do hear it sometimes during my workout. We are all up on that stage, (wait…that was another dream…) playing star again on the pages of our lives. We might not be in the spotlight like Ultimate Warrior and wrestlers were or are, but we all use every ounce of energy to perform as characters in books written by ourselves.

From January to December~ , it’s a brand new year filled with ups, downs, joys, and sorrows, but live it well instead of just going through the motions. Challenge yourself, even in adversity. Set new goals. Become a new YOU in various ways. You might not have the huge events coming like me but this year of 2024 will never happen again so make it count. It adds up to 8️⃣ so if you’re into it spiritually~~~ all positivity for sure. It is infinity sideways so take that as you will. Turn the page always warriors even though it might be hard. Life is about choices but like I said last week- “It’s your Soul’s chance to be HERE.” … That’s worth repeating. Look back in December and say “I turned the page and truly LIVED this year.” 🤍

P.S. Don’t get me started on a BIG milestone of a certain WM next year!

P.P.S. I DID find my elf pic and Diana doll in the attic cleaning for those wanting to know! Read that post a few weeks back… 🥰

The Stories We Tell… 🤫🙄😬

Oh, my yes. The stories we tell, they tell, she tells, he tells, or anybody else tells. I’m bringing wrestling back into this arena for a topic today. First off though, who remembers (yes, you have to be older here!) playing the game of “telephone” as a kid? One person would whisper a saying or phrase in another’s ear, and then it gets passed through the group until the last one says it out loud. If you get it right, super! Most times, it is all mixed up and misunderstood. Then, we have a good laugh but as adults, that isn’t always the case. We will get things off about a story from time to time. Sometimes, it can be a memory loss but other times, it can be to keep our ego in check. We might recall an event different than another but is it because it’s too far in our past or because we want to feel better? If you’re wrong, just own up to it as I am doing but others will not ever or just keep telling that story to not be the “bad guy.”

Sergeant Slaughter didn’t start out as a bad guy (a.k.a. “Razor Ramon”) but then later on, he became one. That photo below depicts Ultimate Warrior shooting one of several Sgt. Slaughter promos before their 1991 “Royal Rumble” match. U.W. fans know all too well what happened but here’s a story that’s been told by Sarge himself. I do like Sarge and so glad he and Warrior had a funny reunion moment backstage at the 2014 HOF but about that match… I recently heard him on “80’s wrestling the podcast” and my~~~ is he quite the storyteller! Very interesting guy to listen to and maybe fans know his version of their R. R. match.

According to Sarge, he had no idea Randy was going to hit U.W. in the head with the “royal” scepter, and knock him out. He claims Warrior wasn’t moving so Sarge went in for the cover, pinned U.W. and became the new champ which set him up to wrestle Hulk at WMVII . OK, I have some discrepancies with that. On “The Ultimate Collection” and “Always Believe” DVD’s , Warrior explains how they came to him (meaning Vince and whoever else,) and said Randy would get him to lose the belt which would then set up for WMVII being Sarge versus Hulk plus the retirement match between Warrior and Randy. Warrior says he liked the idea and didn’t really give it much more thought than that.

I could be naïve when it comes to wrestling “scripts” as guys went rogue from time to time, but REALLY? One would not be told all that when winning a title belt and the BIGGEST one? Vince loved Sarge. Come on Sarge, what’s going on there? He knew he’d be winning, but maybe not getting the pin at that exact moment of Warrior getting knocked out. He tells the story of thinking Randy really clobbered Warrior with that scepter since he used to play baseball so maybe…? 🤔 Was Warrior really knocked unconscious for a bit? I don’t know and don’t believe he ever addressed that in any interview I have seen. Perhaps nobody ever thought to ask Warrior about that. Would Vince just let them be that spontaneous when a title was on the line? Why wouldn’t Sarge know? So many questions. Quite possibly this is a story WWE wants Sarge to tell for dramatic reasons but we all are guilty of these E’s~~~ embellish, exaggerate, and eliminating parts. Yep, it’s true. We might even elaborate, but with me, it’s a good thing.

Maybe in fame, the stories they tell need those E’s to create a ruse with fans keeping them guessing all these years later. I’m not sure, but in real life honesty matters as there are those who still want to always come out looking good. If anyone can correctly tell the REAL story of that 1991 Rumble match, I would love to hear it. Many folks in these wrestling circles just assume without even checking other sources. Maybe Warrior knew more as well but he isn’t here anymore to ask. Sarge is though. It’s a great story but filled with gaps if you ask me.

What stories have you told that maybe got another wondering about the details? I can think of many and most involve my siblings and remembering memories just a little differently. I’m rarely wrong because of my memory as I stated before but sometimes, a few people are WAY off. It bugs me. The wrestling business is filled with tons of stories told. Just watch those “shoot” interviews I’ve mentioned which I don’t anymore . I so wish fans would stop posting when most are against Warrior .UGH! If you’re in a “fan” group, why bother? It just causes weird drama and comments we don’t need despite what happened in the past. People want their “say” though… “The right story is the full story” like Warrior said, but others may disagree on its validity.

We may not share or tell a story in its entirety for many reasons as Warrior might not have either but sometimes, that’s OK. We all have privacy but also details might not matter in a few areas. It all depends. What bothers me is when I have a happy memory and someone doesn’t remember it the same. 😧 That makes me sad but our memories can be selective. It isn’t just when older either. I do hope the Sarge Rumble story will one day be told correctly but until then, I will have my doubts. I don’t share or tell all MY stories either for my own purposes but when I do, it’s me in all honesty. Fame does have its price but it’s too hefty of a price tag for me… 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😑

P.S. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had told a story on his series “Young Rock” about a time very early in his career on finally getting a push in the business. Whoever he wrestled that night back as Rocky Maivia,( I forget who…) his opponent told him IN the ring- I believe, how “Rocky” would get his first big win. He had no idea and was shocked at the time to know that. So, it happens am sure and maybe today as well, no clue.. That was NOT for a title though!

Building the Hype

This photo you see was from WWF’s (now WWE’s) Royal Rumble of ’89 when the Ultimate Warrior agreed to do a pose down with Ravishing Rick Rude. That built the hype for their WrestleMania V match and then SummerSlam later in the year as their feud continued. Warrior also had hype the following year at the Rumble only that time it was between Hulk Hogan which of course led to their WMVI Ultimate Challenge. This can also be said for many of those wrestling Superstars of back then and today. We need to build hype because it’s part of us in every area of life professionally and personally.

Have you ever planned something for a while – even months or more perhaps and then it’s all over just like that? Think about the hype for a wedding which can be stressful but also exciting. When the big day finally comes, it goes so fast and then the hype is all a memory. Sure, you’ll have more hype throughout a marriage but the wedding stuff is done. What about the hype before a new baby comes? That’s true too. You have 9 months of building and planning and then after the baby’s born, more hype begins as their life starts.

For me as a teacher, there was always hype before many special events with those littles. Christmas parties, art shows, and of course graduation were all built up. We never used “Pomp and Circumstance” though! That was a few weeks ago. Another memory of mine was high school choir. I know, that again but it fits here. We would start practicing and building hype for a Holiday Christmas concert in mid-October! Yep, some songs were quite difficult but when you receive a standing ovation for “Hallelujah Chorus,” the hype was well worth it. It is not the destination, it’s the journey. Remember that warriors.

You can apply this to other smaller topics like watching a movie, reading a book, or studying for a test. The hype needs to happen or we miss the middle. You can’t be at a finish line without running the whole race either. What hypes have been built up in your life where the planning was longer than the actual event? I look to my kids now and all their hard work with Marching Band. They practice and rehearse all these songs for shows and then after about 20 minutes or so, it ends. Sure, they repeat performances at different football games but by then, they know it well.

For some of you, maybe the hype or planning is missed when your big event is over. Guess what though? You’ll always be planning for the next best thing with more hype so don’t worry. O.K., you’ll fondly look back on the past but as with everything, we must continue moving forward- new hype and all.

I cannot imagine being a pro athlete with all that hype. How would I be? Warrior amped up his character to get fans all hyped on the excitement. Our brains thrive on the adrenaline rush we get from building hype but then feel let down when it ends. Warrior was always thinking of what’s next but then finally left the wrestling hype behind for family hype. It was still there, just in a new way as it is for all families. In sports, that hype is on a whole other level. If on a team, you want that championship cup, trophy, belt, or ring. Once won- do you keep going down that road together or go separate ways? You probably want to win more and once hype gets on you, it’s hard to get it off. Much more is expected and the hype continues to build.

Being a single performer is sorta the same only with one mind to think of. After winning a title, that hype gets celebrated but then you need to think of your next career move. Your title reign may end faster than it built up. The journey becomes in how you continue staying relevant with more new hype on your future step.

So, warriors let’s build our hype for a goal but keep pushing ourselves to more adventures and excitement. We do need downtime though. Warrior did too but rarely took any before his next hype got built up again. My hype with this blog was unexpected. Once I decided to publish my stories, the hype built into a book called Spirit and Belief. That wasn’t a dream at all in the beginning.

You’ll know your stories in life with much hype too and for Warrior, us fans know it all. O.K., maybe I don’t know it ALL but the big stuff- OH YEAH! Thanks Randy… Enjoy the hype because we should. Our emotions matter because without them, the buildup wouldn’t exist. Life is about hype – the big and small. Let’s take it all because as warriors, we thrive on it…

P.S. I did post to the U.W. Facebook groups but how about this? Sept. 17th marked 5 years of the batteries 🔋 🔋story in my book and I got another sign that day this year. It had also been 5 years since I had seen that blue U.W. shirt which Lebron James wore when the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA title in 2016. A guy was wearing it around my neighborhood. Well, at my son’s Senior Night last week, a guy passed me with that shirt on! 👕💙👏🏻

Peel Those Layers 🎨

*** This post is a day early so Warrior Tuesday today. Our dog is having ACL surgery tomorrow so my mind will be elsewhere. Send her prayers!! 🐶🙏🏻***

I know, I know… I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again. Even though I LOVED all the colors Warrior used for his mask over the years, I liked when that paint got peeled off so I could see him underneath. Yes fans, I realize that paint was so iconic to his character and some didn’t like the unpainted look for a time. He wouldn’t be the Ultimate Warrior without it, right? I get it- believe me warriors.

Did you ever start peeling off chipped or cracked paint and just had to keep going? It was driving you nuts!! I’ve done that before and am doing it now with my nail polish. Maybe some of you aren’t bothered by it at all but of course this just really isn’t about paint. You know that if you’ve read my posts before. The Ultimate Warrior had his masks, we all have ours in a way but let’s get to the real stuff underneath. I compare it to peeling an onion. You can say orange but an onion has more layers and will make you cry! We gotta do that to get through it all. The peeling and the crying.

Do you feel the need to “peel off” or “peel away” what no longer serves a purpose in your life? Oh boy, I’ve been doing this for years now and it’s still going on. I mention some things in my book Spirit and Belief and how I was moving away from old habits, people, food, and yes- even beliefs. It’s part of my awakening and we all have our own versions whether or not you consider yourself spiritual . Warrior had his too. We have to peel off the old to make room for the new. That’s how it was for Hulk Hogan ( yes, he’s mentioned here again) when he “peeled” off his Heavyweight title to make room for the NEW which became the Ultimate Warrior as champion. Yes, it was hard for him to do that. We all probably know the stories but it’s hard for US to peel off stuff or situations we become very attached to. We hold on so tight because we are afraid of anything new. Does this sound like you?

Even the simplest things can be difficult to peel away since they have been with us so long. Routines can be hard enough to change but what about relationships, jobs, or a big life decision? Yeah, those require much more from us and lots of peeling. When I peeled back my paint of layers, there never seemed to be an end. Once I thought I got thru one, more kept coming. It’s for life warriors, it really is. We have to keep peeling to get to what we truly need. Literally, you’d get to the inside of that onion but I’m talking about life issues here of course.

I’ve had to peel away these physical symptoms to find what really caused them and it isn’t typical at all. I am more educated now about the realness of my layers and am still learning all the time. It doesn’t have to be negative at all although our fears tend to take over. It is teaching us something and we, as warriors will fight on thru those layers. I bet you even know what some of yours are. I know Warrior did also as very few saw underneath to his true self. Maybe you just don’t connect to something much anymore yet still the paint remains. It could be crumbling or fading but you keep it because it’s yours. It’s familiar, comfortable, and convenient. You know what I’m saying, don’t ya?

Those layers could go deep and be stuck so hard, nothing can get it off. It will be a struggle but if we stay the same, we won’t grow. Rooms in our houses need new paint over time, a car might, and yes the Ultimate Warrior needed new paint too. I know some people that never change much at all and are perfectly content. I do keep some things the same for a bit but then get bored and need to mix it up. Us warriors are not robots as you may know. Change is part of life with all its painted layers. We feel it all- the ugly, bad, good, and great which will come. We just have to believe it’s underneath that painted face or even onion.

We do need to start over in new ways and we’ll know when that is. Sometimes, the signs are right in front of us but we ignore them. Other times, we realize those signs are pointing us in a new direction that will be better for us even though we may not know it then. Warrior leaving the business of wrestling comes to mind for me here but I can connect my life too like I always do.

Keep peeling those layers so the real you can shine through. That paint will come off if you work hard enough. It may not peel as easily as the Ultimate Warrior’s mask but once it does, a new colorful you will take its place. Throw that smelly 🧅 away and enjoy a good cry. It’s exactly what you need to see the truth behind those layers you fought against.

P.S. That photo above of U.W. was taken during the Royal Rumble of ’90 when he and Hogan were in the ring together. A “what if” moment of last week! I hope this post was “a- peeling” for you (: Stop crying!!!
