Time for Transitions πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ’Ž

I really shouldn’t be writing today at all but I am. The reason being is that it is my (our) 20th wedding anniversary. πŸ’• Guess I’m sharing this day with Warrior writings, imagine that. πŸ₯° Don’t think one of these Wednesdays has ever been a milestone in my life, just Warrior’s. Another first as I continue. I have a personal birthday milestone coming up in a month but it doesn’t fall on a Wednesday!οΏΌ

That pic you see of Warrior was from a promo he made after “Macho King” Randy Savage cost him to lose the heavy weight belt to Sgt. Slaughter at the Royal Rumble of 1991. This led up to WMVII’s “Career Ending” match between Warrior and Randy. If you give this one a listen or know of it at all, Warrior mentions “the 15 stitches in the top of my head” incurred as a result of that scepter hitting him “unconscious” so he loses the belt. I love how he mentions a crystal that the doctors left in. So dramatic indeed as a reminder of “Macho King’s” kingdom but also a reference to a piece of the WWF title that had belonged to both of them at one time. I have worked with REAL crystals as part of my spiritual practice for years. They are very powerful. That is of course if you believe in all that which I do. I did save that promo but not just for the crystal reference, ha ha.οΏΌ

That brings us to this title of transitions today. Warrior didn’t mind that transition of losing the belt to Sarge as he wasn’t about having one all the time. That was easy for him as some things in all of our lives are not that hard transitioning to. Me, well– that word itself is HARD in my life but accepting it and evolving we must all do. My son is transitioning to college in just a few days for a full week of band camp before classes officially begin. That day is jam packed with lots of other stuff-believe it or not so no time to dwell until later on when it will HIT me. Yes, we will see him soon enough but not daily and I need my warrior strength to get me through.οΏΌ

We all have those transitional times in our lives that are such biggies and as parents, it’s a constant watching our kiddos grow. This has definitely been a HUGE milestone year for me but as a warrior, I battle on like we all need to do. How do you handle those transitory times in your life? I bet some are pretty easy but then the big decisions require more thought and emotion for sure. I had a simple transition from marriage and then motherhood as those were goals I was very prepared and ready to take on. Plus, a career before hand which I strived for and loved. That went into marriage briefly but not mothering.οΏΌ

I can mention the WWF transitioning from Hulk to Warrior but that’s been brought up enough so I’ll let that be. Oh, many professional and personal things that were part of Warrior’s life that he had to transition into and some of course we will never experience but look at your own. What’s been the hardest to do and why is it that way? The easy stuff comes and goes in the blink of an eye but some linger and take much longer. I’ve mentioned before about Warrior making his transition to “parts unknown” as that is our biggest on Earth when those life lessons are done. Not to dwell on sorrow so let’s go to the joy. Despite negative parts of our transitions, we can and will get to the good eventually.οΏΌ

These past few years have especially been in transit for me in many ways from being scared and unsure to finding answers and relief. I believe our entire lives are filled with constant transitions really but at times, we need space to just relax and breathe. If you have a hard time doing anything else, remember that breath inside you which gives you life every single day. Warrior said this often. Besides that, another factor we need is rest. Yes, that was extremely hard for Warrior to do and I was never a napper much either. Transition for sure. I take naps sometimes now as my body tells me when they are needed.οΏΌ

Even little things like breathing and resting we take for granted and never think those would concern us. Well, our lives all take different turns and despite my objections, was told I needed to be mindful in order to heal. Transitions are hard warriors but fighting them means they stick around. What we resist, persists. Have you heard of that? It’s true. Most of us don’t get what we truly need but we try all the time or at least we should anyways. Not sure if Warrior was ever a napper much (probably not) but he came around over the years to being more aware of the little stuff that amounts to the big. I do believe he was always knowing in many aspects but got those chances with time to slow down in a different way. Maybe it wasn’t our way of slowing but it was his and he transitioned like he needed to.οΏΌ

That’s it for now warriors as I transition to whatever else this day of my 20 years of married life brings. I already meditated and used some crystals so that’s my slowing down and breathing time. Warrior doesn’t need a crystal to be in his kingdom. He shines brighter than any diamond as a spirit all the time. Let’s move through all our transitions the best we can. Remember to BREATHE and always REST…

All The Likes #30 πŸ’™πŸ’™

We have made it to yet another DATE of a milestone. WrestleMania VII was 30 years ago TODAY which is blog day for me. Another one is coming next week, who can guess? πŸ€”For today, it’s those two above that I have all the likes for. I’ve done enough posts on them together but of course had to celebrate their WrestleMania as friends. They also had all the likes and respect for one another and I know with their energy, they still do…

I decided to get back with a more easy going topic and it’s been in my head a while now. These silly things made me go back and forth with sharing but as many know, ideas come running just like the Ultimate Warrior himself! WMVII was the ONLY time he never ran to the ring, hmmm… This one is about a few of the “likes” Warrior and I both have but not exactly similar to past posts. I’ve mentioned libraries or books, a movie, (The Lion King) music or songs,(think the band Firehouse) climate, geography, and even our beliefs. Now, it’s time for food.

Yes, we all probably remember how disciplined Warrior was with eating but a few items stand out for me. Fans will recall he and Steve Borden (Sting) eating tuna out of a can and then Warrior continued that years later. I did post about a missing tuna can once and have eaten it out of a can as well. It does have a bit of a kick that’s for sure! 😳🐟

I have fond childhood memories of my mom making tuna fish sandwiches or tuna on toast and even on saltines. Always loved it. Maybe you do too but I still love it today. It just makes me smile thinking of Warrior. I know he ate it for different reasons and yes- it is good for you, minus the mayo and extras! All the likes here too.

Another “foodie” is coffee ice cream. I can’t have either of those right now because of my “tummy issues” but here’s my fun connector with Warrior. Way back, Dana had mentioned Warrior’s like of coffee ice cream. Very rarely did he indulge but it made me think of a story that happened almost 19 years ago. I had always wanted to try it but knew I’d be up all night since coffee affects me. It is not a morning treat for me together. My husband and I were on our honeymoon in the Poconos of PA which I have also mentioned before too. If I could attach another pic here, I would. He took a photo of me standing on top of Mt. Pocono holding my coffee ice cream cone. So, in case any are wondering- nope, didn’t sleep much that night considering I had this yumminess later in the day. All the likes though yet again.

The last food reference ( ya know there had to be a 3 count!) would be chocolate almonds. I have always loved nuts but another no-no for me right now, ugh! Dana had shared more little insights into Warrior likes and this was one of them. I think she talked about when they’d all go to the movies and chocolate almonds were his choice. Am sure again it was a rare experience but enough for me to keep in my brain. One day shortly after knowing that, my husband brought home a bag and set it on our kitchen counter. I gasped thinking how I just found out about chocolate almonds and Warrior. He says to me: “We never had these before and I thought you’d like them.” I just stared at the bag and chuckled. All the likes one more time.

You may be thinking that I copied or emulated Warrior but I assure you that is not nor will it ever be the case with me. Another post was written about not doing things because someone else does them or likes them. This is just me being me. I will admit thought how it is very different when a celebrity likes or liked something you do and how it makes one feel. It’s not the same as when let’s say you and your aunt both like olives on pizza. Your reaction is not going to be anything close to the reaction with a famous person.

You also may have these food stories or others I’ve mentioned similar to Warrior. Many of you will also have tons more to add with my list. I just shared to give everyone a good laugh and to remind how we are just people deep down with all the likes. I don’t go searching for connectors but like to know we had stuff in common. Fans do that in their own way, including me. You may agree or think I’m “nuts” ( pun intended!) but ah well, these are my writings after all!!!

I will always have all the likes for those two Superstars together and not just with their WMVII match. I will also have all the likes with Warrior that are forever in my memory. You will have yours too. Just laugh about them and know we are all connected in many ways. HAPPY 30th WMVII!!!!!!! 3/24/91.

P.S. I wonder if there were any foods Randy really liked? I have heard how he drank LOTS of coffee! πŸ˜‚β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

What’s Your Plan B?

Several weeks ago I mentioned how “It’s Never One Thing” as to why we like or dislike things. I discussed hobbies or interests and your feelings behind them. This post takes that idea a little further. I made you a YouTube video that I’ll link at the end since we all need a plan B. So many times I’ve said how glad I felt that Warrior always had a plan B. I have several as well. Do you? Once your 9-5 has possibly ended for that time in your life, then what? Warrior had other outlets besides wrestling and I have others besides this blog! If this scares you a little, maybe that’s good.

My advice is to become interested in other activities now before your actual “career” comes to an end. Nobody wants panic to set in without going to that job everyday. That brings us to the word of retirement. Some love that word, others dread it. Most that dread it don’t have a plan B.

Sure, the Ultimate Warrior had that “retirement” match with “Macho King” Randy Savage in Wrestlemania VII. Well, that was on T.V. although unprecedented for the WWE then. Retirement isn’t what it used to be. Not many begin that chapter at age 65 anymore, move to Florida, or travel in a Winnebago. Where did all that come from anyway? Some may never fully retire as is the case concerning a few people connected with WWE.

Many have children now as Superstars or are involved in the business with other aspects. I have always agreed with Warrior about moving on but he does state on the Ultimate Collection DVD how respect is given to those “who live and breathe the business.” Being a pro athlete takes its toll physically, mentally, and psychologically. Some may never fully leave the company but there are so many other opportunities now. There are lots of athletes that start their own business after retiring and some disconnect from their sport entirely.

There are even those who “semi-retire” but miss it so much, they return a year or so later. For us who aren’t athletes, we need to consider many things. Finances, travel, family, hobbies, or anything suitable to your life. I for one still hope to be able to do my activities that fill me with such joy. I love them now so when I’m older, they’ll still be there for me (hopefully!) Start brainstorming if you don’t have some sort of plan B in place for yourself.

I’m not suggesting anything too dangerous or unsafe here! Just maybe try something new and different but start small. Do those things that you never had time for in your life prior to retirement. Like Warrior said:“Learn everything.” You might just surprise yourself with what you can do and learn. Don’t become too advanced in years that you are unable to enjoy your Plan B.

No need to dwell too much but make it a little thought in your mind once in a while. I personally will never be that couch potato who watches the News and Weather Channel! If that’s you, no offense but it’ll never be me. Retirement shouldn’t be too sedentary. Sure, we deserve it after years and years at the job but the body and mind still need activity. You are the one who can use both but only if you want.

Write down some plan B ideas but truly make them matter. After all, they are yours to fulfill. Retirement does indeed look different for each of us but always believe in the Plan B of your life. It will make a difference in a uniquely ultimate way!

P.S. I recently found out the animated Disney movie “Sleeping Beauty” is also turning 60 this year just like Warrior would’ve been. I had a music box in a photo with the post “Creative Collections.” It’s my favorite Princess movie. Warrior actually said at the beginning of a video: “Wake up Sleeping Beauty!” ~~ Wake up to the Plan B of your life!! πŸ˜΄πŸ‘‘πŸŒ™

P.P.S. Here is my YouTube video titled: “Always Be Multi-Passionate.”
