Hi ya warriors! It’s now 2022, hard to imagine. Make those New Years Resolutions achievable because as warriors, it’s what we do! I love that quote above because it just reminds me of how the Ultimate Warrior referenced those gods and boy, did they deliver for his success. Plus, Warrior mentioned Joseph Campbell as an inspiration while he continued following his own destiny.
Are you following yours? Some may not be fully aware but if you are loving what you do, that’s a clue. 😏 I wanted to show a pic of Warrior’s Gym since that became part of his destiny also. It may not have been around that long but he took a chance and went for it anyway. Warrior wanted to be a businessman and entrepreneur so he listened to his inner voice which kept leading him towards his destiny. We do need to take those risks sometimes despite potential outcomes and Warrior had plenty of those. Have any of you ever or are you still running your own business? If it wasn’t successful, do you live with regret or accept it as a lesson in your destiny?
Fear does hold us back but we’ll never know what experiences we can have if we don’t ever try.
My father-in-law years ago ran a bar for many years with a good friend called “The Brew Room.” It was risky and upset my mother-in-law ( so I’ve heard) but was profitable for many years. It kept him away during nighttime hours but brought in extra cash the family needed. When it failed, there was some resentment but they followed an idea which was their destiny.
I knew of two other ladies who opened a business that thrived for a bit and then closed their doors for good. One was a restaurant which hosted some yoga events and the other was a cute little children’s resale shop. I loved “The Lazy Beehive” for its nice relaxing atmosphere that wasn’t far from my house near a small college town. It appealed to almost everyone and the college kids had a bar next door. I guess she wasn’t “college” enough to stick around and got bad-mouthed by some in the community. It was so unfortunate and very sad. 🐝 The owner is now pursuing a degree in the medical profession I believe which became her true destiny after all.
The children’s shop was another favorite of mine as there were tons of affordable clothes, toys, books, and more for young kids. I even sold her many of my babies outgrown or done being played with items. This woman was very successful with her business and seemed to be doing quite well. We became friends and knew of each others backgrounds and families. It was always such good conversation. She outgrew the space and moved to a bigger location. The shop wasn’t there long until it closed permanently. I was so upset and shocked as she seemed to be thriving in that area. Never did I find out the real reasons as to why “Smarty Pants” folded. She sold a lot but maybe it was the rent, who knows? Again, she followed a destiny and took that chance. *BTW- both places closed before the pandemic hit. One was several years before and one was a few months before…
I am also not fully aware of the stories behind Warrior’s Gym failing. He did charge for membership of course but couldn’t sustain it over a time. It was a huge place so am sure money factored in. In typical Warrior style, he moved on to other creative ventures and remained positive. I know he had bittersweet memories there as that place is where he met Dana and their story began. It fit perfectly for his lifestyle and pursuing something new outside of wrestling for a while besides a few other projects. I had heard of it of course years ago but no idea on any videos at the time. Very grateful he had some workout sessions filmed and now available on YouTube. He put so much out there for us fans now to find and still felt inspired knowing he had a destiny to fulfill.
No one knows fully how their life will unfold exactly or how we follow those inner callings all of us have. Some things work, others don’t. Some are for a lifetime while others are only for a brief time. Whatever the outcome, at least you can stand proud and know you went for it despite fear, naysayers, or any other excuse. It may not be a business decision but anything that gets you thinking outside that same old comfort zone. Ask those gods for help and they’ll deliver in one way or another. It will worth it in the end.

*** He dated my youngest sister in high school and we recently reconnected thru our books and social media. If you are a sports nut, find his other books as well (: He was and still is a huge fan of wrestling and we always bonded over that! Ironically, his name is Vince although it is really Vincenzo… He is following his destiny also. Kee on Sports Media Group has a website, YouTube channel, and a Twitter page. They also cover our local football games here! 🏀🏈⚾️🤼♀️🥊
