Women Who Run With The Wolves

Don’t let this title fool you out there– guys, I’m talking to you! I always have a story connected with me personally and am not here just recommending a book. Before I get into any “deep” stuff, I’ll share my experience.

My most recent Holistic Fair brought this woman to my table and I am very grateful to her in so many ways. She complimented me on being brave for not only writing but getting a book published and even supported me by her purchase. Once we started chatting, she gave me this title of a book and am so glad I remembered without writing it down at first. She barely even looked at my book and related mine with Women Who Run With The Wolves. I had never even heard of this book at all but became very humbled with this comparison.

She started explaining some of it briefly and I was so confused as to how my book, Spirit and Belief connected to another book. She went on to say how more women need to be storytellers and get their voices heard. O.K. guys, let’s substitute here. After all, you should know by now the subject of my stories! Take out the word women and just say storytellers since that was Warrior’s wish. She discussed intuition, the “female” psyche, leaving a legacy, and a few other topics as I became entranced yet still kinda confused.

Some of it sounded like Warrior’s principles to me and I decided to check it out at the library. I HAD to read it for myself and now NEED to own it as am sure a highlighter will be worn out with all my marks! Many times throughout this book, I had to stop and just put it all together. People do come into our lives for very specific reasons like Warrior in my life and now this beautiful woman.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. had over twenty years of research before writing Women Who Run With The Wolves in 1992. She has Hispanic and Native culture, ( many mentions of New Mexico) mythology, (which I love!) listening to your spirit, and metaphors with symbolism explaining the stories. We all need to balance our energies everyday– male and female and this book is full of both. She, of course focuses on the “Wild Mother” and many female references but those warriors are around too! I could so relate to finding a tribe and sharing our scars of war or battle, however that may be for anybody.

Many words were very repetitive throughout the book including: intuition, creativeness, spirit, energy, transformation, and ENDURANCE. In one story she states: “We don’t just go on to go on. Endurance means we are making something.” That message is for all– men and women, warriors and intuitives. Another story recounted brothers helping their sister with: …” a warrior to each side of her, if she but calls for them.” You can think of that quote however you like. There are warrior women too of course but how true in my development.

Lots of stories blend the natural elements of air, water, earth, and fire and these are our true existence. She always brings the Life/Death/Life symbols throughout the entire book. We begin life, have death, and then get reborn again. This might be the afterlife for you or it could be beginning something new as my journey is to me.

There are a few classic stories like The Ugly Duckling and this matched with me entirely. No, not the “ugly” part but just not having that sense of belonging and needing my own flock of ducks. Sometimes it becomes a struggle being ourselves, fitting in, and yet needing that urgency to move on. Warrior felt that way and I do too as am sure many of you have in your lives. Even though this is full of much content, I became so entangled with this book and finished it before it was due! It was on a wait list……

Another story I will mention is her tale of “Sealskin, Soulskin.” This relates to seals which are one of my favorite animals and they are actually “beautiful symbols for the wild soul.” It is a very compelling story filled with so much emotion but I will get to the point. We lose our “pelt” or “skin” and need to get underneath it all. We need the real us like I’ve said before. It depicts passing on to future generations and yet always remaining true in spirit. Again, many women traits but guys need to understand this too! I believe Warrior would–at least spiritually anyway. After all, he lived with three!

Obviously, another aspect I’ve been overlooking is the entire wolf concept in every story. Most might believe the negative qualities of them but this author studied wolves for years so she explains their behavior while relating metaphorically to all the stories. If you want a connection warrior fans, think “wild dog”, you know–“dingo”… Very similar to wolves but seriously they are a huge spirit animal and extremely intelligent. I learned many new things about them and some of my opinions have changed. This is true of us too. We are quick to judge without knowing. Feel free to examine that statement yourself. I try so hard in meditation everyday and it seems to be working.

You don’t need to like this book, stories, or some people for that matter and that’s o.k. We all just do our thing but want respect doing it. If this post isn’t for you, I get it. Hey, I tried relating to everyone and if you’re spiritual, believe me– you will GET this book. You don’t have to buy it like I probably will but reading it explained so much for me. Guess I’m recommending it after all, I can’t help it! I told my husband to buy it for my birthday in a few months, now he has an idea. 😉

I hope some of you got enjoyment this time around and don’t worry, I’m not starting a book club. 📕📗📘📙📚Spiritual thinkers, teachers, Warriors, storytellers, archetype studiers, and especially women– this blew me away. I finally got why that woman at the Holistic Fair kept talking to me.

P.S. Here’s another tidbit warrior fans– this woman who bought my book wanted a new one to read on her flight to London the next day. I thought of Wembley Stadium, Summerslam 1992. After all, I had a dream about that as “The Fair” chapter in my book! Guess what? This book I just posted about was written that same year. Coincidence, hmmmm…🤔

P.P.S. Taking some needed R and R with the family next week but we’ll see what future stories develop!! 🚣‍♀️🏔

Wait, “what’s next”?

The one thing I have never wavered from with these writings is my emotion involving all Warrior topics and this post is no different. If you’ve been here with me a while– you have heard it all or at least I thought so. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. 🤗 If you are a newbie, strap on those boots and gear up because more stories are still going to be told.

As I think back on all things relative to Warrior, I realized my thoughts on his statue and the Warrior Award have never been shared. Was this something I even wanted to write about? Then, I remembered the emotions at a particular moment during that time and realized my thoughts needed to come clean. What fan wouldn’t love both of these prestigious honors for the man we respected and admired? Who wouldn’t agree and say: ” Yes, his spirit should be immortalized in those ways!” Well, let’s just say that it took me some time to get there.

I know this might sound shocking to some of you considering my blogs, respect, and even my book Spirit and Belief but let me share with you how it was for me back then. After Warrior passed, there seemed to be many things coming out all at once and for me, it was exhaustible. There was his Ultimate Collection DVD, ( which was planning to be released anyway) the Always Believe DVD, soon after the statue, Warrior Award, and then still later– Warrior Day. Sometimes I had to catch my breath!

Even from someone gone from the business almost twenty years and having passed, that’s still A LOT!! 😳 There were other little things too and how could I forget Dana’s blog? That still gets my heart every single post. 💖

So many, many thoughts raced thru my mind during all this time and the timeline seemed to blur into oblivion… I had so many emotions raging that I couldn’t figure out where one began and another ended. Happiness, sadness, anger, disappointment, anxiety, feeling surprised, confused… You name it, I owned them all. I hadn’t followed WWE in years as I’ve stated before so my feelings felt explosive in a way. Why are they doing all this REALLY??? Guilt? Getting his fans on “their” side? Being apologetic? Offering ” condolences?” Media PR? Ratings for the shows? The list went on for me… I became ambivalent towards it all.

I seemed to compare it to a friend whom you’ve had a falling out years before with and now they want to make-up with you anyway they can. This was like that with me before I really understood it all. The book A Life Lived Forever explains so much more in detail leading up to a few years before Warrior’s HOF induction. Most fans knew nothing until it got closer.

We all know there would be no award had he lived among countless other events. I can attest to this personally with my life. I also thought only wrestlers who had passed got a statue, so many things I never knew. Does he deserve one? You bet he does, alive in person or not!!! Forget the “technical wrestling ability” many say he lacked. You do not want to debate that with me! You know who you are… 🙄🤭It’s the image, not necessarily the moves. I believe this with any character in the WWE, not just of Warrior. It’s about the lasting longevity that leaves a legacy a character becomes thru fans and their devotion. It’s never about the what, it’s more about the how and why.

That brings me back to the why of all these extra things. Yes, WWE wanted Warrior back for years and he would’ve been an ambassador like Dana is now. We can’t figure out all the whys ever but just try to understand they are more important than the whats.

Once I sat down and heard about the first Warrior Award– and this is my reason sharing today, I actually said: ” What’s next, a statue?” I had no idea at the time they had been creating one with Dana’s help. No idea at all… I began crying as it seemed so overwhelming like this all shouldn’t be happening. I KNOW differently now and am so grateful WWE acknowledged the Ultimate Warrior with appreciation and respect.

Us fans owe everything to Triple HHH ( aka Paul) whose persistence brought our favorite back home. I am glad Warrior stepped away to raise his family and pursue other business ventures. He needed to during that time. I am extremely glad he finally had his moment at Wrestlemania XXX weekend to show everyone he really was (is) “a good guy.”

So, what is next? Lots of new merchandise, there was Camp WWE, and probably Mattie running to the ring someday! Dana has said she wants to be “bad!” Her Dad was a good character who got away with being “bad” so only time will tell… I will be watching for sure! I was just playing around with the whole what’s next? idea in my head one day when I thought of a street name. The only name that came to me was “Warrior Way.” After all, there is no street, road, avenue, lane, or anything else that fits. Once I thought more about it, I chuckled. Us fans already have our OWN Warrior Way and we don’t need a street or sign telling us so.

Like he said in his RAW speech, ( and I won’t quote, too much for me… 😪) but the character does live on in all of our true warrior spirits and we have to be the ones pushing his legacy forward. Despite what others may think, that was his greatest wish for us. That’s where his always believe slogan originated from. He always had the “what’s next?” mentality and he wants the same for us. I certainly took on that Ultimate Challenge myself and still am today.

We can have a statue, award, ( which exemplifies a warrior spirit and I believe it’s time for another woman!) DVD’s, merchandise, a special day or anything else but what truly counts is what’s inside us, not outside. Even though at that time my emotions were a wreck, I never forgot the WHY of Warrior. I didn’t know WWE’s why then but Warrior’s never left me, even though he physically did.

My advice to you warriors out there is to find your own “what’s next?” and keep going. Dana did and we need to also. Sure, there are things you could never have imagined happening in your life but we need to keep those boots on to find the next, and next, and next. Overwhelming? Yes! Emotional? For sure! That is the what of life and we need to get to the how and why. 👢🤔

Our first reaction to something rarely is our last. Do something in your life that will make you glad you reached for the next thing instead of becoming dormant. I treasure all the things WWE and Dana have done and are continuing in honor of Warrior and his memory. We are obligated also to have that spirit of continuing on to the next as is our life-blood to do so.

It has always been in my veins so how could I ignore something so powerful? I wish the same for you to follow the Warrior Way and continue on with ” what’s next?” It could just very well become Ultimate!

Which Warrior Would You Choose?

Many times while watching Warrior on YouTube videos or seeing him with fans, a few questions lingered for me. Fans of course are there since they love the Ultimate Warrior but then Warrior himself is that character. He would always ask how they want items signed and for me, that’s classy. He lets them choose. Which name or “person” would you choose and why?

Before I personally answer that, a favorite video of mine is this boy at a meet and greet. They were chatting and Warrior says to the boy: “People say my hair has changed. My hair hasn’t changed, has it? It’s the same as it was back then, ain’t it?” The boy laughs and says: ” It has….” Warrior rubs his head as laughter ensues from the other adults nearby. Two looks, one man. I never forgot that video so just had to find it again.

Sure, he could’ve been unrecognizable to a child who sees the character and man as entirely separate. Warrior made his character so multi-dimensional and still him underneath it all. Many performers didn’t do that but their character worked for them in the way they needed. Warrior took such risks which proves his longevity today.

I’ll answer my own question of “which Warrior would I choose?” My teenage self only knew one but my adult self knows both. Warrior, Mr. Warrior, Dr. Warrior– whatever you want to call him, that’s the line I’d be in. What if we could have them both standing at a meet and greet with two lines? Whose line would you be in? I mention a graphic organizer in my book Spirit and Belief like a sun but here’s another one– a Venn diagram. Yes, I love ideas my kids learn in school.

A Venn diagram has two circles that intersect with a little space in the middle. The left circle would be the Ultimate Warrior and the right would be Warrior with that little space in the middle where they intersect. You list traits of each then the commonalities in the middle. It’s done in their Language Arts classes with comparing book characters.

I’m sure you all can list your own traits of both but the middle is most important. That’s where the two meet and become one. We are all the same, celebrity or not and we come together as just people. Even though I had a past with the Ultimate Warrior character, my present is now with Warrior. It is all connected whether in memories, dreams, or spirit. I loved watching him perform with all his intensity but the real guy and his message are truth enough for me.

We all have different sides to ourselves and with being a celebrity, you are the performer and real self. That’s the price of fame. Take away the running, paint, long hair, gear, screaming, and anything else Ultimate and then you just have Warrior. We all have stuff we hide behind and then there’s just us. Wouldn’t you want people to meet the REAL you anyway? Yes, it’s hard taking away all the extra things but sometimes that’s exactly what we need to do.

Warrior had the courage to step away from that character for a while and explore other business opportunities. Yes, he still would use that character with his livelihood but really, wouldn’t you? WWE and Warrior could’ve worked together for many years but that didn’t happen back then so he did it his OWN way. I get it. We can be a character but what we really want and need is to be appreciated for our realness underneath it all. Some may not like us, agree with us, or want to be around us. We all need respect for just being who we are behind the mask.

Yeah, I know this is deep but really think about it. We need to be us, whatever the cost. So, whose line would you be in? Is this an easy or hard question for you? It’s very simple ( my opinion) but does make me think of myself and perhaps the masks I wear. Do I let others see the real me? Well, I sure am doing better at that now with everything I’ve done. I have Warrior to thank for most of it, at least the Ultimate spirit stuff anyway. Pick your line and choose the right one. Get to what’s REAL and see beyond those masks and maybe hair…….😉

Warrior’s Workout Wisdom

Here we are again with yet another funny story I hesitated to write. It concerns Steve Wilton who managed Warrior for several years and runs Ultimate Creations. This also concerns the power of words and that ability we all have internally when working with spirit energy. The title should be Warrior’s Workout Wisdom for Wilton so let’s blast off!!! 😬😜🤣

First off, one of the reasons I hesitated to share this experience was the fact that it involved Steve and is kinda personal. Besides Dana and the girls, Steve is right up there too and I would NEVER EVER disrespect or misrepresent ANYTHING pertaining to any of them. This story doesn’t do that but I never wanted to expose it in a misconstrued way. I firmly believe Steve and I would get along and in many ways, our respect for Warrior goes hand in hand. I do mention Steve in The Mysterious Batteries chapter of my book Spirit and Belief.

A few years back on twitter, Steve had just tweeted about a killer leg workout. He mentioned how much he’d probably hurt the next day, maybe overdoing it, not being able to move, etc. It was very similar to those words. I remember reading that and my reaction totally caught me off guard. I scoffed to myself and said: ( insert scoff) ” What a baby, suck it up, quit your crying!” Right away, I gasped and covered my mouth. Surely I would NEVER say that and much less to someone I don’t know! I wasn’t just thinking that but said it out loud which made it sound even worse. 😳🤭🤐

I have no idea how hard Steve works out or how he trains so who was I to make comments like that, even to myself? After sorta laughing, I really began thinking how those were Warrior comments~~~ not mine. I wanted so badly to tell Steve but had to plan the right approach. If I just tweeted that, he would be so offended and I wouldn’t blame him.

He would say: “Excuse me lady, but you have no idea what I just did and let’s see you do my workout!” No way could I risk talking to him like that and then an ultimate idea came to me. I would start with : ” Warrior would probably say…” and then go into the baby stuff. Well, I tweeted back and did see some comments but they were all from men as usual talking about fitness or what they do. Nothing like mine and no real mention of Warrior but maybe just asking if it was intense like his were back then.

I did get a tweet back and Steve said: ” That’s exactly what Warrior would say!” Just the fact that he responded was great in itself but his tweet validated my words. Most fans probably know how intense and extremely disciplined Warrior was and both Steve and Dana both have mentioned working out with him years ago. I never would’ve shared this story at the time but with them becoming more public on some topics, I feel like now I can.

That experience coincided with many of the other major Warrior events so for me, this was undisputed! This was not my first match with Warrior along those spiritual signs. Yes, you can have words sent to you that you’d never say and believe me since many of my writings happened like that. I was even thinking this blog might be done but then more stories I remembered needed to be told.

You can say people might’ve said the same thing as I did to Steve or that he could’ve responded back the same way but that didn’t happen. Once signs show up for you, it can become pretty consistent so pay attention!

Steve and I also discussed other topics besides Warrior on twitter and it was always so fun joking around with him. I know he joked with Warrior and now I am too! 😉

I can’t imagine training with Warrior but I like to think without quitting that my body could take it– just ONE time only. I would probably throw up like Dana did but what an experience to have and always remember… 🤮👍 Maybe his workout isn’t wisdom for everyone but this warrior girl will take anything~~~ even in spirit. 💖💪🏻

My “Pouchie” Faith

I have gone back and forth a while now on whether or not to tell this story but with Warrior’s birthday a few days away, it’s time to share it with you. Let’s back up a few years with an episode of “The Goldbergs.” Adam Goldberg was a huge Ultimate Warrior fan and they have referenced wrestling a few times on the show. I love this show since the 80’s were a coming of age decade for me and am so glad Dana loves it too.

The beginning of an episode had the character of Adam dancing and lip syncing in his bedroom to the song “Faith” by George Michael. Good thing I didn’t go upstairs then to say goodnight to my daughter or would’ve missed the whole thing! Am sure most of you know the lyrics and this was the very beginning of the song. In the background on his shelves were The Ultimate Warrior and “Macho Man” Randy Savage wrestling buddy dolls! I will always picture that scene every time I hear “Faith” and still do. Warrior and Randy together again for a memory of mine.

Fast forward a few years to just a couple of months ago. I had been thinking of a way to get my book to Dana even though it was a long shot but the thought remained. I was driving home from my hair appointment and turned on the radio. The song playing was “Faith” by George Michael. I smiled and sang along like I always do. It was then that I noticed this car’s license plate stopped next to me at a light. The plate said “POUCHIE” and I thought of Dana.

Warrior had called her “poochie” and she has mentioned this periodically. He even acknowledged her in the crowd as “pooch” during his HOF speech. It was spelled differently but I still noticed. Then, I started saying “pouchie faith” just for fun since I always believe! It could’ve been “pouchy” with its pronunciation but to me, it was “poochie!”

The next few weeks “pouchie faith” stayed in my head whether or not I heard “Faith” on the radio. A month or so later, Dana started her podcast “Total WARRIORS.” As previous readers know, I called in and was able to speak with her. That was my “pouchie faith” revealing itself to me. Not “poochie” or getting my book to her, but I’ll take it!

Let’s look at this from another angle I have said before. It’s so much fun with a group of threes whether you think like a three count or spiritually. It’s been magical and I can attest to that. The wrestling buddy doll, ( again!) the song “Faith,” and a license plate (again!) I can’t forget “The Goldbergs” which started it all lining up.

You can have your “faith” however it works for you whether it’s a show, song, or license plate. Whatever way you choose, just believe and those signs will appear. I wasn’t too sure about this post as it concerns a term of endearment Warrior used for Dana but she has been very open with it so now it’s my turn.

I know the Warrior Girls will remember Warrior this Sat. the 16th in the best way that works for them and I will too. ❤️ He will be with his “poochie” and girls while sending them all his love. I am continually humbled and grateful for all the opportunities I have been given sharing my Warrior moments, even though some are extremely personal. Like he said: “ the right story is the full story…”

Share yours since you never know who might be reading, listening, or becoming impacted. I am forever thankful Warrior shared his, Dana is sharing hers, and now I can share mine. Get that “Faith” and keep it!

P.S. I recently took my first Zumba class and the instructor’s name was Dana. She played the song “Faith” by George Michael. I REALLY had to keep it together without laughing!!! 😳😂

The Wedding Near Smoothie King

Would I fool you warrior fans if you didn’t notice that photo of this other Smoothie King place? Well, I wasn’t in New Orleans but did recently attend a family wedding out of town and noticed that shop. We don’t have those Smoothie Kings by us so boy, did I smile at that sign! It sits directly across the church where the wedding took place so my heart filled with love for all the Warrior family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sometimes, I get social anxiety at these events where so many are present and catching up is great but can be awkward too. My meditation was a little longer that morning as I brought along my pink rose quartz for extra love. The card I drew that day was the Heart Chakra and I must say– it was perfect! I also read the additional meanings and once again, a moment floored me. This was a new card I hadn’t gotten before and a line in the extra part reads: ” A departed loved one who passed from a heart condition is saying hello, I love you. Have a heart-to-heart discussion.” Oh yes, everyday… a few tears here but then I just let it all go and decided to be that warrior the man himself knows me to be.

Later on, we all went to a restaurant between the wedding and reception start time. I had a wonderful conversation with my husband’s cousin’s wife and had no idea of her spiritual gifts as well. She had bought my book and asked me how things were going. Time just flew by as she related her psychic experiences and by sharing my story, it enabled her to open up with others and now to me. I never would’ve guessed this about her and she seemed open to meditation, Hay House radio, and other topics. I was so overjoyed with hearing her stories while feeling validated that mine were educating.

My husband’s sister-in-law recently visited New Mexico with her husband and was in Las Cruces. She actually remembered how Dana lives in Santa Fe and discussed her podcast! Another moment of joy and glee I wasn’t expecting to discuss at all!!! Luckily, this all happened after the wedding or I would’ve been distracted for sure!

What a great week that really turned out to be starting with meeting the woman who won a free copy of my book Spirit and Belief at my recent Holistic Fair. She gave me names of new contacts and we might attend some events together. Her name is Kathy just like mine and she even lives on my street! It has become so synchronistic lately, my heart chakra really is open. ~~ You can look up chakras if you aren’t familiar with them but I have a blog post on this subject at spiritandbelief. It’s about making sense of those seven chakras.

Even though I don’t have a Smoothie King Center story, the Smoothie King shop is my story for that day. I didn’t have that stage like the Warrior family but I have my stage where connections are made all the time. I should’ve gotten a smoothie but I’ll take the people any day..,

Lights on… Lights off…

The basement is where I do some of my workout five days a week with lots of cardio. This light shines behind me as I step along to Pandora while on the elliptical machine. There is another light above my husband’s workout bench and I’ve used that one sometimes but it’s too much of a spotlight on me. I’ve had some flickering lights happen before and that little story is in my book Spirit and Belief. This light, however; did something different.

Several months ago while jamming along to some of my favorite 80’s tunes, it just went out. Oh no! I was in the dark and couldn’t really see the machine. Really though– with all the other types of signs I’d had these past few years, how could I doubt? I just kept going while giggling to myself at this new “sign” I’d received. It did come back on before I left so this got me intrigued.

The logical me did check the bulb like anyone else would. I tapped it a few times and no flickering so it wasn’t starting to wear out. It wasn’t loose either. I knew this was spirit energy working with me. Could Warrior have sent his energy messing with me in a good way? It is extremely possible considering my journey so far. I know what all you very rational people are thinking and no– I am not naive or believe everything is him. You always have to ask questions with specifics and rule stuff out.

This was the first time a light had entirely gone out so no flickering this time and I had to cover all the bases ( or four corners of the ring!) Sometimes, my eyes are closed since I really try to connect with the music without distractions and the light goes out. I open my eyes and am surprised in a goofy yet grateful way. This is not a regular occurrence but electricity is very easy for spirits to manipulate and not to be feared.

I realize this can be a different type of subject for those not familiar but if you know me, I have never been afraid but very open-minded. This light going out was not my first encounter with signs obviously and based on what I was doing, it worked for me. Dana had mentioned the “Daddy lights” flickering in their old house and I never forgot that. The music connects too and I want so badly to remember a certain song playing but I just can’t! It did relate to Warrior in a big way and I knew right away.

Here’s some of that humor many maybe thought he lacked. This incident I do remember for a few reasons. It was Friday, April 13th and I really didn’t think much about it. Ok, maybe a little but not a thought with the light involved. Friday the 13th and a full moon! Oh boy, what could this mean? Animals and kids act a little nutty but nothing personal with me much, maybe I’m lucky??? 😬🤪 I was halfway done in the basement that day went the light went out again. It hadn’t in a while and I never put the details together until later. It’s not directly connected to Friday the 13th and a full moon as you might think.

That date is also when the Undertaker put the Ultimate Warrior in a casket on the Funeral Parlor back in 1991. I never remembered that date exactly until owning The Ultimate Collection DVD but the event was never forgotten in my mind!!! I was so affected by that and hated every minute of it. Glad to hear they were friends but oh, the horror to me and those crazy emotions!!! 😡😳

I do believe Warrior’s energy made that light go out— especially on that date of Friday, April 13th and a full moon. 🌕 HA-HA, very funny Warrior making me remember that awful experience! I knew that was in April but did have to check just to be sure. The songs do sometimes match up but not always and that’s ok. I always validate since he is taking the time connecting to me doing something he built his whole adult life upon. Some might think I am crazy and you are entitled to that.

I’m just here sharing and educating you on my experiences just in case any can relate. Also, if you think it’s super cool and very ultimate, you’re my kind of person! Even if you don’t, I thank you for having an open mind to anything on your journey.

I always remember that humor works, a person’s energy is the same in spirit, and that whole celebrity thing doesn’t matter! I never doubted these types of signs but just me receiving them. It’s different now and sometimes when I do ask for something, it happens! So many times this works and I am always so humbled.

Who knows what that light will do next but this warrior girl feels the energy and knows the signs. Let’s not forget the goosebumps but this isn’t about that… One time I even said: “Hey, I need the light back on before I go up so the switch doesn’t get messed up!” I reached for the chain and before pulling, it came back on (:

The Library Lift-Off

What does a library have to do with those three cards? Shouldn’t that be the title of this post? I guess backing up is a good idea here… Several months ago, I received an email asking if I’d participate in a library roundtable discussion on self-publishing as a new author. That’s a mouth full!! This would involve myself and two other authors explaining how we self-published our books while detailing the process. I’ve had a few other gigs before but this actually involved speaking and I couldn’t have been more excited! My book Spirit and Belief would now have more of a voice than ever and it is on library shelves currently.

The first date listed was April 5th. The second date listed was early May but Warrior fans would know which one I gravitated toward! 💕 I knew April 5th would be my choice without a doubt and began thinking of nice weather for a good crowd. Two years ago, I had an experience with that date as well (blogged here as “The Falling Signs”) and in my book so was I going to pass on this? Not a chance!

Time went by and as the date neared, I gathered everything needed for the event. During this period of waiting I had decided to order some angel oracle cards. I am not a medium but wanted something new to feel inspired everyday while adding to my spiritual sacred space. I’m not really going to explain card decks for those who are intimidated or anything but they are doing wonders for me. Just remember that photo of the cards…

Moving on to the big day got my nerves settled and my excitement up. For the first time I seemed more at ease at an event than ever before. Good vibes all day and I just knew this would be a success. That morning, my card deck arrived in the mail. WOW! What a surprise!! I immediately opened it and looked thru the cards and guide book. Of course I had to try it right away with good intentions while becoming calm. I drew three cards to represent the past, present, and future. The past is not your childhood or anything like that but something more recent.

Those cards began that day and I brought them with me for good luck. They were perfect for where I was in this process, where I am now, and where I could be going. No coincidences here, at least not for me and that beautiful day. I meditated without getting attached to the outcome but really focusing on my message with humor, intent, and belief. I let it go and decided to accept whatever the audience threw my way.

I was almost to the library that night when this apartment building caught my eye. Turning right, the sign read: “Sherri Apartments.” I giggled thinking how Sensational Sherri connects to Warrior and what a sensational night it turned out to be. Never once did I get that nervous stomach so common to me before. Meditation works but so do cards, praying, or whatever you need. I like to think also Warrior would be involved because hey– it’s not just my story and he loved libraries. Connecting dots is my thing and it made my talk lift-off for the first time.

There were about seven people in attendance ( I love that number!) and two bought my book. This group usually has around ten so not too bad… No idea if anyone would buy my book but I detached from that entirely. I answered questions while being totally relaxed. For this introvert, that’s a win without a pinfall!!!

The man was a wrestling fan and the woman had some psychic abilities. The topics in my book combined with both fans who had personal connections when it was passed to them. He couldn’t believe I was actually talking about THE Ultimate Warrior until he read the back cover. I couldn’t help but think of Bobby Heenan at WrestleMania VII as it began when Warrior didn’t run to the ring. He said: “Is that THE Ultimate Warrior?” Gorilla Monsoon says: ” It is indeed!” That match had Sensational “Queen” Sherri and oh– those apartments! A stretch? Maybe for some but not for me.

The woman had been experiencing some ringing in her ears for a while and began ruling out a few medical conditions. She told me while looking at my book, the ears ringing section opened right to her– no joke! We knew it was meant to be and she did realize that could be a psychic gift to her. After some discussion, she decided to tell her “guides” to tone it down some so she could listen. I sure hope it worked for her.

I was so overjoyed at the responsiveness from that energetic group of writers aspiring to be published authors. We all shared experiences together and it felt so empowering being with like-minded people who wanted answers. Being a leader really isn’t my thing but by spreading my message, I need to be now.

I couldn’t believe that my personality became changed from listening to talking. We all need to be listened to but if you’ve had a past like mine, your turn could finally happen where you speak and others listen.

I am so excited to hopefully make more connections as a speaker who builds trust with people first and then sells the books. Life lessons always are upon us everyday. The Library Lift-off made my confidence soar like a rocket ship in space! Remind you of anyone?

Take that chance. Do that thing. Write, speak, get it done! Sure, we have failures but that makes us get up and keep going for the next big thing. I love my cards and have really drawn some good ones but you need to do what works for you on this journey. Be confident and let the thought go without becoming consumed. Be that warrior you are meant to be every single day. Not THE Ultimate Warrior but you being ultimate any way you can. 💪🏻👍👏🏻💥⚡️🚀

The Feather Box

I wanted to share this story since it concerns my feather collection but also involves following a vision. It doesn’t really connect to Warrior but hey– ya never know! All these smaller events brought the bigger ones and this one follows that pattern. “Finding Feathers” was a previous post shortly after I started this blog and the full story is told in the chapter “Out of the Blue” ( or is it Red?) in Spirit and Belief.

Once I had discovered many feathers, they just didn’t all seem to fit in my little ziplock bag anymore or even a big bag! I thought a box would work to display them nicely. My mind actually visualized the type of box I wanted but also thought of the type I didn’t want. Wooden- yes, kid-like, no. Nothing too ornate but not overly simple that required decorating.

For all you online shoppers out there, am sure you’d just get something from Amazon or e-bay right? I do some shopping that way but personal stuff– nah, can’t do it. This is just like the sign story a few posts ago and that candle lantern with those warrior batteries. Can’t say I would’ve had those same experiences with online shopping. Yes, it’s convenient and works well but not for my stories!

I did go to some stores a few years ago and nothing really appealed to me so the thought waned. The vision was still there in the back of my mind but it wasn’t like a mission or anything. If I found something I loved, great. If I didn’t, it would wait. Maybe that is what I needed to do this time around instead of shopping like an ultimate maniac! The sign I found right away, the lantern had me all over the place, (but VERY worth it!) and the box had me in between.

I went to this home goods store without being overly concerned with finding the “perfect feather box.” By being casual and calm, I noticed some that interested me. This box was perfect and actually had feathers on it– what are the odds? 😉 I love the hearts too. The one thing that bothered me was its size. It was way too big for the space I needed to display and wouldn’t fit. I looked on the shelf and they all seemed the same. It was so perfect and I knew it would work somehow.

Before leaving the aisle, I moved some aside and there was this exact box– only smaller. Word to the wise is always move items aside to search thru everything. I’m not saying wreck shelves or anything but we’ve all had that happen before. Clothes are the worst with a size listed on a hanger and a different one on the fabric– ugh! 😳

Well, I found my new feather box only after thinking more calmly, not becoming too attached, and searching a shelf carefully. I just realized how these three stories are similar when I really hadn’t noticed before. Here’s those signs again in a group of three. The lantern, word sign, and feather box with very different shopping experiences.

Don’t become a shopaholic and don’t become an online shopaholic either. A mix of both is fine. My intuition and the Universe or my spirit team nudged me with all three of these items just like it does for you everyday. Think hard, I bet you can remember times that “signs” happened and it worked! Patience is one of the many lessons I am learning on this journey as evidenced with my shopping experiences. Dana’s Total WARRIORS!

Every once in a while we need to laugh at ourselves and yes, I do! This was one of those times along with excitement and gratitude. Dana Warrior’s new podcast- Total WARRIORS debuted last Friday May 4th at 8:00 p.m. EST and I was a caller.

She hosted Dana LIVE! a few years ago which was a one night event and that experience is in my book, Spirit and Belief. She also has been a guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia and even co-hosted once. I recently just listened to her on Cigars, Scars, and Superstars with Terri Runnels (aka Marlena– WWE fans) so it didn’t surprise me that having a podcast appealed to her. Total WARRIORS is fan-based and I just took another chance with being on hold 20 minutes so it actually worked!

I was in the bathroom when my number became announced but good thing nothing embarrassing happened! 🤣😳 Never have I called into a podcast much less even a radio show– ever. Completely stunned, I was so emotional even getting to my question. She and Steve both were in hysterics as I called to my husband downstairs!! Dana called me “adorable and delightful” and she loved my voice! Can you say FLOORED!

I finally asked about writing (of course) and she is so intelligent which some people might not associate with her. The whole episode is 1:30 but my call is at the 54:52 mark. If listening to the entire podcast isn’t your thing, that’s ok. You can skip ahead in 15 min. intervals which is great! It was so humbling and an incredible experience to speak with her, one I will never forget. ❤️💕 I am excited for future episodes and I’ll post all the links below if you’re interested in hearing Dana’s stories, questions from fans, and juicy Warrior tidbits!

Whatever you are doing that has become a passion in your life, keep at it! Some things we can imagine in our minds working out or coming true but some still floor us…

I had planned another break from these writings as nothing popped up until Total WARRIORS. Even if something seems extremely unlikely or an “ultimate challenge,” go for it anyway! It might not work out exactly as you planned but will come together somehow and maybe even in a better way. I would love getting my book to her but just hearing her compliments and sweet messages gives me encouragement. Meeting her would be the absolute BEST but for now, a phone call will have to do and I am so honored.

As a writer, she personifies honesty and integrity and would never mince words. I am so glad she has found her place in the WWE Universe as an ambassador while still preserving Warrior’s legacy. Sure, she makes fun of him but we all need humor in our lives. 😜

If you feel so compelled, call in next time. The first podcast she did in 2016, I hung up after 5 minutes so don’t be like I was! ( You can find that one archived also thru podcasts or the Ultimate Warrior website)

The difference this time was that I wasn’t overly concerned with my phone and counting the minutes. Just let it be… I’m not saying take a shower or anything and no– I wasn’t doing that but just occupy your time momentarily with a little task. I have emailed and tweeted but never a phone call so those “firsts” for you could be right around the corner. Warrior was famous for firsts and we as his legion of faithful warriors must do the same. Remember: “Fear is an aberration…”

Slay the world warriors and continue giving love to our 1st lady Dana!
