That 80’s Vibe! 💚💖

*** A quick note before I begin today: All the BEST of health and happiness to Triple H on his official retirement. I thank him for 30 years of “The Game” and for his tireless work to get the Ultimate Warrior in the HOF. I will always be so grateful to him.., 💙

Look at that. A rare selfie of me and I gotta admit– it wasn’t easy to do. I don’t paint Ultimate Warrior’s mask or anything similar to his logo on my face so you are in for a real treat, lol! Think I did it years ago with 💄… Anyways, it totally fits with the 80’s vibe of this story and I just had to do it. Today, it’s about some events in my life and of course Warrior’s that were possibly a little silly, embarrassing, or just different. I remember them all and fans of his will probably too. We both get that 3 count again ( in a way) and I’ll start with him. Oh, those fun years of the 1980s.

I had recently remembered WWE’s Slammy Awards which began in 1986 and the Ultimate Warrior winning posthumously for best return in 2014. I bet many of you longtime fans remember all those music videos the Superstars of yesteryear made back in the mid-80s? “If You Only Knew” was a musical number closing out the 1987 Slammys with the entire roster on stage. U.W. is in the back row and it’s very farcical but we loved it all. I laughed so hard when finding this the other day, my side actually hurt! That brings us to one of these moments I’m referencing today. Koko B. Ware performed “Piledriver” (I know that album!) for Song of the Year. Ultimate Warrior among some others were dressed as construction workers. One article said how “Jim Hellwig” probably felt uncomfortable but really, I don’t know? Would he think it to be foolish or did he have a good time anyway? It’s so goofy, you don’t want to watch and yet we do.

I saw all of their musical “talents” from “Land of 1000 Dances,” “Tutti Frutti,” and even Vince’s performance of his BIG hit: “Stand Back!” Always have to give such props to Vince for his creativity and for pushing that crazy envelope into mainstream culture. WWF wanted to be like MTV. Remember when they just showed music videos? Let’s move ahead a few years to 1990 when Warrior was heavyweight champ. I know many have brought up that goofy video of Phil Collins along with Warrior dancing and performing in a ring to Phil’s popular song: “Two Hearts.” Yet another moment where I wonder what Warrior’s thoughts were. It’s all business but some things I think about. My brother reminded me of the WWF using Phil’s song: “Easy Lover” for their first WrestleMania theme. Really? Why THAT song? Why both? Kind of weird, don’t ya think? Maybe Phil was a fan so they got him again years later as part of a “movie” where he was following some TV execs around. This was technically 1990 but close enough to the 80’s and what a crazy vibe it was. Those songs though. Yeah, they make me think of wrestling, lol!🤣

Now, let’s move on to some of MY 80’s moments that were funny, slightly awkward, and yet so memorable in many ways. We’ll begin with 4th grade. Yes, that grade again but there was something else. My class was performing: “Peter and the Wolf” for parents to come watch. I can’t recall if everyone got a part but I was the little red bird. All I had to do was chirp and tweet on top of a bench but had no red to wear. My school gym shorts would work with white tights. Yeah, that’s a fashion statement. It was the early 80’s –gimme a break and I was 9 I think. My mom took a photo, oh boy. I had my arms outstretched with an ugly short haircut and chirping away. All that silly stuff for school but it always boosted my confidence on performing.

This next one is my favorite from 8th grade. I always thought it was 7th but am thinking with graduation and all, it was 8th. As part of our end-of-the-year grade, we had to make a music video. Nothing like those ol’ WWF Superstars but this was a big deal. Some kids videotaped us or gave a report but I was in a group of girls. Our song was: “Ghostbusters.” I may have mentioned this before but it’s worth a repeat. I walked out 1st just like during H. S. Graduation only this time, different music of course. We rocked it and without being biased, were the best! Our group went first so we could just relax and watch all the others.

I was a “ghostbuster” with one of my hats from home (either Chuck E. Cheese or Niagara Falls?) while holding a toy gun. Us 3 girls had to say: ” Bustin’ makes me feel good!” I feel so different about that now as good spirits, not ghosts are welcome by me (: We had it all planned out as hard work paid off. Warrior would agree. With all the practices after school and in backyards, we had a hit. There were us “busters,” old ladies with umbrellas, and even our very own ghost friend wearing her glasses over a sheet! So much fun, yet ridiculous all at once. I can still remember some of the other kids videos. A boy group did: “One Night in Bangkok” which makes me think of Mike Tyson now from “The Hangover” movie. Great.., now, all those songs are in my head!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🎧

The last experience was my junior year of choir in high school. Choir again, I know! We had a new Director but she wanted to make all these changes and switched the rules up some. Sounds like someone else, I wonder who? This new teacher began to introduce dancing. What? I didn’t sign up for this! For one concert, we danced and guess what? It was a big success and the following year she started a show choir that performed along with many other schools. Despite all that, I hated it. Every minute of it.

We even did a song with our Dads (I didn’t ask mine but my partner did) called: “Big Spender.” Is she kidding? How is THAT appropriate? Look up the lyrics… The crowd loved it though as we had matching dresses and danced our hearts out on that stage. All those dance steps, practices, and frustrations which led to something great. I thought it strange and felt so nervous since this was choir, not a dance competition. That 80’s vibe strikes again, always with good results. I did remember a few other songs we performed that actually were pretty good. One was: “And all that Jazz” from the musical Chicago.

So, there you have it. Warrior’s 3 count of: “If You Only Knew,” being a construction worker for “Piledriver,” and dancing with Phil Collins in: “Two Hearts.” Again, with songs that don’t match despite their popularity. OK, I know his is really a 2 count since the first ones were both during the Slammy Awards but I’m counting them separate! My 3 count is: “Peter and the Wolf,” “Ghostbusters,” and “Big Spender.” We both did a music video too. At least he got paid for his goofy stuff. What a (mostly) 80’s vibe that time was which brought some silliness, awkwardness, and always so much fun anyways. In spite of everything, I had many laughs. I hope Warrior did too.

P.S. You probably won’t see me with face paint again but you other warriors can paint away! I’ll dance to “Ghostbusters” anytime though! Just not “Big Spender…”

Out of this World 🪐

To all you space and science freaks, this one’s for you. Some of today’s content may not suit everyone but really, isn’t that most of the time? 😉Well, quite possibly not as you loyal readers keep coming back. Always many Ultimate thanks. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression: “you’re acting like you’re from another planet!” Maybe you haven’t but perhaps after a discussion, you heard something similar if someone disagrees. I bet lots of folks thought that of Warrior too with certain things he said or did over the years. ***FYI here– it seems lately that a few ideas I would have for posts in some way get brought up by the U.W. fb group. These would be ideas I thought of a while back and then up pops a post on there, too funny!

People thought he was crazy for writing those comic books among other ideas. That pic you see was from a signing after he took on that project in 1996 at the Golden Apple Comic Book Store. Was he out of this world for doing that? The stories were “interesting” to say the least but I never read them all as some of you may have. Long before that time, he often referenced some of the planets and such during many of those maniacal U.W. promos which became so iconic. His left wrist sported the planet Saturn which was part of a Terminator/ Barbarian theme. I finally found out more info on that. You can find those pics on your own but obviously it was of some interest to him. Some say Warrior was very intelligent about many things, some say otherwise but nobody pursues interests in a way outside of a career unless you are passionate about it. We pursue career interests too but I’m talking about extra hobbies you connect with.

Take me for example. You knew this was coming. These kinds of topics are usually reserved for my other blog over at Spirit and Belief, but it relates today. My Dad worked at NASA for 50 years as a chemical engineer. No, I’m not getting all “geeked” out here but space exploration and all it entails was around my life for many years. In 4th grade, we always had to do science fair projects on the planets. My brother did a shoebox diorama and the following year was my turn. Mine was on posterboard with glittered planets. It was so beautiful and I loved it! Dad would always help us down in the basement on top of our pool table. That way, it was much easier to clean up. Always was I fascinated by all the details of each one plus the sun, moon, and stars. ☀️🌙✨ Not enough to want a trip into space but it piqued my curiosity. No idea on my sisters projects. Guess I forgot theirs. I also had to do a report on a famous person in 4th grade. My choice was Marie Curie. She was a scientist! 👩🏻‍🔬🦠 🧪 Even in 6th grade, one of my “special interest” talks was on the Space Shuttle. It wasn’t just because of all the stuff Dad could bring home either. We always watched the Space Shuttle missions go up. Very sad how they had to be discontinued. ☹️ 🚀

I remember a few fun units in Science as a kid that usually made me pay closer attention. One was on astronomy (how did you know?) while the other was geology. As my son’s teacher had said : “it isn’t all about rocks!” I love learning all their names and especially geodes. Let’s move on a little with all those rocks of geology because well, that’s my memory. As a child, I recall coloring rocks with crayons. Has anyone ever done this? Of course they’d have to be white or with very little color. My poor crayons would get so dull with wax everywhere but the rocks came out great! Maybe that little girl knew all along as an adult, she’d love crystals and their healing power. Out of this world? Maybe, but it’s a compliment for me!

I’m not too sure if Warrior ever read up on the possibility of life on other dimensions or if people here on Earth are from another world. Don’t worry, I’m not getting all “Hollyweird” with scary movie drama as it mostly tends to be negative. I always enjoyed the “Men in Black” series despite possibly freaking out thinking your neighbor could be an alien! 👽 🛸 Let’s make them nice, shall we? After all, they probably come from a far advanced civilization than life here on Earth and need our “school” again to learn lessons. OK, my Dad was also a “sci-fi”nerd but I am more open minded these days. If you aren’t, no biggie. I just think anything is possible and don’t live in fear.

I know what you fans are probably thinking now. I can read your mind! No, I can’t really but your thoughts could be this: She thinks Warrior was too advanced on many topics and must’ve really been out of this world or from another planet. I’m NOT saying that at all but honestly, we really don’t know anyone’s true existence. My Energy Healer has told me how I travel to many places besides Earth at night during my dream state. I believe this as sometimes after waking in a daze, it feels like I never really slept! This is more common than you may think. Us spiritual folks just do different things and have different gifts. It’s those things we don’t have to truly question to know they are true for us.

Are you still with me or have I scared you all away? I can go on and on about this but let’s just say, I like to learn. If it’s something relevant to me or something I’ve had an experience with, it gets researched. Do I believe we’ve been here before? Yep, I do. Did I always believe this? Nope, but after learning more about my journey- it’s there now. I’m not asking any of you to agree but just be open to new ways of looking at your life and all the possibilities that it may include. Warrior was always open to learning and he had mentioned much about past lives, evolution, and other similar topics. He may not have talked or written about exactly my post today but I believe he was interested in our existence and beginnings. Are you a believer? Maybe I am out of this world but I am here now on Earth just like you. However we got here, it’s our duty to be in this life the best we can. Use it well “earthlings!”! 🌍

P.S. I hope I didn’t get you thinking your neighbor could be an alien! “The truth is out there!” ( X-Files history!)

P.P.S. Every time I carry a few crystals in my pocket (which is pretty often), my kids ask why I’m carrying rocks! Lol! 💎

My Warrior Week ❣️

Notice anything different? How can you really tell when I haven’t written yet! Well, maybe you’ve figured it out with that beautiful word of warrior above. Another first here. These posts have either had a photo of Warrior, Ultimate Warrior, other references, or that rare selfie. This time, it’s something entirely new. I do have more pics of Warrior himself coming up of course but my cousin sent that image to me and had to use it today. I have referenced her before in the post titled: “My OWN Wrestling Stories” written 3/4/20. She has two boys who did the “real” wrestling all through high school and we are Spiritual Sistas. After buying my book a few years back, we reconnected in a new way and have shared many experiences of our own in regards to spiritual topics. You can read that post to familiarize yourself with her story but I’m sharing a warrior week with all of you today.

She meditates daily just like me and sometimes we go deeper with music or healing frequencies. I won’t get all detailed but different levels of sound heal in many ways and our brain waves respond. So, when she was almost finished, this popped up on her phone:

WARRIOR TITLE

FULL RELIEF. ***What does that mean? She has native blood so the message might’ve been for her but she thought of me. I can’t possibly guess but she is a strong warrior woman in her own right. She hadn’t typed or pressed anything, wow. Perhaps she’s finding relief from some of her situations but so happy it got sent my way.

It gets more involved with this warrior week of mine. Her one son and daughter-in-law took his two boys to the “Arnold Classic” in Columbus, OH a few weekends ago. I was not familiar with this at all but it’s been around for years. Of course it’s after Arnold Schwarzenegger and is part of the IFBB or (International Federation of Bodybuilding) all about nutrition, fitness, competitions, apparel, booths, and so much more. They sent her a pic of one of the boys punching a machine. Behind him on a sign it read: “Everyone is a Warrior. Everyone has a fight.” Again, she thinks to include me with these warrior words and I love it. The boys had a blast! A few of her other grandsons are still wrestlers and she got a pic from another daughter-in-law. Her grandson placed 2nd but his opponent’s singlet read “Savage.” She sent me that too, “OH YEAH!”

Last is about her only granddaughter by her daughter. She is homeschooled along with her brother and now they are starting archery. My cousin or “Nani” as she is affectionately called by the kids, decided to send this girl her first child youth bow. How nice! She buys one and snaps a pic to send me. The brand name is: “WARRIOR.” How about that? I just kept laughing and smiling all the while at these wonderful warrior happenings. She takes time out of her day across the country to send me warrior inspired messages. We share a lot of laughs but she has truly been a huge support to me as I have been for her.

I knew she’d listen and enjoy the podcast I did with “Kee on Sports.” Here are some of her words:

” You are blessed with the gift to speak and obviously write… this definitely is your forte and such a beautiful way to share and help others. Keep up the hard work and just let it pour from your spirit.” She went on to say how proud she is of me and to reach for the stars! I’m not sharing to boast at all but just to inspire others to continue on in what you truly want to do while helping along the way. I wasn’t expecting such incredible words from her but it felt so good always knowing she’s in my corner. She told me it was my warrior spiritual day and I always believe.

Those warrior signs kept coming as I had gotten a few more emails earlier that week asking about “Warrior’s Web.” I sent them some info and they were grateful to connect. One even wants to buy my book (: You never know the influence or impact you may have on another as I said before. I just do what I love and the rest follows. That’s how we all need to be in every facet of our life. Some days, we don’t really try that hard when the right person, place, or thing just finds us. Keeping being YOU warriors, not anybody else and celebrate all your victories.

That was quite a week and really not just a Warrior day for me but so uplifting and fun. We have enough negativity out there in this world so go and be the positive. We need more of that warriors! Doesn’t it feel good to get compliments from another? Sure, it does but don’t forget to send words of praise in the opposite direction. You all might not have a warrior week or day like mine but be a warrior every day by tapping into your own spirit. Look for those signs that will guide you in the right direction. It just might be a “random” text, photo, or email. There are no coincidences, always believe that...

P.S. I also found several Bluejay feathers on a walk during Warrior week too!

***P.P.S. My extreme condolences go out to the family of Scott Hall, a.k.a.“Razor Ramon.” I thought about posting this first but didn’t want to take away from the tone of the blog this week. His passing hit me really HARD as I had mentioned him in a post several years back. I know Dana and the girls met him backstage after Warrior’s passing during the following year’s WrestleMania weekend and he shared memories of their Dad with them. He had told the girls how they have lots of “uncles” and “aunties” watching out for them now. Scott was inducted along with Warrior as part of the WWE HOF class of 2014. So, it was a little personal for me this time more than with some of the others. I did see a pic of Warrior and Scott shaking hands during 2014’s HOF backstage ceremony. I cried a lot but I do know that he is at peace . So long for now “Mr. Bad Guy.”

💙🙏🏻😓 Thank you Scott for showing us how you truly were a GOOD guy…

The NEW Champ 🏆💪🏻👏🏻

No, that photo above was NOT when the Ultimate Warrior became the new champ as I’m sure most may know! I just wanted a pic of him holding up a belt so used this one. Of course, my story today connects to Warrior winning a belt (ya know the Heavyweight one) and ME winning one- just in a different way.

*** I’m gonna take a quick break here and make a CORRECTION… When I posted late last week about my appearance with Kee on Sports “Pick Six” podcast, I had the incorrect link. So sorry! Here it is correctly:

* It is 40:21 in length and I hope you fans enjoy! Let me know your feedback…

Now, back to today’s post about The New Champ. My brother actually inspired me to write and share this story so get ready to laugh along with me(: I don’t know about you but we (meaning my siblings and I) loved going to this amusement park not too far away from us growing up called Cedar Point. It’s in Sandusky, Ohio and has become one of the greatest roller coaster parks in the world. They do still have smaller rides though. The one I’m referring to today is this horse race called “Cedar Downs.” Every year we’d race and even last summer we still did. That was brought about because of my kids Band attending their 150th anniversary but let’s go back many years.

This ride remains popular even now so I hope it sticks around. We went for so many years as part of Cedar Point Day at school and that tradition continued on a long while. I wonder if they still do that? So, my brother and I started competing on Cedar Downs every summer. When we were older and wrestling was part of our lives, he’d stretch his hands across his waist to simulate getting or wearing a belt- a wrestling belt that is. He’d win every SINGLE time. No joke, every time. For some reason, whatever horse I chose or talked to lost and I’d never win that imaginary Cedar Downs belt I wanted so badly. ☹️

I would think during my teen years of course (mostly) how the Ultimate Warrior deserved that heavy weight belt worn by Hulk Hogan. How would he ever get it without HH losing to a bad guy? Well, if you don’t know, look all that up on your own to find out. I cannot tell you how many times that horse race didn’t go in my favor. Can any of you relate to rides like this? He would joke all the time and I would think to myself: ” one of these days, I will finally win…”

That day came last summer in August of 2021. I was so happy he was able to be there although he missed the kids march because of traffic. Maybe there will be another opportunity as I got a text from him over a week ago. He informed me how Cedar Point was building a new restaurant next to Cedar Downs called “Cedar Dogs.” No idea on how it’s going to work but I’m assuming hotdogs would be on the menu? They had taken down the old Cadillac cars but kept up the bridge. I love how he gives me updates on the park but when he mentioned possibly coming out of retirement for a “rematch”, my intuition kicked in. Immediately, this post came to be as I thanked him for the inspiration. He was glad to help so I’m sure he’ll be reading!

I had always teased him with this which I’ve said before: “the belt means nothing, I don’t need the belt.” Those words were spoken by Warrior on “The Ultimate Collection” DVD and I meant it. Secretly though, I ALWAYS wanted and needed to beat him just to win once, one time. Again, a WMVI memory and I said back some thing about if he wins, he can’t cheat in order to do it. That referenced Hogan and Warrior in their disastrous WCW “Halloween Havoc” match in which they had a rematch of sorts 18 years later. I won’t get paid money of course but I’d like the title a little longer than Warrior had back in 1990.

We did have such a great time along with my husband riding on some rides, going down memory lane of rides past, and just hanging out together at one of our favorite places to go. Yes, it’s huge and a lot to do in one day but I was never that coaster freak and never will be so no long lines for me!

I couldn’t believe our elusive “Cedar Downs” belt was finally mine as I became the NEWWW champ! Just picture Howard Finkel announcing me as the winner! Maybe I had picked the right horse this time or even perhaps Warrior’s spiritual energy came my way to help this girl out? I’m sure he was laughing and watching as I will always believe. I deserved that win after all those years and now being married with kids, my inner child could celebrate in a way she never could before. That one was for her as it was my turn to simulate a belt around my waist for a change.

I hope all of you that are amusement park goers have some great stories too. It’s all good fun but I gotta say, it felt ultimate just like Warrior felt getting his belts after a time. Of course not the exact same, ha ha but it’s always the feelings that matter despite the experience. Be the NEW champ however that looks to you. Keep trying, you’ll get there and then it’ll finally be your turn to win what you’ve waited on. It’s all worth it- even a horse race. 🐎🏇🥇🎪🏟🎢

P.S. Should I defend my title? Hmmm. 🤔I’ll have to think about it. Oh, and every time I hear this ONE song, I always feel the need to BELT it out! I don’t remember hearing this one that often back in the day but it’s part of my workouts now and is on my playlist. Ever since I first heard it, I knew… There are many more but this one stands out to me. It’s a big 80s rock ballad. I simulate wearing a belt too! 🎤

Backyard BBQ Bliss 🔥🌭🌳

As I was thinking of a story to share this week, nothing came to mind. Oh my, what to write? 🤔✍🏻While getting ready one morning last week, I glanced at our Christmas card that I keep on my dresser all year. Yes, I do that and love it! I decided last summer how we needed a new family photo which eventually became part of last year’s Holiday card. The previous one taken was almost 8 years ago and of course I remember that time frame quite well as you fans will too. Looking at that family photo made me think of a story that happened last Labor Day early September here in the U.S. Interestingly enough, it involves my backyard as I blogged a week ago about a dream involving another backyard… Oh, I DID just buy some green grapes but anyways… 😉🤭

The Holiday was getting nearer and sometimes we host a family BBQ, sometimes not. This time, we just had my mom over for hotdogs, coleslaw, chips, cookies, and some fun outdoor games. We had a bonfire going also which always is a staple in the summer. Despite my medical procedures of a few months prior, all had been settled but in someways, I was still struggling. I’m going to get a little spiritual here so if it isn’t your thing, that’s all right. I promise it isn’t too “woo-woo” for anyone not open to it all. My pain seem to linger although on the opposite side this time. For those unaware, I had an ulcer plus some other gut issues that needed addressed. Now, I have more female areas affected down there but no worries– I am fine. Guess it’s just all part of a “spiritual cleanse” for me in a way. There’s been A LOT these couple years and now past month but like a warrior, I move forward and take it all in on my journey.

Getting back to the BBQ plans, we had a fun time as I just dealt with my inner pain. Some things are triggers for me as I’m sure you all have as well. Food still wasn’t always working in my favor and my mom noticed. She asked if I was feeling well and for the most part I was. My kids knew I wasn’t 100% but I didn’t want them to worry as I really didn’t feel a medical doctor was necessary. I had been working with the Energy Healer and doing a lot more practices on my own at home. “This too shall come to pass.” Words of Wisdom spoken by Warrior and I needed to believe them. My mom just said: “You and your weird stuff!” Yeah, it’s weird stuff for my mom who can’t connect to spirituality the way I do. That’s OK though, it isn’t for her to learn. Sure, I wish she could’ve possibly understood more but have accepted that’s how she is and I don’t take it personally anymore. At least I try not to. ❤️‍🩹

Some of my internal “pains” were related to energy and negative emotions. We’re all energy of course but with my process which is similar to others spiritually, we need to heal the gut. That is where we store emotions and sometimes old wounds of the past resurface which takes time to heal. This may not affect everyone and can be quite scary, but things are moving in the right direction. I just need patience, trust, and of course to always believe.

I was distracted plenty by our lawn games of giant Jenga and corn hole so had to put my discomfort aside for the day. You might be thinking how bliss fits into this post and of course Warrior. Follow along and you’ll read in just a few minutes. My husband and I rotated playing the games while tending to the fire. My mom and I were on a team playing the kids in cornhole. We scored on a few rounds and went ahead. I was feeling a little better but this was my new “normal” back then. I wanted and needed to put the bad feelings in the back of my head to enjoy this beautiful day outside with my family. The beanbag came my way and landed right by my left foot. Our apple tree provided some shade but as I glanced down towards the ground, there was a big ol’ Bluejay feather just waiting for me. 💙

I felt like time stopped just a minute, just for me. The game was almost over and when it was, I immediately picked up that feather as tears formed. No one noticed it going into my pocket as I went inside to wash my hands. I needed a few moments to myself as those Bluejay feathers are one of my signs from Warrior. Even though I had been struggling, this backyard BBQ brought me the bliss I needed to know all will be well and it is. I hadn’t asked the Universe or Warrior for a sign that day and yet there it was, truly Ultimate in front of me.

Earlier that summer, another Bluejay feather was standing straight up in the grass near the back of our shed. I had gone out with my yoga mat as part of a daily routine and that spot was where the top of my mat sits. Had to do some Warrior yoga moves then for sure! The sun had been shining right at that moment as I kept the feather with me while knowing he was there. I don’t keep every feather anymore but those blue jay ones, you betcha! What I love are the markings. They are so different unlike let’s say Cardinals. The color shade of red may vary but besides that, pretty much the same. Blue Jays have variety kind of like someone else I know who delivered that day as well. He delivers every day in one way or another but when I was feeling down, he picked me up. Thank you Warrior for your Blue Jay bliss as every single one matters to me. Notice those little things because the Universe wants you too- with or without a backyard BBQ. ☀️🧘‍♀️☮️

P.S. I could’ve called this post “BlueJay Bliss” but there’s been several posts about those feathers. There are many cardinal stories in my book too! PLUS, I wanted to keep everyone guessing!!! Oh, mom and I did beat the kids in cornhole!

Three Count of Dreams 💪🏻

Well, warriors- I had said more dreams were coming so gear up for a three count today. I don’t think I’ve ever given a preview of the next post and yet here we are. This all came to me most recently and I believe they were in the same night. Guess it was time for a three count and it gets more detailed as they move on. They also seem to connect with Warrior’s life more so than mine but I take it all in. Let’s start with dream number one.

No idea where I was in this dream but in front of me was a large box of Ultimate Warrior merchandise. Most may know I have a small collection but nothing like this massive collection. There was so much good stuff in there but I vividly remember picking up the exact mask from Warrior’s final appearance on WWE’s RAW April 7, 2014. The whole crowd wore those as did Warrior which made me pause. This mask is in the book: “A Life Lived Forever.” I got that out a long time ago and the strap broke. It was a PS once for a post. I wasn’t meant to wear it. I held it for a bit and then continued on looking at action figures, magazines, belts, and so much more. I was alone but no recollection of this belonging to someone in particular or if it was part of a store. Hmmm… That was it but very cool to see all that great U.W. merch in one place.

The second dream was a little more detailed. This one occurred in the living room of my childhood home. I was there watching our old console T.V. which I can totally picture. Warrior was starring in a movie similar to “Conan the Barbarian.” Yes, fans know he was “The Swordsman” from “Firepower” but he had said years ago how continuing the Arnold Conan series was of interest to him. As I was watching this unnamed movie, there was a close-up of Warrior with his blonde hair and he was in shackles. He obviously had been captured and was being tortured- oh no! There was a woman nearby but I couldn’t tell if she was hurting or helping him. She looked similar to the actress Nora Lum who goes by the name Awkwafina. Can you picture it? I so hope there was a good ending but in this dream , that was the only seen I saw. I can imagine Warrior in a role very similar so I thank him for coming even if it was through my old T.V. set.

The last dream of course was the most detailed. I hope you can follow along and again- these are my observations and instincts. It’s how I connect the dots so I just go with my first thought and don’t question. OK, now that I’ve set you up, here we go. This one was outdoors and I felt it to be during a frat party in college. I was in someone’s backyard at night as there were lights all around like a summer BBQ. The yard was filled with people, tables of food, drinks, music playing, dancing and just lots of fun. Yeah, it seemed like college kids but very tame! Warrior did attend Indiana State for one year and he looked very young in this dream. It might’ve come about as I had watched an old clip of him and Steve Borden- a.k.a. Sting. I have seen this before with those early Freedom Fighter days in Memphis but watched it again. It’s a clip were Phil Hickerson (whom I wasn’t familiar with) comes up to Jim and Steve and mocks them for just being muscles with no talent. Steve says nothing but Jim challenges Phil to a match. The photo above was from that video. You can look up how that gets played out but imagine Jim’s look then. His hair was just a little longer. That’s similar to his look in the dream.

Here’s another funny connector. Jim had a friend in this dream– no not Steve! But immediately I thought of the show “The Middle.” That comedy aired on ABC for 10 years and the oldest boy went to East Indiana State for college. He had a close buddy on the show. “The Middle” took place in the state of Indiana so Jim and his friend to me in this dream were like Axl and Hutch from “The Middle.” I watched the show and loved it all those years.

I hope you are still with me here… I was walking through the backyard crowd carrying a plate of food for Jim and his friend who were in a tent nearby. I thought later on why I would be doing this?! Get your own food guys! Anyway, the plate contained fried rice and green grapes. Huh? Oh well, that’s what they were getting. I can’t fully connect the grapes but the rice was a real life similarity. My husband and I had recently gone out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. One of his sides was fried rice and he made a point of showing me the peas which I’m not too fond of. I don’t mind them in pods but I’ve never really liked them, even as a baby. I guess those peas on that plate of fried rice made their way onto another plate in this dream. Crazy! Our real lives matter too. The grapes didn’t factor into my real life but they did in this dream. It was a cute moment but the rice story is funnier so I decided to share that instead. 😂🤭

I brought the guys their rice and grapes and we chatted a bit in this tent. No clue on Jim’s nameless, faceless friend but it was interesting. Was it really a frat party at Indiana State? Who knows but I sensed it that way and thought of “The Middle.” I had never had a dream of Warrior that young but guess I got a little glimpse into a college scene. Next time, they can get their own food, ha ha! I’ll probably laugh when I see fried rice and green grapes again. 😜

So, I hope I amused you all this time around since the last few weeks have been quite heavy and emotional. I like to find the humor even with some editing at times which I need to do. Who can tell what’s next but I’ll be here to share. I wish you all good dreams as always. You may not get a three count like mine but never stop believing in your own warrior power— minus rice and grapes!😴3️⃣☺️

All These Emotions 😬💙❤️

There’s a photo full of emotion, isn’t it? Yeah, that’s my topic today and it’s sort of a continuation of last week about Warrior’s Web just a little. I had thought to expand on that post with my thoughts on emotions. Bet you fans got somewhat emotional reading those feelings of last time but we all express them in different ways. Before I start this “match” of sorts, there’s one more thing that I’d like to mention about Warrior. He got called “cerebral“and “misunderstood” quite a bit and I know I’ve said those as well. He mentioned how back in WCW many weren’t making real decisions about storylines and thought he was too cerebral for their content. He of course disagreed as nobody else wanted to think through ideas the way he did. As far as being misunderstood, he goes another way on this. He said how someone must’ve understood (meaning his gimmick, character, etc.) or he wouldn’t have gotten such a push. I’m sure he was referencing Vince on that one. Being cerebral and misunderstood both can invoke emotion, just not in a typical fashion.

Let’s tag Warrior out and tag me in. Here’s some words or phrases I was told as a kid: “you’re too emotional,” “too dramatic,” “over- sensitive,” and the list goes on. I OWN some of those opinions now but as a child, it was extremely hurtful to hear– especially from those closest to you. I was to believe those words were very negative and despite my best efforts, couldn’t hide emotions. Most may think this always has to do with being sad or crying which it does not.

When I helped my son study types of health a few years ago, emotional health was one of them. When I asked him how he defined those words I bet you can guess what he said. Ding, ding, ding! If you said “crying,” you’d be right. Boy, was Mom there to correct him on that. It’s about self-esteem and how you feel about yourself. Boys especially are taught to not express emotion that much but most likely hurt or sadness. That makes you weak or vulnerable and boys can’t cry, right? They have to be tough and then as men, even tougher. Warrior had said how a warrior is gentle and tough. I’m not sure how things were for him overall as a child but hiding emotions I bet factored in. He was hurt many times in his life like we all are but we get to that point where we just won’t share anymore. I became like that too but my emotions aren’t worn on my sleeve like the saying goes but on my face. Just thought of Warrior and his mask on this… We do need to find balance though in expressing our emotions at the right times. We can’t be like toddlers throwing a tantrum. We need to be smart enough to think it all through in a reasonable way but not pack our emotions down into a stuffed suitcase either.

I have always said how we don’t want to be victims but can’t become penniless either. This means we can’t always say: “ poor me” and let others walk all over us but also we can’t save the world either by doing everything for everyone. This plays way too much with our emotional state. Here’s a quote from Morgan Freeman: “Don’t allow your emotions to overpower your intelligence.” ~~~ Warrior would love that, don’t you think? This may sound like I’m contradicting myself but really that statement by Morgan is true. I have let my emotions get in the way without thinking ahead because I listen to my heart most of the time. That is a good thing but there are other factors to consider. The head needs to be there too along with the gut. We can’t forget that. Balance again warriors.

Warrior may have been too emotional or extreme with some decisions he made but we don’t want to get to that boiling point before our emotions take over. The head and heart always want to be the winner but they need their tag team partner with that inner voice of the gut too. You just have to be the one to decide how the storyline goes. Anything actually invokes emotion and it isn’t just the big stuff in life. Reading invokes emotion. Writing invokes emotion. Warrior would agree to that as well. Using our senses invokes so many emotions. Just think of the years you fans (including myself) watched him all those times during the WWF years and beyond. Were you emotional? Of course you were through it ALL.

Sometimes we don’t need those emotions labeled as we are taught to do. They just are there– good, bad, right, wrong, or indifferent. Often times, what one may see as a good or positive emotion won’t affect another the same way. I have thought to myself many times over about how others don’t react the way I do. I can’t understand why they don’t. Being an HSP or (highly sensitive person) isn’t a curse, it’s a blessing. We just feel things differently but need to use it as an advantage. Yin and yang every day. It’s how energy moves through us and for many like myself, it can become pretty intense.

Most regular readers know my posts are full of emotion and always have been! It’s the funny stuff too that brings out our feelings, at least I hope it does. I think the take-away point I’m trying to make here is this: bring a balance into those emotions you have every day without letting something kind of spiral out of control. It’s happiness (which is the best of course) but sadness, anger, jealousy, disappointment, bitterness, guilt, and a million more emotions for our lifetimes. OK, the happy stuff can get out of control in a good way but we all know life isn’t like that all the time.

I realize too that being in the sport of pro- wrestling can be quite the ultimate challenge of handling emotions for a positive result. You become defensive and don’t want to let your guard down. We have to compromise a little though. For a sport that was predominantly men for a long time and their egos, women would be the emotional ones. Guess what? It’s all that for both because we are people. It’s what makes everyone of us human. How you handle your emotions is what this is all about. I know with me, things would just come out. Plenty of times did I question the WHY but I understand better now. We work on it every single day. Let’s bring our head, heart, and gut together to get the balance of all three. Don’t be too cerebral where you become emotionless. Don’t be too emotional where your brain goes on vacation either. We are not our emotions. Let them pass as they will. Listen to the gut as Warrior said. It never lies and can keep those other two in line. Next time you hear the word emotion– don’t think of crying in a sad way. Let’s go for the GOOD. We need to always believe that every day.

P.S. Remember also that crying tears is good for you to cleanse and vent. Sometimes those tears are joy filled! I actually say in meditation every day to bring a balance to my head, heart, and gut. I really do...🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

Inside Warrior’s Web ✍🏻📖

*** A quick note before beginning today. 30 years ago this month of February in 1992, I began a workout program at home in my basement. I remember this because the Winter Olympics were going on just as they are happening now. A little of that story is told in my book Spirit and Belief and it is quite comical how it all started for me. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years!

71 pages. That’s how much material I read most recently from “Warrior’s Web” which the post “Back to Warrior’s Machete” was about a few years ago. The number 71 reminds me of the movie “ELF” when Miles Finch wants a car to be at 71°. That would be his ride to Greenway Publishing. I could just hear his voice saying “71°!” over the phone so it made me laugh! Another movie strikes again… People had talked about Warrior’s web presence and some even found or copied pages he had written. I asked for it and got them. To think someone took time out of their day to send them to me was pretty nice. Many thanks to J.P. My Warrior’s Machete post STILL gets viewed and so now I had more time to read without being rushed back in 1999 or even 2005. Most content I had seen before but possibly forgotten. Nowadays, there’s so many connectors to my life which I’ll be sharing today. There were four years on these writings from Warrior’s Web dated 1999, 2002, 2003, and 2005.

Here’s some quotes not in any particular order:

” I want to post more, but I can’t… my brief can be verbose.”

“Writing is good for you…for it is my belief; for every writer there will be a reader.” ( me for both!)

” I’m just a dumb, muscle-headed wrestler…” (insert humor!)

“I have worked hard to be more than just whatever I did in the ring.”

*So many more to include but these really struck me. *

Am sure you’re wondering about those books in the photo. Yup, got a story for those of course! Here’s one more quote Warrior says about William Bennett’s books: “All his books are gems.” Maybe some of you remember when I shared all about “The Little Engine that Could.” That was a two-parter but “The Little Steam Engine” (same story) is in the beige book you see. When Warrior mentions William Bennett, I knew that name. My aunt and step uncle gave us those two books as a wedding gift almost 20 years ago. I have yet to read all the stories but another great connector. I just had to put them both in the photo with Warrior, or the Ultimate Warrior.

I’m not dissecting every little piece of information on those 71 pages of Warrior’s Web but I am highlighting a few. These are my writings of course but respect is always given to Warrior’s freedom of speech whether I totally agree or not. We are similar in many ways though. I’ve mentioned this plenty of times but our love of books is one thing. No, I will not likely read “The Great Books of the Western World” but a passion behind literature and learning, yes! There were many topics he addressed which I have discussed as well. Discipline, being a hero, Destrucity, succeeding, principles, OWN, defining the word warrior, and so many others come to mind. I love how he mentioned certain ideas and would say how that’s a book, that’s another book, etc. I know he was writing another one but just the thought of putting all that together intrigued me. He stressed the thought of getting a dictionary or thesaurus, I used to say that too but now we have the Internet. Convenient- yes but not as involved for us. I, too love the Internet for it’s good but such little effort on our brains that way.

My feelings about religion or organized religion have also changed enormously. Maybe it never really did but I’m remembering my true beliefs now. Warrior does know more concerning that area being in spirit but I totally agree with his views on God or a Creator. More I mentioned at times is on my other blog but honestly, call a Supreme Being whatever you like- it truly doesn’t matter. I know many who believe in the Bible word for word and being raised that way myself, was taught to believe it. Stories have lots of metaphors and original sin doesn’t sit well with me anymore either. You can think what you want but his thoughts on this totally made sense to me.

I also thought it was interesting to hear him relate some facts about those Founding Fathers of ours in the U.S. Here’s a story: my husband and I went out to breakfast a few weeks ago and I can’t remember exactly but we were talking about Presidents for some reason. I had recalled Warrior listing how John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on the 50th anniversary ( SAME day) of the Declaration of Independence’s signing. I found it on his web and told my husband who knew this already. It was then that my left ear started ringing for a few seconds. Thanks for being part of the conversation Warrior! He connected dates just like I do. 🇺🇸

So glad also to read humor in his writings. He does admit to mistakes like we all have and owns them. “There is no shame in being a beginner or a novice… life has purpose.” Yes, so true Warrior and we need to always believe that. One of my favorite parts was when he talked about becoming a father. I, too could understand his feelings. He already was changing and growing before fatherhood like I was before motherhood. I loved how he said Indy’s kisses were the best part of his day! That was before new baby Mattie joined the family. 💋

The last part I will mention is Davey Boy Smith’s passing.

***BIG SIGH*** 😞from me on this. I knew they were friends for a while and that Davey’s addictions became seemingly difficult. Some points Warrior made though made me stop reading for a bit.. I do see his frustration on celebrity adulation and how we shouldn’t glamorize someone in death just because they were our “hero” or “idol.” The truth here is that people will mourn the celebrity they knew despite their personal lives, problems, or relationships. I realize Warrior lost respect for Davey because of his behavior and he is entitled to that. He did mention of course how extremely sad it all was. Most fans of any real significance will grieve in a way where none of those addictions matter at all. Warrior was a principled man and I get it. Very difficult to read some of his words considering Warrior’s lifestyle and a few possible contributors to his early passing. I know that’s upsetting to hear. It is for me too. Like he said though, we all make choices and have free will to live our life the way we want. He of course also addressed his “death rumors” years prior and here’s another quote: “The day I actually do die, no one will believe it.” We didn’t Warrior, we truly didn’t.

Most won’t read all this from “Warrior’s Web” but I’m so grateful I have and did. He had so much always going on with “Project Warrior” and that was truly commendable. Warrior was a “Founding Father” in his own way with such a unique expression of living life. I thank him for being so much more than a sports entertainer. He was a thinker who became a doer. Let’s all use our “warrior web” to succeed however we can. The body will give out one day but the spirit never will. 💙🙏🏻

P.S. I didn’t mention any of his views on wrestling or possible “new” talks at the time. I think that topic has been written about much on here already… Oh, there was a Jesse Ventura story cut off from”Warrior’s Web.” I wonder what that was about? 🤔

“Let’s all be O.K…” ❤️‍🩹

Before beginning today, we have another fun date. 2/2/22=6. How about that? It appears again and on my Wednesday, so cool. A little happy reminder to start the post. Let’s all be OK. Sounds easy enough to do but sometimes we just can’t be. I really wasn’t aware of how many times I say this but now I catch myself and laugh. We aren’t OK all the time but need to Always Believe we will be. As parents, we tell kids that everything is OK, it’ll be fine, and all that but inside we might be a freaking mess! It’s our job to protect them and really it becomes a defense mechanism to say we are OK or fine. Sometimes though, it gets a little more involved.

I’ll repeat this story briefly but it relates to Warrior since I know you’re all waiting for a title to connect, right? Well, when I saw that “Wrestle America” magazine back in 1993 with the Ultimate Warrior on the front in my grocery store, I stared forever at it. Before finally buying it, here’s my exact words: ” I just want him to be happy.” I really did. Would you all say that? Probably not- just me… Yes, I know most people wouldn’t have that as their first reaction or just grab the magazine but I did and never forgot it. Does being happy mean we’re OK? It’s close enough for me but I DID want him to be OK in whatever he was doing. That was the movie “Firepower” back then.

But, wait – there’s more to this than just that magazine story. When people I knew had passed, I’d say the same thing to myself: “I just want them to be ok.” Yep, every single time including with Warrior. All right, we probably know they ARE ok or will be once they transition or whatever process you’d like to call it happens. We don’t know all the details as it isn’t for us to know. People around me would say :“of course they’re ok or fine, they’re in a better place.” Any other answers you can think of works here too. I was taught about an after life and have to believe we will all be OK there but with my thoughts, it always went deeper. What if they’re not OK for a bit and scared? Sure, some like my one Grandma being 98 was knowing her time here could be ending but some don’t. Did Warrior know? Well, I will never fully answer that and all our assumptions won’t find out either. I guess it was just always a statement that came out of me and I still think it today. None of us knows how another’s journey to an after life goes ( if you believe which I’ve said I do) so I don’t get over it right away. Us thinkers just don’t.

Time to lighten this up some for those wanting or needing any validation on loved ones being OK. Being OK in parts unknown” that is. I’ve shared many funny stories in my book Spirit and Belief but this one is new to all of you. Sorry that I can’t share all the details as once again, a few things are just for me and will remain a mystery.

It is funny though, I promise you that! February 23, 1990 brought WWF’s “The Main Event” and a televised match between the Ultimate Warrior versus Dino Bravo. I had to look up “The Main Event” as I thought it was “Saturday Night’s Main Event.” Glad I got that straight. Part of this match is on the Ultimate Collection DVD and seeing that 24 years later reminded me of another OMG moment back then. I was 17 going on 18 and watching it all when here comes Earthquake. He spreads Warrior out getting ready to do the “big one” as Vince comments how there isn’t going to be a WrestleMania, this is gonna do it! I said a phrase in my head which surprised me. Why would I say THAT? It wasn’t “Oh, no!” Not anything like that at all. My face looked shocked as I just fluffed it off when Hulk Hogan came to help. This all led up to WMVI like the date today – ha ha! I forgot all about what was in my head although being fake means nothing to what your brain perceives. Fast forward to 2014 and there’s me again much older watching that clip. My brain said this silly phrase once more as I laughed recalling 1990 and being a senior in high school watching it all unfold.

Warrior knows all this now and when seeing it I’ll say to him out loud: I’m not saying it!” I don’t even use these words at all but they are common. Then, I’d laugh as it all comes back one more time meaning that 1990 moment. Here’s the funnier part. Sometimes, when I’m working out listening to my favorite playlist, some songs will play with this certain word in the title or lyrics. If you’ve been here long enough, you know music is a thing with me but it’s super common for spirits to manipulate. You just have to believe. All true. I laugh again as we need to do more. The songs really can connect as I could share much about this. So, yes my friends- Warrior IS ok and we joke around a lot. I have my serious moments too but there’s always a pick me up along the way.

Let’s all be OK because we have to be and need to be. However that looks to you get to a point where being OK is a goal. Sure, we all have days of sadness, anger, disappointment, and all that but let’s win the match with happiness, laughter, and acceptance. Once we do this, our lives will get easier in so many ways. Believe too that any of your loved ones in spirit want the same for you as well. I know they do for me, especially Warrior when it comes to all my memories.

Those silly words I said back in 1990 still are true today and I had no idea how relevant they’d become. I wasn’t OK watching that and my brain panicked but not in the way you’d think. You’ll have your words to remember too but always include how will all be ok because eventually we will be. Look to the funny as one of the best ways to get there. We may have never met but I just want you all to be happy as well. Try music – it works for me! 😉😂🎼

P.S. It’s also Groundhog Day here in the U. S. I don’t get this tradition. It’s still Winter anyway! 🙄🥶🤦🏻‍♀️
