Peel Those Layers πŸŽ¨

*** This post is a day early so Warrior Tuesday today. Our dog is having ACL surgery tomorrow so my mind will be elsewhere. Send her prayers!! πŸΆπŸ™πŸ»***

I know, I know… I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again. Even though I LOVED all the colors Warrior used for his mask over the years, I liked when that paint got peeled off so I could see him underneath. Yes fans, I realize that paint was so iconic to his character and some didn’t like the unpainted look for a time. He wouldn’t be the Ultimate Warrior without it, right? I get it- believe me warriors.

Did you ever start peeling off chipped or cracked paint and just had to keep going? It was driving you nuts!! I’ve done that before and am doing it now with my nail polish. Maybe some of you aren’t bothered by it at all but of course this just really isn’t about paint. You know that if you’ve read my posts before. The Ultimate Warrior had his masks, we all have ours in a way but let’s get to the real stuff underneath. I compare it to peeling an onion. You can say orange but an onion has more layers and will make you cry! We gotta do that to get through it all. The peeling and the crying.

Do you feel the need to “peel off” or “peel away” what no longer serves a purpose in your life? Oh boy, I’ve been doing this for years now and it’s still going on. I mention some things in my book Spirit and Belief and how I was moving away from old habits, people, food, and yes- even beliefs. It’s part of my awakening and we all have our own versions whether or not you consider yourself spiritual . Warrior had his too. We have to peel off the old to make room for the new. That’s how it was for Hulk Hogan ( yes, he’s mentioned here again) when he “peeled” off his Heavyweight title to make room for the NEW which became the Ultimate Warrior as champion. Yes, it was hard for him to do that. We all probably know the stories but it’s hard for US to peel off stuff or situations we become very attached to. We hold on so tight because we are afraid of anything new. Does this sound like you?

Even the simplest things can be difficult to peel away since they have been with us so long. Routines can be hard enough to change but what about relationships, jobs, or a big life decision? Yeah, those require much more from us and lots of peeling. When I peeled back my paint of layers, there never seemed to be an end. Once I thought I got thru one, more kept coming. It’s for life warriors, it really is. We have to keep peeling to get to what we truly need. Literally, you’d get to the inside of that onion but I’m talking about life issues here of course.

I’ve had to peel away these physical symptoms to find what really caused them and it isn’t typical at all. I am more educated now about the realness of my layers and am still learning all the time. It doesn’t have to be negative at all although our fears tend to take over. It is teaching us something and we, as warriors will fight on thru those layers. I bet you even know what some of yours are. I know Warrior did also as very few saw underneath to his true self. Maybe you just don’t connect to something much anymore yet still the paint remains. It could be crumbling or fading but you keep it because it’s yours. It’s familiar, comfortable, and convenient. You know what I’m saying, don’t ya?

Those layers could go deep and be stuck so hard, nothing can get it off. It will be a struggle but if we stay the same, we won’t grow. Rooms in our houses need new paint over time, a car might, and yes the Ultimate Warrior needed new paint too. I know some people that never change much at all and are perfectly content. I do keep some things the same for a bit but then get bored and need to mix it up. Us warriors are not robots as you may know. Change is part of life with all its painted layers. We feel it all- the ugly, bad, good, and great which will come. We just have to believe it’s underneath that painted face or even onion.

We do need to start over in new ways and we’ll know when that is. Sometimes, the signs are right in front of us but we ignore them. Other times, we realize those signs are pointing us in a new direction that will be better for us even though we may not know it then. Warrior leaving the business of wrestling comes to mind for me here but I can connect my life too like I always do.

Keep peeling those layers so the real you can shine through. That paint will come off if you work hard enough. It may not peel as easily as the Ultimate Warrior’s mask but once it does, a new colorful you will take its place. Throw that smelly πŸ§… away and enjoy a good cry. It’s exactly what you need to see the truth behind those layers you fought against.

P.S. That photo above of U.W. was taken during the Royal Rumble of ’90 when he and Hogan were in the ring together. A “what if” moment of last week! I hope this post was “a- peeling” for you (: Stop crying!!!

Corners of the Ring πŸ€Όβ€β™€οΈ

Before starting today’s post, those numbers keep coming my way. Here are the last two I noticed. Just recently, post number 222 was written. Guess I never paid that much attention to these triple digits much past 100. I just thought it was cool! That takes us to today as this was originally called: “Four Corners of the Ring.” That title was too long and the number four has been referenced a few times as it’s brought back yet again. I bet you fans already would know corners of the ring obviously means four.

I wanted to take a wrestling term and apply it to our lives but that’s kinda what I do on here much anyways. Well, it’s the perfect metaphor so I decided to run with it. Not like the Ultimate Warrior but am sure you get the idea, lol! The wrestlers have that squared circle of four corners but us “humanoids” as Bobby “The Brain” or “weasel” Heenan would say have our four corners too. Here’s my list and you can mix it up, overlap some, or add anything you wish.

1. Yourself ( personality, beliefs, hobbies, Spirit)

2. Family ( Home Life)

3. Work/ School ( financial livelihood, profession, career, business)

4. Friends (social activities, recreation)

Again, you can relate this to your own life personally but think I covered the basic areas.

As with both my blogs, one word that does seem to repeat is balance. That’s tough, isn’t it? We may never have all four totally balanced as one might suffer but we do the best because we’re warriors. You can also list them in any way of your choosing but do you agree with my list? Those wrestlers also had four corners of their lives that weren’t just four corners of the ring. Maybe one area would dominate but all four would still be there. Your ranking and actions decide on how the four corners work in your life. Most of us don’t have a wrestling ring to bounce off of but we certainly bounce around enough trying to balance those areas without ropes holding us up.

Which area(s) need improvement? All can be better but what is your strength or weakness? Maybe some days it’s different depending on your schedule. After all, we can’t do too much in a day that’s only 24 hours minus eating and sleeping. You might also have those days that feel like a wrestling ring as one keeps fighting off many opponents. Your worst opponent can also be yourself trying too hard getting it all done.

Warrior definitely had to balance his four corners that mentally felt like gorilla press slams at times. Of course during his entire career, number 2 on my list wasn’t much of a factor for him. Thankfully, he never had to balance that family life with a work life on the road.

Some may say he didn’t have much as far as number four goes but your list will never equate another’s and shouldn’t. Yours is yours and how you balance it is all up to you. For the most part, his four corners of opponents were primarily number 1 and 3. Yes, over time the others get involved but with wrestling as his number 3, he always put number 1 first. It can be misunderstood as being selfish but isn’t at all. His beliefs defined him in such a way that without them, he would never have a 2, 3, or 4. That’s exactly how it should be for us all which is why I ranked them in such an order.

We need to spend time on each corner of our rings and in each. Let’s not judge one another based on what each corner holds. You may have something in one of your corners that someone else doesn’t. They can form tag teams at times too. We need that extra help when we’re down. This doesn’t mean each should get less time to fully participate in your matches of life. We will never be exactly right on any as the scales may tip quite often. Use your time wisely as Warrior referenced often in his videos. Yes, it’s hard, it all is. Your response to them is what matters.

If one isn’t handled well, the others may fall apart too. It’s o.k. to not know the outcome. We aren’t handed a script like the wrestlers are but just show up and do the work to balance those four corners. So, warriors-what are your four corners of the ring and do they compare to mine? If you had 2 tag teams in a match, wouldn’t all 4 participants want a chance in that ring? Of course they would but not all will get the pin. You are the writer so you get to plan it all. Just make sure the winner isn’t for anyone else but you. The audience in wrestling may let their feelings known as to favorites but in your life, all is fair. Keep that balance of your four corners without getting disqualified. Life is many matches, let’s all be ultimate winners! πŸ’―πŸ’œ

Looking Back on Gifts πŸŽ

Well, warriors- I finally did it! I posted a pic of the DVD and book together as today it’s about my memories of receiving both. Of course “The Ultimate Collection” DVD was released in 2014 and the book “A Life Lived Forever” in 2015. In typical ME fashion, I have a few stories to share upon finding each gift at my house. πŸ“—πŸ“€

Let’s start with the DVD since that was first. When Warrior had passed, I had seen clips of WWE’s “Warrior Week” and a pop up on the screen was of “The Ultimate Collection.” I had heard he was working on this and synchronistically (remember that?) it was coming out in April. My mind didn’t even want to focus on that since I was listening to these commentators sitting around a table discussing Warrior. I didn’t order then but within a day or so knew buying it was a must. Unlike collectors who may possibly get anything they can lay their hands on, I looked up reviews and found out pretty much what was included. The “Always Believe” DVD was similar but listening to his family at that time would have been way too emotional. I also didn’t want to hear others opinions and really, I just wanted Warrior’s words his way.

The DVD arrived on the last day of my kids Spring Break, that figures. At least it wasn’t a Saturday when my husband would check the mail. No way was I ready to explain this to him at all. After a few agonizing days of waiting, finally I had the house to myself. It actually was raining so even MORE time if I wanted since the dog wouldn’t get her walk. I get upset too if she doesn’t get her walk in but not that day!! I spent about 3 days on and off watching and for the first time in a while, I laughed! Big belly laughs came out of me as I texted my brother much about matches, interviews, and much more. He was very gracious to answer despite not on a lunch break, lol.,, So many flashbacks and so many new things too.

***SPOILER ALERT***

For those that don’t own one or both, you may want to skip these next few parts. I am doing a little bit of a spoiler alert here so read at your own risk!

I had forgotten about Lord Alfred Hayes, didn’t know Percival “Percy” Pringle III from the Dingo Warrior days was Paul Bearer later on, and had no idea “The Disciple” in WCW was none other than Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake! So much fun it was to reminisce…

Now, let’s move onto the book “A Life Lived Forever.” Once I heard about it’s release, I didn’t need to look up anything this time. Triple H had done a short video but I already knew it was coming my way. After arriving home from the grocery store one morning in April ( yes again) of 2015, there was a package on my front stoop. I knew it was the book. I didn’t even unpack hardly anything before opening it up. Good thing it wasn’t hot outside or my freezer stuff would’ve been melting! πŸ₯΅πŸ₯Ά

Here’s the interesting part. For some odd reason, I opened the book from back to front first. Why did I do that? Of course I had no idea ( SPOILER again) the personal letters from his warrior girls ended the book. That was more than enough to distract me from the stacked food on my kitchen table. I then immediately closed it as tears formed in my eyes. Am sure you know it became my reading material for the next few days. Some stories in there I knew but then there were those WOW and shocker moments for me.

I am so grateful to have both these gifts as they have inspired me in so many ultimate ways. I do hope more people can understand who Warrior genuinely was in spite of his difficult past. One of my favorite parts is when they ranked his greatest matches and most would think WMVI would be number 1. It isn’t. It’s number 2 behind WMVII. Sorry, spoiler again! I loved Warrior and Randy together and can really see why that was picked as number 1. I also am glad more is explained in detail about Warrior’s HOF induction as talks happened a few years prior than most think. We need the good, bad, AND great as it’s all in there. I never even saw Dana’s foreword until weeks later as the pages were stuck together! They also have an old wrestling license of Warrior’s as Jim Hellwig of course but when did he live in Oregon? Such great stuff and it definitely will stay with me for years. πŸ’™

So, warriors-there’s my stories of both the DVD and book. I can add many more but will leave it at this. Am sure any of you who own them have your memories of receiving and can share too. Not everyone will have reactions to collectibles or purchases but I am always ultimately humbled that I do! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’œπŸ™πŸ»πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ€—

What’s in Your Gear Bag?

Let’s answer this question the obvious way first warriors. We can start with what the Ultimate Warrior would pack in his own gear bag. Am sure there would be a water bottle, sweat towel, change of clothes, an energy drink or snack maybe, and perhaps back in the day- face paint! Your “gear” could be the same ( minus the paint) along with our personal items. Us women could use a make-up boost after sweating to a workout.

Now, let’s think more about what’s really in our gear bag. These things aren’t of a physical nature at all but should always be with us. Confidence, energy, stamina, integrity, determination, and so many other virtues have to be packed all the time. Warrior had plenty of those, do you? Some come out of the bag during that intense workout but some stay hidden always “zipped” shut. It’s not that bad when those traits are just about us but when they involve others is when an ultimate challenge begins. We can work on ourselves all the time in many areas of our lives and it’s tough. It’s even tougher when we tag team relationships into a gear bag that’s already packed full.

Our whole being and personality are packed so tight that when it gets messed up or jostled around, we panic. Hand raised here. πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ “I know I packed those socks, where are they?” If only life were as simple as a missing pair of 🧦. It isn’t just about bringing that gear bag to the gym everyday. Sometimes we empty the whole thing or simply only pack a few necessary items for a brief time. Quite the metaphor for life as you can probably figure out where this is headed. We let some people in and bring them close but then others we may not ever see at the “gym.”

Do you have a big gear bag always ready to go for anything while being throughly prepared? You could be the one who only brings the essentials and wings it depending on what workout you’ll do. The truth is warriors- we do both and are both. Everyday is not the same although it could start out that way. We may pack for something we don’t truly WANT and then find ourselves missing something we truly NEED. It’s like literally packing for weather we can’t control but of course I mean deeper stuff here.

The workout of life is much harder than just hitting the gym for a few hours. Just make sure despite what you pack, you’ll be prepared for anything because that’s how we have to be. Isn’t that the Boy Scout motto? We make sure we have our wallet, keys, and phone but we need to have our REAL stuff in there too. Your inner character counts the most as possessions can be replaced.

Warrior always brought HIMSELF along with any gear bag he might’ve had. Sure, the gyms changed over the years as did the workouts some but his essence never did. Whether he was in character as the Ultimate Warrior or Warrior, his gear bag contained his disciplines, beliefs, and passions all the same.

Let’s remember no matter where our gear bag takes us, that it’ll keep the good stuff despite any of the bad. We also can’t be so zipped up that’s it’s air tight. Open it up a little to breathe. That workout isn’t gonna be easy all the time but we show up because that’s what warriors do. If something doesn’t work anymore, get rid of it and begin again. Gear, just like relationships change over time so you need to decide what to pack and what to leave behind.

We will always have our physical selves in that gear bag but don’t forget your emotional and mental selves too. Those are just as important if not more so. What’s in your gear bag warriors? Well, only you will really know that answer as most can be the same. Once you leave your workout of life, you’ll know what you packed mattered and made a difference. Warrior made a difference and he wants us all to make one too so always believe! Unzip it and use what works, leave the rest…

P.S. All those who read my synchronicities last week with numbers, it was post number 222! How about that? 😳

All The Likes #30 πŸ’™πŸ’™

We have made it to yet another DATE of a milestone. WrestleMania VII was 30 years ago TODAY which is blog day for me. Another one is coming next week, who can guess? πŸ€”For today, it’s those two above that I have all the likes for. I’ve done enough posts on them together but of course had to celebrate their WrestleMania as friends. They also had all the likes and respect for one another and I know with their energy, they still do…

I decided to get back with a more easy going topic and it’s been in my head a while now. These silly things made me go back and forth with sharing but as many know, ideas come running just like the Ultimate Warrior himself! WMVII was the ONLY time he never ran to the ring, hmmm… This one is about a few of the “likes” Warrior and I both have but not exactly similar to past posts. I’ve mentioned libraries or books, a movie, (The Lion King) music or songs,(think the band Firehouse) climate, geography, and even our beliefs. Now, it’s time for food.

Yes, we all probably remember how disciplined Warrior was with eating but a few items stand out for me. Fans will recall he and Steve Borden (Sting) eating tuna out of a can and then Warrior continued that years later. I did post about a missing tuna can once and have eaten it out of a can as well. It does have a bit of a kick that’s for sure! 😳🐟

I have fond childhood memories of my mom making tuna fish sandwiches or tuna on toast and even on saltines. Always loved it. Maybe you do too but I still love it today. It just makes me smile thinking of Warrior. I know he ate it for different reasons and yes- it is good for you, minus the mayo and extras! All the likes here too.

Another “foodie” is coffee ice cream. I can’t have either of those right now because of my “tummy issues” but here’s my fun connector with Warrior. Way back, Dana had mentioned Warrior’s like of coffee ice cream. Very rarely did he indulge but it made me think of a story that happened almost 19 years ago. I had always wanted to try it but knew I’d be up all night since coffee affects me. It is not a morning treat for me together. My husband and I were on our honeymoon in the Poconos of PA which I have also mentioned before too. If I could attach another pic here, I would. He took a photo of me standing on top of Mt. Pocono holding my coffee ice cream cone. So, in case any are wondering- nope, didn’t sleep much that night considering I had this yumminess later in the day. All the likes though yet again.

The last food reference ( ya know there had to be a 3 count!) would be chocolate almonds. I have always loved nuts but another no-no for me right now, ugh! Dana had shared more little insights into Warrior likes and this was one of them. I think she talked about when they’d all go to the movies and chocolate almonds were his choice. Am sure again it was a rare experience but enough for me to keep in my brain. One day shortly after knowing that, my husband brought home a bag and set it on our kitchen counter. I gasped thinking how I just found out about chocolate almonds and Warrior. He says to me: “We never had these before and I thought you’d like them.” I just stared at the bag and chuckled. All the likes one more time.

You may be thinking that I copied or emulated Warrior but I assure you that is not nor will it ever be the case with me. Another post was written about not doing things because someone else does them or likes them. This is just me being me. I will admit thought how it is very different when a celebrity likes or liked something you do and how it makes one feel. It’s not the same as when let’s say you and your aunt both like olives on pizza. Your reaction is not going to be anything close to the reaction with a famous person.

You also may have these food stories or others I’ve mentioned similar to Warrior. Many of you will also have tons more to add with my list. I just shared to give everyone a good laugh and to remind how we are just people deep down with all the likes. I don’t go searching for connectors but like to know we had stuff in common. Fans do that in their own way, including me. You may agree or think I’m “nuts” ( pun intended!) but ah well, these are my writings after all!!!

I will always have all the likes for those two Superstars together and not just with their WMVII match. I will also have all the likes with Warrior that are forever in my memory. You will have yours too. Just laugh about them and know we are all connected in many ways. HAPPY 30th WMVII!!!!!!! 3/24/91.

P.S. I wonder if there were any foods Randy really liked? I have heard how he drank LOTS of coffee! πŸ˜‚β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

What’s Your Opportunity? πŸ€”πŸ˜¬

I’m sure you all have heard some of these expressions: “wasted opportunities,” “opportunity knocks just once,” or even “don’t let opportunities pass you by!” Yep, I’ve heard them all too. Some of us squander opportunities while some grab every chance they get. There will always be those things in our lives that make us ponder which way to go. Do we take that job? Is it too much of a risk? Will I get another opportunity like this again?

Many good questions that we face all the time. Most may know about Warrior’s opportunities and how he chose a wrestling possibility over pursuing bodybuilding more or even continuing his chiropractic education. I chose working full time in my field of study over college during the day but did go to school at night. That job wasn’t going to be there long so opportunity was knocking for sure back then.

You can connect to opportunity many times in your own life warriors. The problem with us is we want instant gratification and we want it now. You know what I mean. Warrior and Sting craved success in their early years together and thought fame would come sooner. It takes much work and lots of time as they learned.

When opportunity presents itself to you, there are so many options. Just remember when one passes you by, another will always come along. It may not be in the same way but it will line up eventually. With Dana, WWE presented her many different opportunities that involved the Ultimate Warrior brand but she passed on several. Of course it was very challenging for her with trying to preserve his legacy while creating a new life for herself. Now, she has other opportunities with the company that have come along.

We may look back at our lives and see some missed opportunities but please don’t regret the ones you didn’t take. Yes, your life could be very different had you made other choices but lessons learned are indeed valuable. Maybe another even took an opportunity possibly meant for you. Will you be upset or just accept it as is? Warrior had many opportunities once he got out into Hollywood and starred in some movies. He decided that wasn’t for him and never looked back. The stories are endless and you can add your own to this list for sure.

Warrior had a wonderful and ultimate opportunity creating such a legendary character forever remembered in WWE history and beyond. Some may say Vince McMahon gave him lots of opportunities to “make” the character but Warrior had other plans. Who knows what else they could’ve done together but sometimes our own agenda dictates which way opportunity goes. He didn’t agree to all that was before him and we shouldn’t either. You will know which opportunities present themselves the best and which you may just have to say “no thank you” to.

Right now with my kids, it’s all about new and exciting opportunities as they get closer to college, careers, and much more. So many choices but how to choose what’s best? That is a dilemma for each in their own way but our free will and intuition lend a hand. People say America is the “land of opportunity” but really that can be true wherever we are. Without that word, we will never grow and evolve into who we need to be. Those opportunities make us wiser, more educated, and better off for having faced them. Maybe they don’t though. It is after all part of this human life each of us are living.

Alright warriors, what opportunities lie ahead for you? Well, we can say EVERYTHING! The Ultimate one would want nothing less from any of us. Something squandered can be something gained. Don’t look at them being failures because there are always lessons to learn. Opportunities await all over your life from the personal to the professional. Nothing is wasted because it’s always there for us.

You can get opportunities presented to you but maybe you will also present to another. The Ultimate Warrior and Warrior himself took on many in his life and most we won’t be faced with in the same way. Take your own opportunities and make them work to your advantage. Warrior always believed, I do, and you need to also. I’ll leave you with a quote: It’s through curiosity and looking at opportunities in new ways that we’ve always mapped our path.” ~~~

P. S. I recently posted a pic on Twitter but have found many blue Jay feathers lately. That is one of my MAIN signs from Warrior. I had found 5 and the owner of this spiritual shop bought 5 of my books last week! πŸ“—πŸ“—πŸ“—πŸ“—πŸ“—Just found 2 more yesterday making 7!

P.P.S. I was there for an Energy Healing. It is something I believe in addition to traditional methods. This healer and I chatted briefly as I told her a few things about me, my blogs, book etc. While on the table, she noticed my tattoo. She asked if it was connected to “the man in my book.” I had not told her anything. I said yes and explained what it was. She said she could totally feel the ENERGY!

My Warrior Therapy πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ»

You want some more?”

That’s what the Ultimate Warrior was saying above. He was motioning to Bobby Heenan at ringside during his 1989 Summerslam match against Ravishing Rick Rude. U.W. won the IC belt back. So, you warriors want more? You got it, here it is. I’m getting a little more personal with my current health issues but like a warrior, I’m doing the work because I always believe. πŸ’œβœ¨

The last several months have been quite the “ultimate challenge” for me. Mostly it has to do with GI issues that I finally had evaluated. As a warrior, I tried so hard figuring this out on my OWN but finally realized I needed help. Even warriors need help, remember that post? So, after a CT scan in the ER and an appointment with a GI doctor, I had some results. Turns out he recommended a colonoscopy to find the root cause. The prep drink- NOT FUN! I kept saying: “I am a warrior…” thru it all. I have diverticulosis (a mild form but is genetic in my family) and an ulcer. So many people around me are sharing their stories and also spiritual folks like myself with similar GI problems. Makes me feel so ultimately loved. Now, I think it’s a little bit of a gluten sensitivity. Could just be ulcer related, I don’t know for sure… Do I need ultimate support here or what?

All of this has caused much stress which led to back and shoulder pain. I decided my home remedies were o.k. but not enough. Do I contact a chiropractor( almost Warrior’s profession back then) or a physical therapist? Hmmm. They are similar for sure and when I looked up info a few words clotheslined me about chiropractors: “inspire and empower.” Wow. Sounds like Warrior, right? People who may still not fully identify with his spiritual nature need to remember how this field of study isn’t just the physical body but the holistic spiritual one. It’s all healing and Warrior has always been my therapy anyway. I look to him for inspiration and empowerment just like his first possible profession.

I decided on a PT because of other body parts giving me problems, geez… πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈThe woman I used to sit for goes to him and I got plenty of feedback from others. My husband and I had gone to the Vitamin Health Shoppe to get some probiotics and happened to mention my back situation with the sales lady. She pulled out a card of someone her daughter sees and it was the SAME PT the woman I sat for uses! There’s two signs warriors so I called him.

He is the perfect person for me and as soon as I walked into the office, I knew. He had hawk bird feathers which is one of my spirit animalsπŸͺΆ, some crystals which I also use, and many books on religions of the world including Buddhism and Christianity. So many others as books are for me too! One would assume books on the body or PT would abound but nope, didn’t see any of those! Already knowing I was gonna love him and I do as we bonded over many topics. We could talk for hours and seemed to that first session. His beliefs are very similar to mine as I even mentioned my writing to him. Seems that my dear friend told him I wrote a book but left the details to me. πŸ₯° He was fascinated and asked what I blog about. He won’t know this one concerns him. 🀫He is quite the spiritual guy believing in alternative methods to heal the body besides traditional medicine. I know we need them also sometimes but it’s about empowerment with PT too.

Another aspect that Warrior wanted was to educate and that is definitely what all this is teaching me. I am doing better but it’s trial and error many days. I do have an Energy Healing session soon so she’s had GI issues too. Talk about the right people coming into my life at the right time. So many of you may not connect but I need to heal in different ways and with my beliefs, the energy healer is a step in the right direction. After all, Warrior was much about that in those two dreams I had recently…

I have a Warrior up in “parts unknown” always and despite these difficult situations, I won’t ever give up. That’s not part of a Warrior’s creed to do so. I am very grateful to have the help I need while still being inspired and empowered everyday. I realize many may experience more challenges than me but as warriors, we battle on.

Even though he didn’t become that chiropractor, Warrior served others in many different ways. We need to do that too. These recent experiences are paving the road for me to share this story so I can serve in my OWN warrior way. Wishing you all holistic health with an ultimate dose of inspiration and empowerment! πŸ’ͺ🏻

I Knew You When… πŸ’™πŸ’ͺ🏻

Have you ever heard someone say those words to you above? Maybe you’ve even said them to another. We all have been in those situations when seeing someone after many years or just in regular conversation. Recently, I came across a few other YouTube videos . They really just come to my feed, I don’t go searching as I’ve said before. These are on THE HANNIBAL TV channel and the interviews are with Bill Anderson. He trained Warrior and Sting before they became such great Superstars. The other video is a shortened version in which Bill discusses his long friendship with Warrior even after wrestling. They remained friends and Warrior even references Bill in his HOF speech. I will link both at the end.

Bill was honest with his words but again, time spent with “Jim” and “Steve” were years ahead of their claim to fame and all the pressures that go with pro-wrestling. Of course, over the years people do evolve in their attitudes or lifestyles but we will always have those who will say they knew us when… A memory of mine involves the girls I used to babysit for many years ago. They are grown women now and have moved on from those young years but I still knew them way back when. One I watched as an infant and now she is a mother with almost 2 babies! We all still keep in touch today.

The one thing that will remain the same and I hope this is true for you too is that your core never goes away. Deep down, despite age and people that come and go, you are still you. Yes, we are influenced always by external forces and may respond different than another but our true self and values stay intact. Think about that family relative who approaches you at a reunion or wedding perhaps. What do they say if it’s been years? I’m sure you know that answer. They will always “see” you as that child or teen even though now it’s marriage with kids. Our birth family treats us the same way and we probably reciprocate. We share stories, remembering details of back then, and look at someone grown who is still younger to us. It’s just our human nature to do so. Am sure parents will agree on this about their own kids as well.

Bill mentions many qualities of both legends and most are truly positive. He actually takes a “dig” at Sting which is usually the opposite with Warrior in these bios. Nothing big really but mentions their hard start, good natured ways, and striving for success. We all know how times changed in regards to the price they paid for fame but still believed in the good. There will always be stories told forever and everyone wants pay dirt but to get to the heart of a person takes guts.

How many can say despite much that has changed in our lives, that those who knew us when are still right? We will have many many challenges and fame definitely has its share but will others who knew our younger selves say the same about us now? It’s hard to know really but I do know with Warrior, deep down he still was that guy who became humbled with his roots while still yearning for success. How one handles it is different for all and not one of us should judge based on what we think could happen. Those who did know us when younger may not recognize our traits now as adults but maybe some will.

We move on as everyone does. Our beliefs may expand but our foundation remains. I can attest to this as many from my past still consider me the same even though much with outside circumstances change. I am still that introvert but know how to manage it better and let it work for me. Warrior was too but he wanted to be that extroverted character to prove himself. Once he got into weights, his whole life changed. I do believe he was always creative and that part of him remained into adulthood. Quite possibly those who knew him in Indiana may agree? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

You will only ever see one side of someone as a youngster because they aren’t faced with life choices that will affect them quite yet. I know people who can’t believe how introverted I was as a kid even though I still am. Then again, those who knew me when still can’t believe I wrote a book! It goes both ways as am sure your own recollections are relatable.

The next time you are thinking of saying you knew someone when… look at it from their point of view. Would your memory be harmful or helpful to them? Are you just bragging or will you attest to their true nature of today? Even though they might throw that statement back at you, at least you have thought enough about it. You understand what it means. We will all have our own memory banks but let’s be mindful in how we use them towards others.

Bill Anderson shared his stories of a different time with those two trainees but was respectful. Yes, it all changed but again way down deep, one doesn’t. Followers can say you knew me when this blog was a baby and now it’s going on FIVE! We will all know someone when but I hope it can be good on both ends. We can have our memories while keeping humility at heart. β€οΈπŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

The Pressure to Perform

Hey warriors… Have you ever felt pressured to perform in front of a crowd? Of course. All of us have at least a few times in our lives. Giving speeches in school, acting in plays, singing, dancing, and yes- even wrestlers like the Ultimate Warrior. Was your performance based on a requirement, want, or pressure from others? Perhaps it’s a combination of all those. The Ultimate Warrior felt that pressure as many of his former colleagues jumped “rings” from WWE to WCW back then. Yes, he was paid well for a short time period but still wanted to incorporate new ideas into their Nitro program. Such pressure indeed.

The pressure can be good although many times we view it as bad. Maybe it’s the word itself. Sometimes we may even feel like we are in a pressure cooker and our performance either pops or fizzles out. It is very different for those involved in fame but again, we always have choices. Just showing up and performing at life is our best with or without anyone else thinking so. We may have to do things we truly don’t want to so the pressure is upon us. It’s all in how we handle it even when making sacrifices.

Think about anytime in your life where you had to make a decision on how to handle pressure. I can think of many. It doesn’t have to be physically performing let’s say in front of an audience but maybe something different. Standing up to a bully can be pressure but not performing exactly. It could even be arguing your point of view against another even though you don’t want to hurt feelings. There will always be consequences despite the best efforts but our free will determines the outcome. One day perhaps you’ll look back and know that pressure made you perform and without it, you never would – at least not in the same way.

I do and love a lot of activities but sometimes feel the need to conform based on pressure from others or what they do. It happens to us all. We may conform but then we may not. Our job shouldn’t depend on it but in some cases it seems to. If you find yourself in that situation, look for the best and perform positively despite pressure. If you really can’t, you’ll know how it affects you and others.

Warrior felt the pressure of performing his character with how wrestling always was in regards to gimmicks and such. He may have caved to some storylines but resisted the pressure to do things always in the business way.

The same can be said for all of us only with differing aspects. None of us parents the exact same way and yet we feel pressure to perform like all the others. We don’t do anything like another but that word of pressure always remains. How we perform under it is the main event.

Many times did I find myself caving to pressure to please or simply just to get it over with. I may still as some situations aren’t worth the fight as much but when it truly counts, I don’t cave. It is so much harder to withstand that pressure but your performance will be worth it. At least I hope it is for you. The easy road isn’t always the better one and you will be stronger for having that courage under pressure.

Some people like how Warrior was caved under pressure to prove to themselves mostly that they will follow thru. Not everything has to be a battle but if it is, win it the best even if under pressure to do so. Once he stepped away from that performing, pressure still remained for him but in new opportunities. He would always say striving to be more creative kept him going. While continuing to motivate or inspire others, his performance became less about the physical and more about the mental.

Our performances in life will sometimes fail or sometimes get standing ovations. Even if you don’t hear “BRAVO!” (not Dino, wrestling fans…) or see a sign cheering you on, know your pressure doesn’t have to be so big. Doing your best with what you’ve got is good enough to earn respect and should. We don’t need a wrestling arena, T.V. set, or movie screen to know performers as they are around us everyday. It’s in you, me, and everyone you meet. There will always be pressure in every area of your life but perform to be happy and the rest will come. If you are loving who you are and what you do, others will give that BRAVO or anything deserving.

We owe it to ourselves not to let the pressure of performing take over lest we lose why we are really us. Receive all that life has to offer but take the pressure off sometimes. Let’s just be performers enjoying our lives because they are ours to OWN. You are a warrior just like me. Be gentle with yourself, we need that more. πŸ’œπŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’™

Silly or Serious? πŸ˜œπŸ€”

There’s a question for you warriors. If you have ever watched pro-wrestling, is it silly or serious? When I first started watching, I loved the silliness of it all way back when. Does anyone remember the Piledriver album and the music videos they did back in the 80’s? That was during the MTV craze and WWF just had to be part of it all. Like I’ve said before, the humor got to me first before any drama slammed its way into my life.

Warrior had made references to wrestling being both silly and serious. In the book “A Life Lived Forever,” he explained how his step-dad would watch at night. After arriving home late on the weekends with his buddies, the T.V. channel got changed when “Jim” came in the door. Warrior thought it was “goofy” as he wasn’t into it at all. On The Ultimate Collection DVD, he talks about the seriousness of wrestling as he approached his character. His quote: “It’s serious. It’s a serious thing to go out there and be a character for the WWE.” Some thought he was crazy for doing so much and taking it all very serious. Us fans know his attention to details made all the difference.

He also confessed on a documentary how sometimes he felt silly for putting on all the face paint, running, and shaking ropes. He was referencing his own character and not that of others with being silly. As intense as he was, the aspects of being Ultimate Warrior got to him at times which is how we all are. I bet you can think of some situations and find the silly and serious stuff to it. I sure hope so. It can be quite an ultimate challenge finding something funny in what is meant to be more intent. We need to sometimes.

From what I gather, there isn’t much silly in wrestling anymore as it has all become more serious mind games. That was a turn off for me but fans still love it all. Vince wanted his business of entertainment taken more seriously than it was in the past. Can you remember something in your life that was both? Let’s see. What would it be for me? Well, to use my development as an example is great here. When I first started opening my psychic intuition, I was very super serious about it. After all, communicating to parts unknown isn’t goofy. You know what? It can be and is! Just read many of my older posts and you’ll know what I mean. It just might take another person to point out a funny moment when you never even saw one. Most may know how humor is involved much with this blog.

There will always be those circumstances in life which are never silly and never will be. We know this. There will also be those experiences that start out one way and then turn into another. I do believe the Superstars back in the day took their job seriously enough but infused much silliness as well. Despite the dramatic storylines, they wanted us to laugh even when we didn’t want to. Just watch old promos or listen to the great commentators of that generation and you’ll get it.

Do you consider yourself more of a serious or silly person? This will interpret how you view your many external forces. I know we are a mix of both but of course it depends on the situation. My brother and I were very funny growing up as was my youngest sister. The other one, not so much. We evolve into different people with age and may look at an event another way. Then again, if something was silly it still will be- at least for me. The serious stuff is exactly the same although I can grin a little easier nowadays. I dunno– The Undertaker, snake bites, Papa Shango, etc. Oh boy! 😬

I always believe in the balance with all that we do. Most thought Warrior was too serious but there are plenty of funny stories about him out there told by many. We need yin and yang all the time warriors. There’s a time for serious and then there’s a time for silly. Just make sure your life has both with whatever comes your way. Our jokes may offend someone just as much as one’s seriousness may cause us to say:”Lighten up!”

When having an emotional or upsetting moment, I try thinking of something that will make me laugh. I’ve done this countless times over the years when reflecting on Warrior and my connection to him. I get a little outburst and then find myself too overwhelmed. It’s then that I think or even say something out loud that lightens the mood. Don’t wallow too long warriors, it’s good to smile and laugh. We NEED more of both.

Think also of other forms of entertainment you are drawn to. The movies, T.V., live shows, and all we watch have the serious and silly. I personally love both and never get just swayed with one. Our brains and heart crave so much and we need to feed it with variety. It’s what makes us human.

The next time you find yourself in a situation or watching some form of entertainment, try to find what’s serious and what’s silly about it. We need to laugh, cry, scream, and FEEL it all. Maybe wrestling still brings out all those emotions for you. It certainly did for me and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Warrior softened his opinions about wrestling over the years as time and age will do that. Let’s bring it all to the mat- the silly stuff and the serious. Even without being a fan of sports entertainment, you are still a fan of your life. Enjoy it all because as warriors, we need it ultimately! πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ₯°
