From Warrior weeds to wishes… 🤍🤞🏻🌬️

I love that new shirt of mine you see below! Can’t believe it was from a thrift store. It had ME all over it. This marks the end of my month with selfies. Next week we’ll be back to Warrior pics as I’m sure you fans prefer seeing him. I’m going to talk a minute about those dandelions mentioned with this title. They even got a sentence in my book, Spirit and Belief. As a kid, did you ever pick them? Maybe it was the yellows but maybe you liked the “dead”ones and made those wishes. Yes, they are weeds but as kids, we saw flowers that populated our yard until being mowed over. No chemicals for us. Did you know they are edible? The yellow ones I mean. Can’t say I ever tried but great for you. I might try in the spring, but still I’m somewhat cautious. I do drink dandelion tea sometimes, super beneficial. 🫖

As adults, I’m sure you don’t make wishes that way anymore but when the mood strikes me, I still do. I remember in the spring after Warrior passed grabbing a few and wishing he was OK. Kind of like my “hopes”in meditation a few weeks back. It might sound silly, but we NEED that imaginative nature that is abundant during childhood. Being playful is so important and despite our serious lifestyles, it is essential. That is something I need to work on too. Sure, I make my jokes but I crave the wonder of little things from time to time. Wishing on dandelions isn’t silly to me, but for some it could be. No, I don’t go skipping about but some kid things never fade from me. How about you? There are those wishing stars too… 💫

I did an entire post several years back on the kid in us so I won’t get into all that again but just spend some time thinking about your wishes. They might come across as weeds but they are yours to dwell upon. I always wish to inspire and educate any of you sharing what works in your life. Even if I just humor you, my wish is that you are entertained! 😉 Get those seeds blowing in the wind warriors…

 I guess we all have many wishes and sometimes it comes across as wants, needs, or just making things better overall. My wants and needs get blurred into one so with my journey, they tend to move that way. We do get inspiration and need other tools to assist us in manifesting besides those dandelions. Think BIG which is another area I need to improve upon. I love little things but aiming big brings us confidence. With me though when that happens, I occasionally give my trust and then it collapses. UGH- it happens to us all. We need the lessons warriors since that is how we grow internally (if you know what I mean here.) Just recently, I had joined a new group and was pretty excited about this moving forward. After my second meeting, a special message was told to me that I fully embraced. It all seemed to be going in the right direction with what I felt and how it went about. I do have lots to learn but always am open.

When visiting with my Energy Healer last week, I discussed that new opportunity. I won’t share the specific details but let’s just say that wasn’t the group for me and the message relayed was invalid. I trust my Healer and guides working through her as that group was new to me. Yeah, I was disappointed as like the saying goes: “one step forward, two steps back.” Right? Maybe I try too hard, I dunno… 🤷🏻‍♀️ We all need to keep going so I was very fortunate to be spared what could’ve been sorta disastrous to me and what I give my energy to. It is hard to end things but thankfully I wasn’t that close so moving on…

A BIGGER wish beyond that part of my life is another area with pursuing a different project of sorts. No idea on the HOW which we have to release but still need to do our part with seed planting.. It is something that’s been on my brain for a while now but it’s baby steps. I can still dream big, but need to let go of the end result. I am more excited about this possible collaboration than that previous group mentioned above. I do wish for this to come about at some point during 2023 and I DO have guidance on it, so we shall see. Maybe I will keep you updated as anything progresses but fingers crossed, it will!

I wish you all those big ideas and sometimes you gotta just go for it despite fear, trust issues, or possible failure. It’s what makes us who we are. If we continue doing and being the same, that’s how we will always be. If you are comfortable with that, fine but most are not. Look at Warrior if you’re stuck on this whole wish list. He kept going with his wishes, dreams, and ideas all the time. Warrior wants the same for us~ he truly does. Up in parts unknown, he along with your own group of cheerleaders just wants you to be happy. We do feel unsure at times and with me I’m usually in the middle. Guess my intuition doesn’t always kick in as my free well is there to decide. You have to make your own choices too warriors.

We need to always believe things will fall into place the way they should and not to rush the process. I will have to brainstorm more on this future project idea (of mine) as it slowly comes together. 💡Connections do matter and we use our strengths to make it happen. They give their gifts and we give ours. The trick is to decipher what is truly right and that sometimes is hard to do. I DO know this idea is ultimately positive and somehow will be brought to life. 🥰👏🏻Maybe when I see the first dandelion turn, I will find it and make this one wish. My eggs are never in one basket so to speak and again~~~ the HOW part is a mystery. I can and will still do the work because it’s part of me always. Make your OWN wishes warriors and plant those seeds. A weed? A flower? Your perspective so let it GROW. Here’s to all your wishes!

P. S. Oh, next week will be more wrestling based (in a way) for those of you craving or missing that!!! Find me on a U.W. fb group, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. You can also check out my book- Spirit and Belief which details a lot more on my spiritual connection to Warrior. His energy inspired my own intuition and psychic gifts to expand! It’s over on Amazon and other book outlets (: 📗💙✍🏻

My Warrior Conversations

That’s me all bundled up in my backyard. I actually took that photo right before NYE for a Facebook video as part of an intuitive group I administer… Plus, before “locking up” with you all today, I wanted to touch on my post about “Home Gym Stories.” Much interest in that one has prompted me to expand just a moment. A moment here on squats. I actually DO them, just not with weights or too many. Now that the majority of my injuries seem to be on the mend- yay, 🤞🏻 I just might get into more with cardio and my elliptical machine again. Baby steps but this girl needs to lose some holiday weight… UGH…

Now, onto my ACTUAL post today. Remember when I mentioned two 2️⃣ things we all need to be grateful for every day? They are your life and health. Well, I felt the need to add to that which will lead into my warrior conversations. I also believe there are two things we want and NEED in our lives that aren’t the physicality of who or what we are. This came to me when thinking of sharing what I will write today. Any thoughts? To me, the answer is love and acceptance. That’s them, period. Everything else follows and is secondary. Love is extremely broad and covers many topics but we give and receive it. At least I hope you all do in someway, no matter how it’s defined. Acceptance is the toughie which we fight for and defend all the time. We really shouldn’t but we do. To just accept another or situation can be extremely difficult and yet despite our sometimes objective nature, we need to. Sure, it’s gonna be hard but once you do~ it will get easier because you won’t need to fight so much.

Once you have acceptance, the love comes. OK, maybe not in that way you are used to but how about understanding instead? Let me explain. I am going to share my Warrior conversation I have every day during morning meditation. Once I set my intentions and send my gratitude, requests, and anything else out to the universe- I speak to Warrior. I’m sure some of you do too in your own way (if you knew him are/were a fan and anything similar.) You know what? It was never awkward for me, never… . These are some “convos” I have with him. It’s not in any specific order but I say these “hopes” like this: “I hope you are still reading, writing, and painting. I hope you are playing with your dogs. I hope you are checking in on your girls and good friends.” I am almost certain he does these things but I say them anyway. Some others go like this:

“Ride your motorcycle, tell everybody hi from me, (especially Randy) there’s too many of you up there… – *cue emotion*-recreate some of your favorite matches but maybe a few would want different endings!”

There’s A LOT more and some are too personal but you get the idea. I always say his mantra first about being bold, brave, and strong of course before diving in. Sometimes too I reference his “Fear is an Aberration” speech or a few others and I never know what feeling I will get. It does vary and often times, we need to just be still and really picture the good. I thank him for working with me and strengthening our connection but I don’t ask WHY anymore. I know the WHY or at least most of it and acceptance comes. Do you talk to any passed loved ones in spirit? if you don’t, no biggie and if you think it’s crazy, that’s fine. The HARDER part for me was writing him which became quite the endeavor last year. My healer friend had that come through and as easy as this is sharing on here, I was stumped with penning him a letter! Isn’t that strange? Guess I’m better at talking to him but like I always say (as did Warrior,) you need to get it on paper. It truly helps. ❤️‍🩹

This last little conversation was a phone call I had over Christmas with a cousin of mine. He is the younger brother of my beautiful soul sista. He busted his knee, called my mom, was bored at home, so asked for some cousins numbers. We rarely see each other as adults now but if anyone recalls, he is the doppelgänger of this boy on the “Ultimate Collection” DVD. Look for the match between U.W. and HTM from 12/17/88. It might also be on YouTube. The camera focuses on this kid near the end who could’ve been my cousin around 13 or so. He was actually 14 then… Too funny. He drops the F bomb often just like Warrior did and had me laughing so hard! 🤣 Such great memories and he is also mentioned in “This Brotherhood of Mine.” What struck me is how he KNEW his sister and I had a bond~ even back then. I never would’ve guessed that but he did. He was a little rebellious to say the least like his three brothers but has a much better and sober life now. We could always talk and he remembers that well.

He called me one of the sweetest, kindest, and honest people he has ever known and I was overwhelmed. 🥹 Sometimes, we don’t feel those complements but I’ve talked about that too. Part of me didn’t accept his words as we become our own worst critics indeed. I never knew he felt that way~ I honestly didn’t. He isn’t that close with his many sisters but calls them all on occasion. I told him I would always talk to him and he knows that. When you are one of 10, life takes all in different directions with lifestyles, careers, and such. Keeping in touch is a lot but we have to want it. Love and acceptance again. It was a great Warrior conversation and I will talk to him soon. His birthday is this month so I am going to zoom in on that boy from the DVD and send it his way. I hope he responds! 😜

Have those conversations warriors however they work for you. Passed loved ones or in person, it doesn’t matter. As long as you do, the love and acceptance is there. It could come in a very unexplainable way, humorous, or not at all for a bit but it will eventually. You have to always believe because the belief gets us through it all. I won’t hear the F bomb from Warrior anymore but he delivered through my cousin who reminded me of some words I needed to hear… Until next time, bring the love and acceptance into honest warrior conversations. Oh, and do your squats! 🫵🏻💪🏻🗣️

Warriors will SHINE 🌟✨

Of course we SHINE! We all do in our own way just like Warrior did and still does. I kept seeing that word of “shine” in many places or reading it so decided to work it in with the last title of 2022. The remaining few Wednesdays I will break for family stuff during the holidays so this is it for a bit. I had to pause a little before beginning today… A few extra warrior things got brought to my attention so I became quite emotional yet truly amazed about some fellow warriors… 🥹🫶🏻 Oh my~~~ what a year it has been. I usually look back on the year and decided once again to do just that with these 43 posts, minus a month. My first one of the year was all about Warrior’s gym, and then his ’08 match in Spain. Hard to believe I wrote those in January. I will share some of my highlights but before doing that, guess there’s another first after all.

Hulk Hogan finally made his way into a dream. Oh brother, ” whatcha gonna do?” Ha ha! Again, one would assume this could’ve happened already considering WMVI among other history, but nope. It probably manifested as a result of watching a few of the WCW days I hadn’t seen in a while. I can see “Hollywood Hogan” specifically with his NWO bearded look very clear walking around outside the ring looking for Warrior. It was brief, but definitely a dream. Now, onto the memorable posts for me this past year.

Since I just mentioned a dream, let’s start there with some that touched me.. Hulk brought on the topic of firsts so how about that? Vince McMahon in one along with Warrior’s younger daughter Mattie as both were extremely special indeed. My daughter in that dream with Warrior’s was very much a first so it’s up there as a moment for sure. The other dream that happened in the same night was Warrior as a summer camp teacher. So much fun seeing him spray those kids with a hose! Loved that playful humor of his. He and Dana both in a different dream during the same night. Talk about a first!

Another stand out for me is when I got a very young college age “Warrior” and his friend fried rice and green grapes. So cool and interesting to see him looking younger close to when he and Sting were the “Freedom Fighters.” Now, my son is in college so I totally relate to how some dreams come about. The last one connected to the Earth goddess of Greek mythology Demeter. I felt so beautiful in my gown picking flowers which led to an incredible lovely moment. I can still picture those gold and silver roses… What a great experience to shine, as I truly did! BTW, I did check and I have had 10 dreams involving Warrior in some way or another this year. Oh my, I believe that has to be a record. 💙😴 There were 2 others and one actually involved a mountain that I posted about a few weeks ago. The other one, well, that was extremely personal as I shared it with a dear friend. It was super funny and it made both of our days. Warrior laughing always makes me shine! That also won’t be blogged but I had to mention those as well.

OK, dreamers we will move on even though it’s always hard to top those Warrior dreams of mine that I am so blessed being given. Another gift I was given was from last winter after Warrior’s old blogs from “Warrior’s Machete” were sent my way. That post was quite a biggie for me but very grateful I was able to spend time really reading all those 71 pages more thoroughly than many years ago. I highlighted several points of Warrior’s as well as sharing my own but it definitely is a huge part of this year in 2022. One of these days, I will go back and reread them again just to feel his words on the page. A few disagreements as usual of course, but he had his opinions and made them known. How many of us can say that? Plus, us writers just know the power of words so I am ultimately grateful.

The next highlight that made me totally shine was being a guest on the “Pick Six” podcast hosted by my friend Vince McKee of Kee on Sports. That was so much fun sharing all about writing, my book, “Spirit and Belief” and how I started following the Ultimate Warrior’s career. It became so wonderful discussing how influential our intuition can be just like Warrior mentioned often. Boy, am I glad I listened to mine and still am. Right around that time was the warrior week brought to me by my cousin. She was so cute sharing all these great little warrior stories, and even sent a photo I used for the post. It started with the word “warrior” on her phone randomly?! and ended with the word of savage. I love when Randy is included too.

A post that was quite hilarious to me in a different way was “That 80’s Vibe!” Just look for my painted Warrior cheeks. Music and dancing in my past along with Warrior’s which brought me such fondness and laughter. What a throwback of a treat! Another one was “Out of this World” which Warrior’s wrist tattoo with Saturn inspired. 🪐 If you are or were a space geek and science nut, that one’s for you. Family stories plus Warrior’s comics are talked about but also a little spiritual. I loved writing those. 🥰

I did have that 4 week break in May which gave me time for painting. No Warrior masterpieces were created but I did need a break from writing despite my resistance. So many intense family milestones and NEW stuff this year~~~ it’s been exhausting. Oh, so worth it as I savor and flow with it all. Warrior’s birthday brought all those great songs plus a few new ones added to the playlist. What an Alexa moment that was for me right after talking with a friend about wrestling. 😂😉Warrior was shining his light so much that day, I thought it must’ve been my birthday! That was another milestone this year.

How about some self -reliance? Yes, that one is a huge one because it connected BOTH my kids as we were just going about our daily lives. My daughter’s report on Ralph Waldo Emerson’s philosophies for school among others and then seeing his self-reliance essay all about success hanging in a music store with my son. Once I read some words of Emerson’s that my girl had at home, I KNEW Warrior had said them. That started it all and the light on self-reliance kept shining brighter and even more Ultimate over the next few days. Warrior was for sure part of those times because, really— how could he not be? 😇💡

Whew… I know that’s a lot of trips down memory lane this year to shine a Warrior light upon but in case you haven’t read any, there’s a little recap. I also have had some other very meaningful surprises along the way (different than that other post,) which overwhelmed me in such a great way. Some people we meet, know, or just connect with in our lives that have a way somehow of shining their light just enough to let ours out a little more. Do you have anyone like that? I hope you do as I also wish for your LIGHT to keep shining despite this crazy holiday time and beyond.

Enjoy the season of magic and be the light that shines for others. They will share theirs with you if we just always believe… Here’s to the end of 2022 and I will return to these writings in January 2023… ✍🏻Celebrate the way YOU love! Happy holidays!

~~~ Kathy~~~
P.S. Here’s to more in year 7, such a great number! 7️⃣ Oh, I also found a few more Bluejay feathers this year too! I did check and I had mentioned 7️⃣ previous posts, so how about that with this number?
Climb the Mountain 🧗‍♀️🏔️
I’ve seen this photo of the Ultimate Warrior plenty but it’s a first using it today. Not sure if that was a photo shoot somewhere or just a simulated backdrop but either way, super cool for me. That got me thinking of a mountain whether literally or metaphorically, both work. Warrior lived in the desert, then the mountains and felt such a sense of belonging there always. Me, I’m not close to either but there are plenty of cliffs and such in nearby parks. My one sister lives in Washington state so plenty of mountains out there in the Pacific Northwest. Ever climbed any? I know of course people have climbed Mount Everest among others but I’m not talking about that. I bet you have traversed some though.
We all do but not those real ones. Once you conquer a goal, you are at the top of that mountain. Warrior did that much in his life and then there were always new ones to conquer. Ever see the game show
The Price is Right?” If you are outside of the U.S. maybe not, but I totally remember the mountain climber cliffhanger game! There would be yodeling too. They showed this little climber guy moving along a mountain and it was all about guessing prices of items. You didn’t want him to fall over. It was the funniest thing! I should look it up as a memory… 😂 I actually DID climb a mountain 4 years ago. Diamond Point Mountain in West Virginia took us about an hour or so to get to the top. I knew it was diamond something… We really went there for white water rafting but our guide told us all about this mountain. Coming back down is when I first pulled that crazy hamstring muscle that still bugs me today. We get so excited going and then know that the hike down will be just as loooong… Also, not remembering where the car was parked became no fun. It’s like “Dude, Where’s my Car?”
I do hope some of you get to climb an actual mountain someday besides cliffs and small stuff. There were some pretty big ones as well out in South Dakota when we went to see Mount Rushmore. I cannot imagine climbing that! Let’s scale it back just a little. I bet all of you had a specific goal, dream, or anything similar and finally did it. I hope you have anyway. Well, I became a writer but that was never a dream in the beginning. We are always moving along that mountain. Some go faster while some a little slower, but always at your own pace. Whatever life throws at you, just keep climbing. Life’s mountain will end when we reach our place of eternal destiny but until then, climbing is what we must do. I am also reminded of the cartoon “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with his mountain in Whoville that he climbed or drove up really. He made it to the top with his dog Max hitched to a sleigh and just when all seemed lost— he got enough strength to hoist that sleigh full of toys and all above his head just like what the Ultimate Warrior did, only a little different. Perfect movie reference for this time of year, right?
How do we get the strength or stamina to keep going up all our “mountains”? It’s because we, as warriors fight through it all. Just when we think it is smooth sailing, oops~ another uphill battle is upon us. Unlike a real mountain when deciding to climb up, you need to climb back down where you began. The figurative ones just keep coming our way as we traverse another and yet another. We do need to stop and admire the view from time to time and catch our breath. Please remember to do that as even warriors need rest. Also, keep that gear bag packed with whatever will assist you as we never should go it alone. Maybe you are by yourself but that inner spirit is inside guiding you up and down life’s mountains. Your soul does know what to do despite our fears sometimes getting in the way.
No matter what size the mountain is, believe that you can and will keep going in the right direction. I will if you will. No one ever stops in the middle and gives up. It’s either up or down, you decide. Just last summer, we hiked up the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes 🐻🐻🐻 of Northern Michigan and I decided to head back. Talk about a desert! The kids’s dad went up with them as I stayed with the dog. He went further than me as they saw more but I was OK with my adventure. Unbelievable experience and a huge legend of ancient times too… It seems I have more mountain stories than I thought!
Of course I DID think of a song that mentions a mountain in the lyrics but I’m not sharing that today. It’s whatever comes and is on my playlist from a late 90s band. See, I’m more than just the 80s… 😉 Can you just imagine really standing on a precipice of a huge mountain looking down at the world below? No, I’m not going all God – like on you all here and perhaps some readers have done just that. Maybe Warrior is doing that pose similar to the photo above looking down at all of us. I never think of him being like that in an intimidating way at all although sometimes I hope he isn’t watching my goofy stuff. 😜 Ah well, we need to laugh at ourselves. I picture it being peaceful like the land he loved out west. 🙏🏻💙
So, warriors~ I hope you continue to conquer those mountains in your life whether they are for real or metaphorically. Take what you need along the way and enjoy it all. Some will be really rough with so much climbing work but once you get to the top, all worth it as you will know. Next week marks the beginning of December and my last BIG milestone of the year with these writings. You’ll have a few more weeks with me before I break to end 2022(: 🙋🏻‍♀️💜🥰
Let’s be Grateful 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹👍
The word grateful fits for this month of November here in the U.S. and Thanksgiving but really, it’s every day. Also, Veterans Day is this Friday as I knew Warrior had painted the flag logo on his chest a few times. Some may think it was because of his feud with Sgt. Slaughter which is right, but that isn’t the pic above. That video pic is the Ultimate Warrior promoting Vince’s WBF (World Bodybuilding Federation) and it’s Personal Fitness Expo of June 1991. The flag image kept coming to me so I had some searching to do.
A few years back, I did an entire post on Veterans Day which fell on Wednesday. I am grateful to ALL who served (including many family members of mine) giving our citizens the freedoms we take for granted here in the U.S. We are indebted by their service and always needing to be mindful of that when offering “thanks.”… This date however, falls on November 9 which was Warrior’s final WCW Monday Nitro appearance. I had to double check as I know he left before the end of ’98. Another Warrior moment with a date today.
So, gratitude it is. I got this idea from a few sources in a way. I was looking through my topics written on “Spirit and Belief” nostalgically as the subjects with dates are saved. The gratitude post kind of jumped out at me. I wrote that a few years ago. Sometimes I would post a topic on both blogs for the week as it seemed to connect. This one I had not but can totally relate with Warrior for sure. Let me just put this out there for all you readers today. To me, there are 2 main things we should be grateful for each day. Can you guess? I say them in meditation before anything else. Number 1 is your LIFE. Number 2 is your HEALTH. Everything else follows. Those are the catalyst for your entire purpose here. We need to do the best to take care of ourselves despite all that is happening around us. Even if you’re battling something extreme, fight for your life all the time. As warriors, it’s what we do but that free will factors in as well.
I have also made a HUGE gratitude list in one of my journals. Now, I know many of you aren’t writers and won’t do this exercise but as Warrior always said– by writing something down you’ll remember better, among other things. My list began small and grew. It can be quite easy as starting like this: “I am grateful for… ” ( fill in the blank.) I sound like a teacher but guess I am in many ways. We all have the basic list but it can become quite expansive. Go ahead and start. I’ll wait... ✍🏻🤔
OK, you non-writers. Making a list in your head works too or even saying them out loud. It might sound crazy but the more we express gratitude, the more it comes our way. Even if you don’t pray or meditate, I’m sure you are grateful and thankful for many things. They don’t have to be deep either. How about just being grateful for your dog, pizza, or a great vacation? See, not so hard now is it? You can think of your own list. Let’s all just be grateful for what we are and what we have right now in this moment.
Let’s explore the man himself. Can’t we all just be grateful for his earthly presence and eliminate judging? He did sacrifice so much and yet sometimes we let comments out that shouldn’t be. People have mentioned Warrior looking too thin at times, or not as muscular, having a flabby gut in some pics, not liking the gray hair, him being bald, aging badly by possibly neglecting his health, moving slow later on, and SO much more. Sure, I have wondered about a few of those aspects but others get me shaking ropes in my head! I have said comments (to myself) about other former Superstars but not Warrior. I am biased in areas but some I won’t fully know just like you. Those are all physical traits and as humans, we have that vanity. Myself included here as we become our own worst critic. Warrior wasn’t immune either. I have written plenty on that and can mention each of those separately but won’t. Vanity isn’t all bad. It’s how we use it which matters more.
We need to be thankful that the Ultimate Warrior and then as Warrior graced our TV sets which allowed us into the world of professional wrestling and then beyond. Those negative statements will not change anything and yet some insist on going back-and-forth about it all still. Why? For attention or discussion on his physicality? It’s not necessary and only causes much frustration our way that can’t be altered. Let it go warriors even though most may not. The good things we CAN discuss like possible feuds, ring gear, favorite looks, etc. but the negativities should end. Be grateful we have the memories and the good. The rest can be.
I know there are those who don’t or won’t make judging comments about Warrior and are so extremely grateful for his time here. Be happy for the entertainment, intense yet passionate disciplined speeches, and returning to WWE that he gave us. I am grateful for it all that I was privileged to see. Now, social media keeps it going. Practice being grateful or ask for more of it in your life. It’s stuff right in front of you. I am grateful to all of you- the readers. I’m going to end with a quote on one of my beach coasters. It reads: “start each day with a grateful heart.” I do my best as I hope you will too. I will always be grateful for everything that has been gifted my way including Warrior. It all truly is amazingly ultimate. 🥹
P. S. This is new— while walking my dog last week, I saw this parked truck from Texas. The mud-flaps said TexArkana.” Wow! Haven’t heard that in a while and remembered the U.W.F. with it’s mid-South territory…
P.P.S. To any vets reading today: “thank you for your service!” ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🦅🗽☮️
*** I am also on Twitter and YouTube..
***One more thing- this seems to happen A LOT lately but my posts are written almost a week in advance so I have no idea what if anything will get posted on those sites. If some are discussing Warrior’s life and choices he made, it is usually AFTER my ideas get written down… A few times I bashed other groups I am not part of anymore. Most guys that belong to the fb page – I do agree with on many things concerning Warrior and his life. People will always have their opinions just like me. We will always CARE and wanted him around longer… He would want us to accept it all to move forward and despite that being difficult sometimes, it is what we must do…. 🤟🏻
Do you Always Believe? 🙏🏻
Yep, I do but of course we will have doubts in everything sometimes, don’t we? Many of you know my views on those famous words signed by Warrior but it is a good question we need to ask ourselves daily. There’s so much to believe in like that song by Poison (them again!) but it’s always up to us whether to truly heed those words and put them into action.
I want to share another funny story as it just connects to cute little reminders I get. No, it isn’t over the top with an “always believe” moment but these really brighten my day so I share them. When my son had left for college, one of the to-dos was to get in his room and CLEAN. It wasn’t that bad by any means but I got permission from him of course to put away extra things still occupying space. Ya know, stuff like some toys ( a few remain), artwork on the walls, old school things, etc. He also had a very large piggy bank filled with change. I took all those coins to our grocery store and used the coin star machine. He’s getting over $60 in bills, how about that? I’m sure he’ll use the money well. That inspired my husband to get something out of our shed.
He wanted to fill in more of his Dad’s old States Quarters book. I let him sort through all the coins before I went to the store. In our shed, we have many things stored from my in-laws memories and this quarter map was a lot of fun for my father-in-law back then. It was about halfway finished years ago and nobody ever got it out again. That was something his son couldn’t wait to take from his childhood home. After all these years he decides to work on it. He filled in what he could and we are only missing two states on this U.S. map. They are Arizona and New Mexico… I just laughed as he told me to keep a lookout. Um, if I find those rare quarters, they will be mine and not put in that puzzle! 🤭😂
Sorry, but I can’t pass up those when they would connect so much with Warrior’s life. Nope. Guess it might just be the 48 states for a while. I do have an Indiana quarter with the year 2002 on it. That state and year were part of Warrior in a few ways… That story is in my book, another funny one too. I will always believe.
Belief is such a huge word and can encompass our entire lives. The most important belief of course is in yourself because without that, you have no clear purpose as your life will have little meaning and everything will be a struggle. We all have those very difficult days, times, or even years but without believing in the good, it will always be hard no matter what we do. I remember years ago when I’d be going down that “rabbit hole” of Google (which I was advised to stop doing in other ways) and wanting to find some info on Warrior’s slogan of always believe. I would have all these questions about why those words and how did they come to him? Was it intuition? Oh, my many lists I’d go over to try so hard and find the perfect answer. That’s the Virgo sign coming out for sure ♍️. He would say it was about always believing in yourself and knowing you are capable of anything. For some reason, I just couldn’t wrap my head around that and thought there needed to be more.
The truth is, there isn’t more like we think there should be. You can believe in a Higher Power (Creator, God, or any other name of your choosing) which I do as Warrior did but that Higher Power wants you to believe in yourself with all your capabilities. What exactly do you believe in and why? Is it because we are taught or is it more self discovery? For me, it’s both as I just expand my beliefs. It can also be that you know in your gut something is true without doubting. I am obviously better at that now. Your past and life experiences form those beliefs as some stay while some fade away. When I say always believe, I think of Warrior but it’s many areas in my life as well.
This is sounding more and more like one of my posts over at the other blog but it totally fits here too. Make a list of all the people, things, ideas or anything else that you always believe in and see how true they are for you. There could be some you just don’t resonate much with any more while some are new. We are always evolving and expanding and that’s OK warriors. Get rid of all those ugly thoughts with others in your mind being mad at you because you aren’t their “cup of tea” anymore. If they can’t accept the new and better you, find a new tribe. That is easier said than done but it’s all up to you. I believe in myself, a Higher Power, my family, good friends, meditation, writing, reading, fitness, laughter, and on and on— so many other things. Naturally I believe in Warrior always as we can take his messages and apply them to our life.
That T-shirt pic was an ultimate shot I saw on a YouTube video and thought it would work great to kick off this *NEW-birthday* milestone month of mine. Let’s be our OWN One Warrior Nation who will always believe despite what life throws at us. Even if it’s quarters, I will always believe. Remember it starts with YOU and then everything else will follow...
P.S. So, shortly after writing this post, later in the day I DID hear “Something to Believe in” by Poison. Thank you Warrior… 💙🎼
P.P.S. THIS just came to me too… Let’s not bring a bag of quarters to want and hit someone with!!! 😂🤣Jake Roberts had said that about seeing Warrior after all those years AND they were inducted together.., All was well though but I just laughed thinking of that and my quarter story!
Giving Second Chances 🙏🏻
*** A day early warriors since tomorrow brings a second chance for my daughter, how fitting… Please send good vibes that she passes maneuverability with those freakin’ driving cones!!! 🚙🚦ugh….
Second chances. Yeah, that’s hard for us sometimes, isn’t it? The video pic you see is actually of a first chance when the Ultimate Warrior was gearing up for his big win over Hulk Hogan at WMVI. I’m just trying out different pics, videos, or promos I have saved but Warrior does make me think of second chances. Maybe 3rd, 4th, I dunno… 🤷🏻‍♀️ The reason being is of course as years passed his many comings and goings would always make me wonder. What fans give him a second chance or even beyond? I’ve said this before but it makes me think about a lot of stuff.
Those fans still embraced the character although some weren’t too fond of the man himself behind the paint. He did do and say some things that many felt could not be deserving of a second chance but me, I’m not like that. At least not most of the time anyway. I believe in second chances but I’m talking about us that aren’t violent killers or anything similar naturally. Us regular every day humans just doing what we think is best despite naysayers and we all know Warrior was one of those. If you don’t know, you can find plenty out there.
I always gave him many chances and for a while, I’d wonder why… 🤔 Celebrities can only do so much if they are someone I’d follow where that would be it, I’m done. As time went on, I literally felt like I was wearing a bulletproof vest. Bring it on— everything will deflect. How could that be? Some beliefs of his would have to bug me right? 😬Well, some did for sure but nothing would ever be enough for me to say I was finished with him. I know those answers now but I really do give second chances, to most that is.
My dad remarried 18 years ago shortly after our son (who is at college now!) was born. Yes, I had met and known of my future stepmom as she is great for Dad. A much better match I think then my mom was for him. Siblings may disagree but I can have my opinion. Dad got a second chance at marriage as did she but some may not believe in that. It all depends on your situation in life obviously but sometimes, second chances are what we need to move on if someone gives us one. We all wanna prove ourselves right? Look at first impressions. They rarely stick although some may. We need those do overs to try again at a lesson learned from the past. Warrior got a second chance at marriage as well which brought him daughters and a happier way of life.
When would a second chance not be accepted? A toughie for sure but maybe you can think of a time right away. I know it also depends on if a person brings retribution for their actions or even if it seems repetitive. If you were in a relationship and someone cheats, would you give a second chance? These are big topics indeed so what else can be about second chances? I don’t even really know if WWE performers get a second chance after try-outs? They might not even though some would try super hard… As parents, we never give up on our kids but there does come a time where they will stumble, learn, and then get another chance to try, try again. It’s all a part of life.
Many opponents in the wrestling business might not want to give another that elusive second chance to possibly win a title again but the boss calls the shots so egos need to be put aside. There are lots of guys who do those “shoot” interviews where they say stories about their time in the ring. You’ll hear much regarding shots for a belt and chances taken on some performers. Warrior was put over a lot, I know he was and believe it or not- did became grateful. It is difficult being back in the day knowing all these chances someone would get and you’d maybe wonder why. I never knew the details of Warrior’s comings and goings back then but I do now—mostly anyway. Vince gave him a lot but he didn’t always want those multiple chances to return. Others in the wrestling world never could understand that and perhaps to this day, still don’t.
So~~~ to all you warriors reading today, do you give those second chances maybe more to all or only to some deserving? You’ll have your own answers to contemplate. Did Warrior give them out? I can’t say fully but his approach as the performer mellowed somewhat over time into the real man he became. Loyalty mattered a ton to him, that I DO know so second chances were probably not given to all that’s for sure. Trust is key as it is for me and being with a celebrity can be intimidating whether you know them personally or as a pro. The actions we take will go farther than words of just “I’m sorry.” Do better and be better as hopefully you’ll get a next time to prove it. If you are gifted a second chance, don’t squander it. Maybe you really don’t need it after all but you will know if pursuing is worth another chance. Take it or leave it, the choice is yours.
P.S. I KNEW there was a song, but of course as many have this title of “Second Chance” in them… If you know me- it’s gonna be an 80’s one and yes, it did pop into my head as they do… 38 Special had one back in 1988. I like it, look it up 😉 I was singing it for sure.. 🎤
Oh, he asked me 6 questions, go figure!! 🤣That number again..,
What’s Your Weakness?
That’s a bold question, isn’t it warriors? We all do have weaknesses but I bet you have ONE that’s probably your main event. Others may see a trait in you that could be a weakness but to you, it’s a strength. O.K., of course we need to bring Warrior in on this topic for sure. According to many, his most perceived weakness would be stubbornness which I’ve mentioned before but his opinionated nature wins the match. His stubbornness made him succeed which a previous post of a few months ago was all about. His opinions though were many which others would disagree with often. He would say those opinions made him better, not weaker. What would he list on his own as a huge weakness? Hmmm. Those who knew him best might have that answer. Possibly perfectionism is a guess of mine.
I thought of a few more for me and that perfectionism thing is a strong one for my personality too. Others may agree but perhaps my introverted nature could be their answer. I would’ve said yes to that years ago but not so much anymore. My introverted girl has learned to turn that aspect into a positive so a negative weakness becomes a strength. You can do that too. We all have areas to work on and some may never change but you can improve them somewhat in situations.
What I mean is this. I’ll use myself as an example. So, if my biggest weakness is perfectionism I won’t ever do the opposite of that but can ease up just a little. By compromising, you are showing your flexibility with anything that happens. No, not everything is gonna be perfect all the time and as I write this, it’s been a CRAZY few days!
Would you be willing to look at your weaknesses and tweak them? You’re not sacrificing your integrity at all but just evolving some. It can be tough depending on what traits are yours but we need to try. After all, we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves. Yes, I know Warrior was extreme with how he handled many things in his life but we don’t need to approach circumstances the same way. Sometimes though, we do feel the need to express ourselves despite any potential outcome. I know all of you are aware of a few weaknesses you inhabit and many have remained with you your entire life. It all depends on if you feel the need to reverse them, eliminate them, or just change them slightly.
How about something like honesty? Let’s say you frequently lie about stuff or embellish the truth at times. Can you completely switch that to being honest 💯% of the time? For most of us, the answer is probably a no. We still will tell those little white lies or maybe exaggerate to make someone else happy. Many said how Warrior was too honest and even though that sounds like a great thing, we actually don’t want that. Kids too are brutally honest about everything. It can be a negative physical description of someone which they would need to be taught better or it can be about their feelings. Is that a weakness? Well, with kids it’s different but let’s hope as adults they don’t grow up with those same attitudes.
We all have weaknesses because we’re human but it’s all in how we use them that matters. Just recognize what they are and become aware of how it makes you YOU. They may be ones you can’t change but maybe you never wanted to anyway. Whatever they are, make them work into a positive if you can. We shouldn’t totally eradicate our weaknesses to the point that we aren’t truly ourselves anymore. Warrior didn’t compromise much on his weaknesses however as a Dad, he bent them just a little. He didn’t totally abandon those possible negative attributes but used them perhaps in a different way. We all can have that tough image if we want but then have that softer side too. We need both to balance the strength and the weakness of being alive.
Whatever weaknesses or “bad” things people may claim you have, own them because that’s who we are. Nobody is perfect, honest, strong, and right all the time. We aren’t procrastinators, liars, weak, and wrong all the time either. It’s o.k. to admit when we make mistakes because we get so many chances to always try again. You can adopt a no nonsense style like Warrior if it works for you but most of us don’t. We may admire that in him because it worked but it may not for us.
We can ask for help and should when it’s truly needed. That also doesn’t make us weak since we learn all the time like I’ve said before. If today doesn’t work out, make tomorrow better. Make that weakness something to improve upon or just accept. The choice is up to you. We are all warriors fighting for our own balance everyday but don’t condone all the parts of you. Everyday is a new chance to change so take it with no regrets. That’s the true Warrior way… 💙💪🏻
The Two Anniversaries 🙋🏻‍♀️
Oh my warriors… We have come to another year of these writings as I celebrate two anniversaries. This blog was officially started 5 years ago on the 4th and my book Spirit and Belief will be 4 years old tomorrow on the 7th. I say officially for the blog since June of 2016 was when my warrior writings really started that summer in my hammock. No stats this time but I do enjoy sharing with all of you as the interest seems to keep growing. Thank you readers but especially those who were or are still fans of the Ultimate Warrior or even Warrior. Thank you also to those fans of spiritual gifts because there are still topics some feel too judged to share. I understand, believe me. Despite some detailed and emotional posts, I don’t divulge everything. Just like Warrior, we need a few things to be a mystery.
A few years back, I had posted how Mattigan Warrior ( his youngest) being 17 then was the same age I was when watching her Daddy win WMVI. I was going on 18 but still… My daughter is 15 going on 16 and that was when the Ultimate Warrior first appeared on my T.V. Never had I seen him perform as any other character except as U.W. in Nov. 1987. What a journey it has become minus some missing years in between. That was another post.
I am in awe really when I think back on all this. Sure, I still have some books in my attic that I never could sell but it was a lesson learned. Just knowing that book plus this blog have gone all over the world to many countries warms my heart. Thank you to those who have kept coming back week after week to read, maybe laugh a little, maybe cry, or just reflect on your own life along with Warrior’s. It’s like those wrestling fans who keep supporting their favorites in any way they can. You are my fans so I give you ultimate thanks. Feel free to leave me feedback on the book if you have read it, I’d so appreciate it! 😉📗
Sometimes I actually do get writer’s block which I never use to. I try to connect a photo or video with a post but that isn’t always the case. What I do with most is to either share personal stories which is my favorite way or to share Warrior’s ideas that always aren’t wrestling related. I do hope over the years you have found inspiration or even just compassion in some way. Believe it or not, I also go back and read a few because of nostalgia or even to get motivated myself. If you are new, oh boy you have some catching up to do or should I say running?! Just kidding newbies. Read at your own risk or connect with me. I’ll do my best to answer questions although some topics might be off limits for me. There always seems to be more stories to tell though.
An interesting note to add is about that shirt you see in the photo. Back then, I wanted an authentic t-shirt from the U.W. website. Before all the gear got brought to the WWE shop, I bought from ultimatewarrior.com. Never did I find a pink tank but I love this one and still wear it sometimes during a workout. You’ll find me in a YouTube video with it on and I believe a photo for one of these previous posts. The funny part is when ordering the shirt, I never noticed his image on the back. Guess I just saw the front with being warrior girl and that was enough for me. When it came, I was surprised thinking I might not have gotten it with the back printed. I KNOW that does not sound like a true fan but for lack of a better word- I always say it’s “different” for me. He’s got my back though and I love it.
It’s like getting my Warrior logo tattoo. Never would I get his face or body inked on mine. I know guys do and maybe some girls do but not sure how that would go over with my hubby. 😳😬Despite that, I couldn’t do it anyway. My stuff can be external like these stories but most are internal and emotional so it’s too overwhelming. You fans can do what you want though! Some tattoos really do capture his likeness and I am truly amazed at such creative artistry.
There, I hope you giggled at all that. Another bittersweet story concerns the book. Four years ago before I had sent it out to be published, it was Labor Day weekend here in the U.S. We were covering our pool and this monarch butterfly kept hovering by where I was. I did snap a pic as one had not stayed that long around me ever. Once a blue one came close when I was writing and that has been blogged. I always get sad as summer ends but that butterfly was so beautiful to watch. Later that day, I asked my husband to help a little with emailing the rough draft out. I had been thinking of asking him but was procrastinating. That butterfly gave me courage to go for it and they remain a great symbol to me today. Metamorphosis, change, growth, and beauty are what this process was to me. Every year now I remember that spot where the butterfly was and having the warrior spirit to make my book known to the world. They are still around but not like that afternoon.
Well warriors, “there’s your fix for now” which is from the man himself. I will continue writing as long as I see fit to do so. Whatever comes my way, I will go with the flow. That expression is everywhere for me lately and I have written all about it on my other blog. Am even reading a book about it now. Whatever milestones you encounter, celebrate them how you see fit. Channel that inner warrior spirit to keep going with what you love. I thank Warrior most of all for his continuous belief in me despite any outside naysayers. From my warrior writings to Spirit and Belief, my ultimate thanks because I will Always Believe! 💫
