Run That Race πŸπŸƒπŸ»

Here we are again warriors with topic number two I had yet to blog about until now. Running. I mean really if you followed the WWE back then, nobody ran to the ring like the Ultimate Warrior! He wasn’t running a race but that seems to be how life is these days, doesn’t it?

We are “running to the store,” or “running errands,” or even “running the kids somewhere.” Always running to something is a constant theme for people. We do need to do those things but let’s remember to slow it down just a little at times. The Ultimate Warrior didn’t slow down but Warrior himself did. Always- no. At times- yes.

Personally, I could never be a runner. Jogging I can do and have or power walking or even biking but running- not so much. No track and field, 5 or 10 K’s my way but I’ll watch for sure. Some are complete naturals with that ability or at least have a passion to pursue. My sisters were runners when they were younger and one continued into adulthood some. I even disliked running for games such as hide and seek or tag! It just isn’t for me and that’s fine. Life is a marathon, not a sprint so take time to enjoy it all along the run…

Our lives will take us in many different directions and running metaphorically will factor in. Warrior “ran” his other business ventures as many entrepreneurs need to do. We will “run” to the next stage of our lives over time but again as always, slow to catch your breath before it all goes by. Be the tortoise, not the hare. Maybe not that slow but enough to notice.

How about your life warriors? Is it difficult for you not to constantly run to the next activity or project? I do realize all our situations are entirely different and sooner or later we will need that downtime. Some may panic and think if they don’t keep that continuous cycle of running , they’ll miss out on their youth or become boring. That’s for you to figure out on your own as it is ok to be busy. Just remember to schedule rest as we all need to take it.

Running a race concretely means to get to a finish line and place. You may win, be in the middle, or be last but you finish- hopefully. Running a race figuratively means to focus more on the journey in between and not the destination. Many Ultimate Warrior fans know he used that expression and it’s true. Sure, you can say our spirit’s goal is “parts unknown” or an afterlife but it’s more your feelings and a state of mind than an actual “place” to go. That’s what I believe. A place or finish line is easier to understand though. πŸ’œπŸ™πŸ»

I hope however many races you are running that you can stay present for them all. Each one deserves your best and if you can’t give that, let some go. You aren’t quitting running but just being in those races that are truly important to you. Often times, running can become routine which some love but some need a new challenge. Runners may want music, nature, a buddy, workout gear, or a machine. Others just go without any of that stuff. You decide how those races are run and switching it up can be fun too. Of course this applies to actual running but just like events in our lives, make it interesting.

The Ultimate Warrior was criticized for running and even shaking ropes as I wrote last week. He did it to be different and exciting. Never boring. At least it never and he never was to me. All you runners out there— why do you run? I’m sure it’s not T.V. related but for so many other reasons.

We’re all runners really. Some aren’t physical runners including myself but we all have our races to run. They’re just little races that add up to bigger ones all the time. At the end of your physical “race” on Earth, I hope you can say you ran it well. Yes, obstacles and detours will block your path but it’s up to you deciding how to run and which way to go.

Run That Race warriors and make sure you are winded enough to know it matters. It doesn’t matter how you finish only that you ran it the best for your life. Slow and steady wins the race…

Shake Those Ropes!

Hi warriors! I missed writing last week but did have some personal family matters to attend with. So, am back with one of two topics that I can’t believe have never been blogged. Shaking ropes can be such a metaphor for us in life and we don’t need to literally be doing what the Ultimate Warrior did. He certainly got people’s attention though, didn’t he?πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

Often times when I’d become frustrated with something, that expression of banging my head against a wall would surface. Now, it’s more like shaking ropes instead! It doesn’t need to just apply to acts of frustration but in other ways as well. How can you shake those ropes in life? Maybe you need to change things up a bit, ever so slowly. Perhaps it’s a big change that will really shake those ropes. Start small as I’ve mentioned and go with whatever feels right.

Drive a different way to work or quit your job altogether. Your ropes, your life warriors. Big or small. We all know to leave that comfort zone and get out of the mundane once in a while. What does that look like to you? Warrior always shook those ropes in and out of the ring by staying passionate about things he pursued. I hope you can say the same. Make your ordinary extraordinary by always shaking your ropes throughout life.

Being older doesn’t have to mean complacency although we crave normalcy as we age. Challenge yourself always to learn new things that will interest you. Think about moments where you didn’t shake ropes by not taking a chance. Would you regret it? Don’t worry about what others will think if you shake those ropes just a little which then can turn big. You need to be that warrior you were born to be.

I have shaken some ropes in my life but remember they are lessons so no regrets. The Ultimate Warrior was himself so expect naysayers. They will be there but it’s up to you in how to respond. Some may call it “ruffling feathers” or “upsetting an apple cart” but whatever the label, you determine your destiny. You, not anyone else. Stand up for yourself or a cause you believe in. Make your voice count by taking action and shaking your own ropes.

I remember standing up to two former bosses about issues at work. I know it sounds like Warrior but that’s us! Some were minor things but some were not. Usually confrontation isn’t my thing but sometimes it’s necessary. Again, I broke through another myth of those believing introverts won’t speak up and act. We do and I did. Even though those bosses seemed shocked to see me– ‘ lil ol’ me fighting with them in a way, it was worth it like my post of last time.

It doesn’t just need to apply to certain people that you disagree with. Just changing simple aspects will lead to more confidence so you can take that bigger step or rope shake. There probably won’t be fireworks shooting off behind you like the Ultimate Warrior had after his WrestleMania VI win but inside your head there could be. How cool is that? It’s all the FEELS, remember? Literally we aren’t shaking ropes but always striving to be better. You may not even get attention but deep down, it’ll be for yourself anyway.

Keep shaking those ropes warriors however you can. If something isn’t for you, you’ll know it and move on. If it is, keep going until that dream, goal, or task is truly ultimate! πŸ’«

Just like me not fully noticing shaking ropes as a blog post, you may not “see” something right in front of your face until later on. Kinda like my signs from Warrior at first. πŸ’™ Whatever the situations warriors, get pumped by giving your own ropes a good shake. We all need to but do it in a way that works. Whether or not you get noticed or see fireworks, you did it. The warrior spirit will always know as you’ve answered the call of the gods.

Tag Team Teachers πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’™πŸ’™

Hey there warriors! Guess for this one it’s Randy fans too as yet again I’m sharing my own funny story about them. I decided to end this month by turning away from the serious and writing a

what if…?” scenario that kept coming back. Things have a way of doing that and if they do, it’s worth it. More on being worthy another time…

Let’s rewind first for anyone new that needs to catch up. Back in Feb. 2019, I blogged “The Blue Jay Feather Dream” and then in Aug. it was “Ultimate Maniacisms.” The feather dream involved Warrior while the U.M. dream involved Randy. Both took place at one of the preschools I used to teach at and both had those two guys as teachers, only not together. I’ll link the posts at the end but let’s just say I kept imagining a “what if…?” πŸ€”

I’m laughing just thinking of this and drained all at once. What if I taught with both of them at that school? Tag Team Teachers indeed. 😜🀣 I know I always involve all of you and this post isn’t quite like that but it is fun to imagine and just be goofy once in a while. That’s my advice! I hope I get you laughing too…

This preschool wasn’t traditional but we still taught the kids everything they needed before Kindergarten. It looked like a gym with trampolines, uneven and parallel bars, mats, a slide with scooters, ropes, ladders, and obstacle courses set up for free times. There were two classrooms with all this great stuff for kids. It truly did boost kids confidence as we did gymnastics, sports, relay races, and games. There were still quiet times, stories, free play, snack, academics and crafts so am hoping you get the idea.

Each teacher rotated being “lead” or in charge for the week and the others would sign up for activities on the lesson plan. So, can you figure out what Warrior and Randy would do? I know it’s tough if you’ve never been exposed to preschools or teaching but let’s do this together. Here’s my take… They’d work as that tag team to build an obstacle course which would be way too high and way too big!! Warrior would be getting out face paint at free time which we’d only used on special occasions like parties. He’d want the kids to have his mask on to wear home. Randy would want a themed dress-up day so he’d come with all his sequined hats, goggles, and robes for the kids to try on. Oh, the possibilities!!

They’d probably get frustrated with me correcting some of their “creative ideas” but I’d surrender and just give in while laughing hysterically!!! I can picture Warrior with a relay race line instructing the kids to RUN so fast all the way down. Hopefully, they’d remember what the real task would be and not just running! Who can picture Randy reading a book to young kids? His voice and inflection would just be incredible. He’d insert “oh yeah!” and “dig it!” just to make it authentic. I do believe kids would be on the edge of their seats listening so attentively. Just think of a classic story and hear Randy’s voice reading it. I literally got tears in my eyes from laughing! Warrior loved reading too but some of his choices might’ve been over preschoolers level of thinking. I don’t believe that age is ready to hear about the gods in Mythology quite yet…

How about snack time? It would be SLIM JIM beef sticks and TUNA from a can! Match those up fans.πŸ˜‰πŸ‘Warrior would be ultimate with the crafts but his perfectionism might slow us down. I would need other teachers for emotional support for sure with those two but what a blast! Of course we’d probably see Gorilla press slams and flying elbows being done on stuffed animals or even picking up kids. There were lots of mats around so Ms. Lead Teacher would have to step in for sure… For anyone remembering “The Blue Jay Feather Dream,” we also had station time. Those Tag Team Teachers would be great using the equipment while working more closely with the kids on various physical skills. Am sure they’d want to add their own too.

We did have a few guy teachers at this school over the years so they got its appeal despite the non-traditional approach. I have worked at both types but this one had a mix of active and quiet which would wear kids out. Adults would be too! It is needed always.

Well, there’s my scenario of what if? with the Ultimate Warrior and “Macho Man” Randy Savage as Tag Team preschool Teachers. Both finally together without a dream this time. Parents would love them too!

Winning Isn’t Everything… ( or is it?)

“It isn’t whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” Am sure all you warriors are familiar with that saying mostly told to young athletes when starting out. It’s a wonderful philosophy to have and yet sometimes winning becomes more. Winning gets equaled with competitive sports or winning acting awards but really it is about much more than that.

Yes, WWE performers and even the Ultimate Warrior make or made winning a goal as it should be but what about afterwards? I’ve mentioned attaining more but it all depends on your definition of winning. Sure, it can be a belt, title, trophy, ring, or anything similar but let’s look at winning REAL stuff. How about a great family, good friends, financial security, a comfortable home, health and happiness. Don’t those account for winning as well?

I remember watching WWF (my days then) and after someone had attained a certain status, winning became well– different. What I mean is the ol’ regular pin was discarded completely. There would be a disqualification because of interference, a count out or even double- count out but not a clean win. This was because of your level at some point and getting pinned was kinda a demotion or degrading in a way. You’d still get the win but only with a twist. Being competitive means winning but it does take on new meaning when you don’t.

In the “sport” of life, we should call them lessons and not losses or failures. Everything teaches us something but we just need to find out what that truly is. Little ones need those losses over wins at times in order to better prepare themselves as adults. Our whole lives get too caught up in always winning that we forget to live fully. Yes, wins build confidence but losses build strength. We need both equally.

Our lives are defined by many things but is always winning at the top of yours? It should be but not constantly revolving around status. Play the game but win with humility. We need to remember this in every place or even arena we find ourselves in. As parents, teachers, or coaches to young kids the concept is to show them how to have fun, right? It needs to be that over the regimented winning attitude. Kids may cry if they lose and that happens. It means they care but then the lesson comes in. Adults can get angry since our emotions change with age but what is that teaching a youngster? Am sure you all know and a warrior will strive on.

A Warrior never quits and yet some losses are harder to take than others. Yes, wrestling is scripted with its wins and losses but our admiration will always remain in the win column. These are challenging issues to face and we will all have our own points of view on them. To be part of a championship is ultimate but handling a possible loss shows true character.

All of us will face many wins and losses in our lives and we need to make sure we prepare for its entirety. Winning at life is so much more important than any material gain you will ever possess. Warrior said being a father was his greatest achievement which in turn is his greatest victory or win. Yes, losses are hard to swallow as the Warrior family has endured many. Just don’t make it a bitter pill. Be proud of them and own them as a true warrior does. Maybe the huge ones will never be your best moments, months, or years but surround yourself with the wins that matter most.

Maybe your wins will not be in the same category as others but they will be yours. So, warriors- is winning everything or not? It all depends on your life and what wins are at the top for you. My wish is that your wins will outnumber and slam the opponent of losses to the mat! Look to your losses for improvement so the wins will be more special than you ever dreamed. Winning IS everything if you live your life with humbleness in the most ultimate way.

P.S. I mentioned last week that Dana and Steve have discontinued the ultimate warrior website. I had referenced it many times before so wanted to let you fans know. Yes, it does make me sad but WE need to keep his legacy alive in the way that works and I intend to continue doing just that. I respect their decision and privacy as I hope you do too….

Grease Those Gears βš™οΈ

It’s time for double-duty on both blogs this week so gear up warriors and let’s put our machines to good use. Greasing those gears can mean so much and this topic I just ran away with. Maybe not quite like the Ultimate Warrior did back in his prime but metaphorically speaking of course! There are so many things we need to use everyday just to make them go.

Think about it for a moment. πŸ€”What do you have that needs to move with all its parts? Let’s see… our vehicles, kids toys, machines, and ourselves. It is endless. Our body is that vehicle we use everyday and its gears need to be greased. Huh? Well, if you don’t do that with other things, what happens? They will rust, wear out, and possibly break if not used often enough. That applies to all of the above listed items but let’s look at ourselves.

The body. The mind. The spirit. Yet another group of threes I seem to go back to time and again. Warrior referenced all these throughout his career in wrestling and beyond. Am sure you know these three just like I do. If not, start greasing those gears and make sure they work for you. You don’t need to be intensely physically disciplined or over exert to exhaustion but just do what feels right. Remember that intuition? πŸ’‘

Yes, many of us are aware that we don’t utilize most of our brain or body but some forget the spirit in this equation. We will get stagnant if not enough variety is incorporated into our brain, our body, and our spirit. Sure, we love routines but don’t ya think sometimes things need to be switched up some? I sure do. It is whatever you like but challenges are necessary to thrive. Yep, blogged about that too. Am sure you can think of your own examples but I’ll get you started.

If you have a fitness routine, great. If not, get one. Make it simple. Make it hard. Just do one. Learn everyday. After you’ve gained confidence and mastered some moves, machines, or weights- increase and add. This will in turn affect your mind and spirit as well. We program our minds to train our bodies, not the other way around.

Warrior said this often and it’s very true. You may be happy with constant repetition and we do need it from time to time but then boredom may win the match. Most may have thought Warrior was all about the body but in fact, he was about the mind which again influences the spirit. He was ( and still is!) a thinker first. You still want to stay true to your core values which is the authentic spirit but flexibility needs to be tagged into the ring.

The mind thinks, writes,( but of course!) creates, shares, and so much more. All of that is influenced by those gears that keep getting greased by your inner spirit. Are you keeping up with me? If not, tackle one idea at a time. Think about a body reference. When you walk, you use your arms and legs to move. I’m not saying waving them around all crazy but just regular walking or power walking for more effect. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈYou need all those parts working together in order to go. All the body takes us around and they line up in sync. Once greased or used, our gears work great. This applies to our insides along with our outsides. Fuel it well and you’ll feel well.

The same can be said of any vehicle, machine, toy, or anything else using gears or similar parts. Everything evolves over time with new inventions, modern technology, and yes- even us. Evolution is part of nature and those gears may change with age. Are you willing to keep up with change or are you gonna leave those gears to rust and wear out? Always your choice warriors.

My spiritual practices have evolved too as I do like switching it up some. There are routines we need the same but then we have the freedom to start again with something new if we want. When that happens, your spirit of intuition is calling! Answer it and get those gears going again.

It doesn’t matter what form it takes. They all need to be used in the way that keeps them running daily. Our body, mind, and spirit included always. Get your gears greased and keep going. It may not exactly be the same but at least you’re doing it YOUR way. We are more important than any car, toy, or other vehicles. Move those gears with body, mind, and spirit everyday. It all matters so make your life count because it truly does.

Change is Acceptance πŸŽ¨

We can change our physical appearance like the Ultimate Warrior did to his face with war paint but I’m talking deeper changes that need acceptance. Also- to all you ultimate fans out there, I’m not referencing the title belts that would switch waists with a win or loss. Nope, not that either. Although- WMVI did have its share of changes that defied tradition but let’s move on.

Do you handle change well warriors with acceptance or do you fight it? All of us are dealing with extreme change as a result of this worldly virus but the acceptance part is the hardest. So very frustrating indeed… We love our routines and schedules but hate when they get interrupted or changed beyond our control. It’s easy when things are going our way but then something makes us detour. Maybe it’s good, maybe it’s bad or maybe it’s just different.

Transitions make up our lives from family, careers, life choices, and all that with some being our choosing. It’s when we don’t or can’t choose which causes us to deny or accept. Warrior’s passing created change in all us fans with acceptance not even an option then. We all am sure have lost loved ones but when death is unexpected at the time, the change creates shock. That shock eventually turns into the reality of acceptance over time but never completely vanishes from our memory. Warrior himself had to accept change from his physical body to an energetically spiritual one. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’™

I have evolved spiritually these last six years with ways I never fully accepted because of change. Sure, I always did have little things but as with any type of growth, the ripples turn into waves. 🌊 Those littles became bigger and manifested for me in such a beautiful way. My emotions initially were so out of control and I fought that change constantly. Once I surrendered, the acceptance came easier.

Personally, I should be used to change. With living in Ohio, sometimes we have all four seasons in one day!!! Seriously though, how have changes in your life created a better acceptance? Some decisions are excruciatingly hard to accept but there comes a time when we need to. People may live their lives very different from us and change may be worth the risk for them. We need to accept that whether or not in agreement. Remember, respect goes a long way.

As parents, it’s all about change and acceptance. Kids grow and change and us grownups need to accept their growth as part of life. This applies to everyone really and it’s all in the way you handle it. Do I get mad over changes in my life which I can’t control? Absolutely. It’s o.k. to vent and shout and cry and scream. Just don’t live there very long. It’s a challenge letting go of how things used to be, the good ol’ days, or yesteryear. We will always have those close to our hearts but life is worth moving on to see the next chapter. You and your spirit deserve more. Others may not get that chance.

Even businesses don’t keep things the same always. You fans of WWE probably know what I’m talking about here. If any of you are part of a business or run one, am sure you’ve encountered changes that others need to accept. We even change things in our homes, yards, hairstyles, workouts, and all those other minor things. Those of course like the Ultimate Warrior’s many changes over the years are a little easier to accept. It’s the big huge life altering ones that truly test our mental resolve.

Change can also be about compromise which still keeps our hand somewhat in control. Then, there are times when it’s all or nothing. Lately, I’ve been meditating on how to best handle the word acceptance. It’s everywhere just like energy. We do need to see the positive thru the negative but our fighting spirit will resist only for so long. Acceptance brings new change ever so slowly at first. Us humans have a hard time with the negative part of that word and even Warrior did.

My wish today is for all of you to find that good acceptance beyond the change that seems bad. Without it, we will never fully find out what we are truly made of. ~~~ All ultimate GRIT!

P.S. I recently found out more about Lebron James wearing the Ultimate Warrior t-shirt. If anyone had watched some of the news conferences, he’d sport the likes of Sting, Ric Flair, and the Undertaker. His wife packed bags with wrestling shirts. The U.W. shirt was the only one left in his bag. He did say he would’ve worn it even if the Cavs lost! ~~~ So glad I found that out (: πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ€

The Deep End πŸŠπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ’¦

A night early as I have some last minute things to take care of tomorrow morning…

Music is always there for me warriors. From the beginning even until now. 🎼 The song “Shallow” sung by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the movie “A Star is Born” inspired this post today. Parts of it sum up my spiritual life and how it has evolved with Warrior. “… we’re far from the shallow now.” I am reminded of him with another lyric: “Ain’t it hard keeping it so hardcore?”

The shallow end leads to the deep end but are you willing to “swim” there too? Maybe many thought Warrior was too far off the deep end with his disciplines and beliefs but being extreme propelled him to keep swimming.

A pool metaphor is perfect as I had two growing up, my husband had one, and we are now onto our second one with the kids. How many of you jump or dive right in? Maybe you feel more comfortable taking your time perhaps dipping a toe in at first. I have done both but am more of the toe girl or having a raft to float on. We used to laugh at my Dad who’d get in the pool like he was bathing. He’d splash the water up and down his arms and chest similar to lather! That was his way of getting used to the water temperature.

Am sure those of you with pools or swimmers can understand this. I’d love swimming in an in ground pool and being capable enough to go out to the deep end. It was so freeing and grown-up even though nobody can touch in 8 or 9 feet of water. I did it because I could and wanted to but sometimes also as a dare. I was a great swimmer and always last getting out of the pool. My Mom called me the family fish. 🐠

With other aspects in life, the “deep end” can seem scary and intimidating. I was never pushed off a diving board but sometimes we seem pushed to succeed. Even babies learn to hold their breath by being dunked underwater. Staying in the shallow end is fine but then you’ll never experience all the deep end has to offer. Sure, it’s risky but life can be which we do need. Think of all the times you went in the deep end metaphorically and did it pay off? Sometimes– yes, sometimes–no. Warrior and I have both had those moments. I bet you do too if you think hard enough. Not being careless but just experiences we all have.

Even though our professional lives were very different, publishing something brought us similarities. Warrior had high expectations (I believe at the time) with his comic books and later on, they didn’t sell very well. I love mine which was blogged as “The Spiritual Warrior” 8/22/18. I had bought too many copies of my book Spirit and Belief thinking I could hand sell them. Both of us off the deep end just a little but lessons learned. Sometimes we do need to tread water while remembering to keep our head afloat.

Perhaps you love the shallow because it’s comfortable but you’ll never feel challenged and life really is the whole pool. Warrior would dive in with ideas for his character but sometimes Vince would pull him back to the shallow just a little. My evolvement with Warrior was like dipping a toe in the water because that created longevity. If I dove head first in the water back then, I surely would’ve drown. Do you feel that way?

It’s the head and heart balance always. We need both but then that gut instinct treads along too. Our passions may push us into the water but we can choose the shallow or deep end. We need those ends just how life truly is. Some may never swim to the deep and that is their choice. Will they regret it? Who knows but life shouldn’t be about regrets. Again, a balance of being comfortable and taking chances.

I’m not a huge risk taker but I do when my interests push me farther out to that deep end. After all, if nothing interests you why swim to the deepest part when everything you need is in the shallow? I find that hard to believe but really it’s the fear. It’s the fear holding you back and not the water or situation itself. You can have others teach you to swim but you’ll eventually have to take off those floaties and just go… This is true of any other metaphor you want to connect with.

You will not feel bad about swimming for that deep end even if you can’t touch the bottom. I remember trying water skiing and being the only one in our group to attempt. I wanted to do it for me and because I love water sports, not just to impress. Never mastered it and ended up falling! After choking for a few minutes ( cue slight embarrassment πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ) I did get back up and try again. Despite the outcome, I went towards a deep end while others stayed in the shallow.

Warrior was a deep end guy and not just with his character. His philosophies and introverted way of thinking I highly admire because we are the same like that. Deep end thinkers work too, not just for swimming. So, warriors the shallow or deep end? You’ll be in both but don’t fear the deep. You won’t drown if you keep swimming to the other side. Take that life preserver if you need it. Look back at the shallow and know how far you’ve gone. The water of life is waiting… “I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in…”

P.S. Remember water is essential for us. It is fluid and always moving. You need to be that way too. We all do.

30 Years of Time…πŸ•°

How about this date warriors? April 1st is a Wednesday this year which also means Happy 30th Anniversary to Wrestlemania VI on blog day! When I look back, that was more than half my lifetime ago. This post isn’t about “The Ultimate Challenge” but more about that number of 30. Here are some interesting facts about these years of time connecting to me, Warrior, and possibly all of you old enough to relate…

First, Warrior (Jim Hellwig) won Mr. Georgia back in 1984. That Junior Level Bodybuilding Competition was held in New Orleans. Flash forward 30 years later to 2014 in New Orleans AGAIN for his WWE HOF induction during WMXXX weekend. Wow… 30 connects once more. This man had so many dates in alignment, I can’t even keep up sometimes. But, yes I guess I can… Second, let’s look at some dates of mine. I BREATHE this one out a little more. Back in April of 1990, I was the same age as Mattigan Warrior is now (Warrior’s younger daughter). Technically, not in the same grade and minus a few months because of our birthdays but both 17(going on 18.) Her Daddy won that title when I was her age and it is very surreal to me. Am sure some of you are my age but for me, it’s a little more. 😊

That also means she and I are 30 years apart as I believe her mother Dana and I are the same age as well. So synchronistic on this journey. I don’t go looking for comparisons really warriors. My stories just seem to come and then line up in ways I never thought about– until now. I do have many connections with numbers and dates as numerology does play a significant role in my life. Does it for you too?

In another post of last year, I mentioned time with references to my kids. For those without kids, it can be other frames of time you reflect on. I’ve said how a memory can come back in a second and then sometimes we may have to recall a little more. Is it yesterday in your mind or does time really seem to be that long? However it is for you, make it count which I’ve also said many times. We can’t make time stop but it can slow down some. Just look at our global world right now. Maybe we do need that downtime despite setbacks temporarily.

Let’s not constantly run to that ring of life always anticipating the next and next. Sometimes, professionally we need to do that like WWE performers but get that relaxed time too. I realize we all have life choices, careers, families, and such but if your time doesn’t slow just a little, you’ll miss out on those moments that matter most. I know some who will say it won’t make a difference or we’ll rest when we retire but it doesn’t have to be like that. Just enjoy the present since those with kids understand how fast they do indeed grow up.

I’m not saying don’t socialize ever ( well, this time is different right now…) but become more mindful with your actions. Don’t be so rushed that your memories become a blur. You’ll get so burned out that important milestones or even everyday life will be hard to remember. Your thoughts will be centered among the next best thing around the corner. Take that downtime you need everyday and just be. That’s it. Of course not all day but some time for you enjoying the moment and memories it will bring.

Can you remember what your life was like 30 years ago warriors? I am soo jealous of anyone present in that Toronto Skydome!! Hopefully, most who are reading are older than that number to remember but if not, try just 10 years ago. How old were you and are you doing things you set out to do? NEVER could I have predicted this future for myself back at the age of 17. I know 30 is a big chunk of time for some but truly try with any number that has a special meaning to you. What you remember most is what counts, even if it’s a bad experience. It’s yours and hopefully you’re stronger for it. You may not have numbers and dates like me and Warrior but yours play such a big part in this life, live them well.

Sure, we can reflect easier with movies, books, videos, and photographs but it’s your heart that brings those memories to the surface. When I look back fondly on WMVI, it isn’t always the DVD or pictures I gravitate toward. It’s my mind and heart together as I hope that never ends. Last year brought many milestones and now this year brings others. It does go on. Next year, WMVII will be 30 and that will bring another. Look at what needed to happen for WM36 this year! Another milestone indeed although unexpected.

So, spend that time needed reflecting warriors and slow down sometimes. We do need to. I imagine Warrior is too in some ways as a spirit although remember– ENERGY never goes away! Believe me on this. πŸ˜‰πŸ’™ All Wrestlemania’s will have their own significant milestone memories with time just like your own lives with moments lived. Warrior says a similar statement during his Aug. 1998 WCW Nitro speech to “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan.

Would I want to be 17 again? Nah, too emotional plus there’s a movie title for that! ~~ Happy 30th Anniversary to WMVI and all the performers. Thanks for the memories of time… The Ultimate Challenge of WMVI becoming 30 this year like Warrior as a spirit now for almost 6… 30 and 6 once again…… πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ»

Never Say Never πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Yep, that’s right warriors. Never Say Never. Not to yourself or anyone else since that’s a dream killer. Warrior never said it but had it said to him. Alright, o.k., he never even liked pro wrestling at all so am sure he never thought of becoming one later in life. There were those who thought he’d never do much of anything or even succeed with his Ultimate Warrior character. He never wavered and disproved their blatant attitudes of never. I never pictured writing a blog, book, or even having a spiritual connection with Warrior at all. Things start out one way and then end up another. Consider some common “never” statements:

“I would never parent my kids that way! ( you might end up anyhow)

“I would never be intimate before marriage…” ( most are anyway)

“I am never having more than one child!” ( guess what? You may have more)

“I’m never getting another dog ever again!” ( Now, you have 2)

~~ Do you say statements like these? So many things in life start with us not wanting, saying, or doing but they might just happen anyhow.

Perhaps you even say those never statements to another. I’ve had a few said to me like:

” You’ll never get a tattoo.” ( I have 3)

“You’ll never put blond in your hair!” ( I did until recently)

“You’ll never eat avocados!” ( Yes, I do and love them)

I bet you don’t regret doing those actions that were first part of a never. It can be anything from going to an expensive restaurant, ( just NOT now, yikes…) traveling to a foreign country, ( Again, NOT now, ugh…) or even just binge watching your favorite reality show on Netflix. Fill in the blank:

“I would never…….”–Do you believe it? Most young girls or women probably think more about the big life stuff but guys– correct me if I’m wrong! Some girls will say: “I am never waiting until my thirties to start a family.” Or even: “I will never not be your best friend.” Life happens and situations are always very different. I actually said I always wanted 4 kids but now never can imagine that at all. Once I had 2 and with both being sick at birth, plans changed. Never say never comes in many ways and some we don’t even realize.

Just remember to attack and slay that never just like a warrior. Even the Ultimate one had to slay his teen nevers which then became his professional nevers said by some. We are not spiting here ( which I know sounds good) but doing it for ourselves. By doing it for YOU, it will allow your life to be free from all those never naysayers pinning you to the mat.

If you have those “never” lists, life isn’t a challenge to explore. It becomes a desperate attempt to conquer anything frantically that isn’t a never in the first place. Who says you will NEVER________. Forget it! If you say it, you will believe it. Don’t believe it or even what others are saying. Believe that you can and you will. Some goals may seem highly unattainable but it’s o.k. to keep dreaming…

When I have done some things in my life, it was me evolving and not necessarily proving someone wrong. Warrior was the same way and he wants his legion of fans to be also. It will fuel your fire to prove others wrong but always do it for YOU. I can’t say that enough. It’s like changing the word CAN’T into CAN or WON’T into will. Get rid of Never! It serves no purpose at all. Don’t use it for yourself and watch how you say words to others always.

*** I have something Extremely personal with my life that was brought into my awareness but NEVER thought it would be part of me. I laugh at it just a little but realize it’s importance and significance. It was something I kinda fought it most of the time but as it turns out, a real life changer that will forever impact and influence me. No, I’m not talking about these writings perse but just a simple word that encompasses me. It’s also not the word warrior for all you guessers… πŸ˜‰ Such an interesting turn of life events as I frequently said how I’d NEVER want this.., Did have to do some research too! Now, I treasure it like nothing else, always have and always will… πŸ’–***

So, warriors– never say never. Once you do, you’re setting yourself up for a loss and sometimes life will bite you in the A_ _! Take all those never statements and erase them from your mind. Even if someone issues you a never, fight like that warrior and clothesline it down! That never becomes a maybe and then perhaps even a YES! “Never will I” becomes “Always will I.” Just like I always believe and NEVER won’t!

P.S. I thought to use that photo of Warrior and Vince in the book “A Life Lived Forever” from RAW 4/7/14. People did caption that with “Never Say Never.” It’s way too personal for me since my brother had sent that to me right before Warrior past…. So, um– no… It is a great photo though!πŸ’™

P.P.S. PLEASE stay healthy warriors during this global virus…. WASH THOSE HANDS!!! πŸš°πŸ˜·πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

The Silver Feathers

Are you aware of #ThrowbackThursday? Well, I’m gonna switch that today to #ThrowbackWednesday because I can! My reason is this story to share that relates to three others very similar. Those were about a candle lantern, a real sign, and a feather box. All have been blogged but the candle lantern story is told in my book Spirit and Belief. Those items were bought in actual stores but that feather necklace you see on the right was bought in the Amazon store.

The Ultimate Warrior had a feather earring somewhat similar to mine but is that why I bought it? OF COURSE NOT! Several months ago, I wanted some new jewelry that reflected my spiritual life now. Sometimes it’s just bad karma I guess since most of my stuff breaks! I just blogged about karma on my other site a few days ago… I love all my jewelry and wear most frequently so probably shouldn’t anymore.

Handmade pieces are the best because of the personal craftsmanship and time involved. Many spiritual shops or fairs will sell jewelry made of crystals or delicate gems. It’s so hard to decide. I had three crystal bracelets and all fell apart! Ugh.. I still display them but decided to move onto necklaces. A few I do have use these cord ties which come loose. What’s a girl to do? Buying in person is usually my thing but Amazon seemed the way to go. My pink quartz heart necklace with the Tree of Life always gets compliments but I wanted another. Feathers popped in my head and how perfect for this journey! Check out previous posts on feathers or in my book and you’ll know why. πŸ˜‰

This silver one caught my eye which made me look no further. Yay for stronger chains and these new necklaces are working out well. Little did I know or even remember Warrior sporting an earring or two back then. I seemed to recall a stud but a feather was too far to go back in the ‘ol noggin. The Ultimate Collection DVD is now almost 6 years old and never did I notice until recently. I actually used that image in “Longevity’s Long Life” if you look suuuper closely. He did have his mask as part of it but it wasn’t until a YouTube video made me notice more. I just laughed yet again at such a silly similarity! πŸ˜‚ After all, he did send me my first feather since I always believe. Here’s the 1st video you see above:

Have you ever noticed something for the first time warriors when it’s really been there all the time? For me, it seems to be a constant that doesn’t end- even years later. Items can serve you well even if you aren’t aware at the time. It all connects to synchronicity and your life. I’ve also mentioned my past with old VHS wrestling tapes. I would never notice something for years and then see it for the first time after owning it a while. For many of you it’s a little different as am sure it is! It can be anything but I’m talking about a personal connection that means something. Not just a new outfit or haircut. We’ve all watched our favorite shows or movies over and over again. Did you notice a scene or reaction of someone in a different way? I bet you have..

Maybe someone has done something anonymously for you without your knowledge over time? You can be like me with getting signs. Do you see something many times over again that seems significant but you shrug it off? Pay attention since those signs do mean a connector to you in some way. It doesn’t have to be feathers at all. I actually see the word warrior in just about every book I read-for real! Sometimes, it doesn’t even seem to fit at all. Now, I know better since without me knowing then, it IS the right book at the time.

Here’s a quick example: We recently got rid of our old bedroom carpet and now have this beautiful new gray wood flooring with a big area rug. What if this were you but felt intimidated taking on a massive project? Over the course of a few days, you hear the song: “Magic Carpet Ride” on the radio, a store is having a huge blow-out sale on flooring, and a friend mentions this new tapestry she just bought. That’s how it works warriors. Mine was kinda like that with the silver feathers. Broken bracelets, wanting something spiritual, finding the DVD image, and the YouTube video. So many stories have lined up that way with me on this ride with Warrior and it is truly ultimate!

Try to look at something in a different way for the first time. Really observe and you might notice a new perspective. It can be silly or extremely personal. Either way, your noticing matters and connects to YOU. I love my silver feather as a I know Warrior approves! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’™

P.S. I do have a “Warrior” totem engraved on a necklace. I didn’t even know that when first picking it up at a fair years ago. It’s similar to the “Warrior” crystals I have too. The string on the necklace broke but luckily I had an extra chain (: I’m wearing that necklace in the post “Speak Your Truth Warriors” blogged 10/17/18.
