Our Bizarre Year πŸ˜¬πŸ˜³

We made it warriors. This bizarre year was indeed that for many. It will be my last post until 2021 so am wishing all of you good times however that looks. Make your own Holiday memories and just be happy. Hard to believe a little over a year ago, I was driving to take a pic of the Hellwig Whistle Stop sign to use as my first post of 2020… I’m always torn. Despite the pandemic, this year has gone fast in many ways but dragged on in others. I do hope some good has come about for those reading today.

With these writings lately, I can tell some posts have definitely been your favorites. “Back to Warrior’s Machete” wins the match as many have liked or viewed that for months. So much thanks to ALL of you for your loyalty in commenting, retweeting, or sharing your thoughts on Warrior as well. It truly does mean the world to me as I hope you are evolving while feeling inspired on this journey we all take in life.

My favorites have to be “The Little Engine That Could” stories where I have never done a part 2. So many influencers on those with YouTube videos, bios, and my own family discoveries. It’s also the post where I connected a date in Warrior’s life with mine. It is so extremely significant as I remain humbled.

Has this year made you humbled as well? I bet it has in many ways as we need that but of course all are thinking about the COVID. Many ultimate challenges we all had to face and some that are still being faced. I have been blessed but have to deal with my kids doing school differently, my husband’s work situation changing briefly, and a few other adjustments. It is so little compared to others struggles and please know my heart is with you all in spirit. πŸ’œ

Bizarre setbacks do cause us to stop and decide what our next steps should be. When that photo was taken of the Ultimate Warrior above, he was near the end of his ’92 run before the steroid trial. That made him stop and reassess his future in the WWF. Sure, he could’ve returned after the suspension but didn’t at that time. He got busy with new ideas and other creative projects. This bizarre year made us do the same or at least I hope you did.

I’m not fully comparing that time in the WWF with this global pandemic but the feeling we get is the same. Those big life changing events will make us all pause and wonder what to do next. Warrior remained positive despite that bizarre situation and we need positivity in our lives too no matter the circumstance.

Let’s make this New Year a better one in all areas of our lives. Financially, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Use this past year’s experiences to grow different in ways you never thought you could. If you experienced a personal bizarre event, try turning it into an optimistic view of something better to come. I can’t begin to understand another’s point of view but we are all in this together. Maybe not in the same boat but in LIFE together. It will take tons of work but determination gets you through those tough waters your boat needs to traverse. We are all warriors. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸš£β€β™€οΈ

If Warrior would’ve stayed in the WWF back then, he never could’ve had time to begin again in new ways. He did return 3.5 years later though. We can’t play the “what if” game but try to apply that to your life. If you have experienced a tremendous loss this year, place your faith in something brighter that will come along. I’m not being overly spiritual at all here but we need faith in many ways and especially within ourselves.

It’s one of those virtues that needs to always pull us through. Am sure you can think of your own scenario that began with a bizarre turn of events but eventually turned around. Maybe it hasn’t yet but you need to believe it will. If this didn’t happen, that wouldn’t have happened. Oh boy– can I add to this for me…

Even if you haven’t had an upsetting bizarre year in many areas, you still can plan for 2021 to bring other new adventures just waiting on the horizon. I know I will. Again, we may not always have the how or why figured out but the start of a what gets us there. What will you do different this coming year? It doesn’t have to be super complex at all or even a list of a million things. Just make it doable and one which creates that unique person you need to be. Always remember to BREATHE…

With Warrior being suspended, it forced him to start fresh in a New Year with a new way of thinking. This pandemic of 2020 forced us to think differently about things as well. Sometimes we choose to leave situations and that’s on us but being pushed out of the familiar means to keep going into those parts unknown. The rug has been pulled out from under you so now what? Do you submit or stay in the match?

The choices will remain yours as you navigate a new uncertainty. One thing will be certain though. You get to start over and begin another YOU. So many possibilities are yours, get going. I know 2021 will be ultimate despite some bizarre because I always believe in faith and grace! ( Another great word I realized this year…) πŸ˜‰πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

P. S. I’d like to personally thank those that have influenced my writing this year:

The Golden Era πŸ¦πŸŒŸπŸ’›

*** This post is a day early as I have lots going on tomorrow! ***

Ah yes, The Golden Era and the FIRST created by the ‘ol WWF in the 80’s to early 90’s. Yet another first the Ultimate Warrior was involved with. I never even knew they had “eras” until hearing people talk online or comments from my brother several years ago. Am sure you fans know but guess this wasn’t something I followed or truly cared about. The Ultimate Warrior was also part of The New Generation Era and I had heard of The Attitude Era. If you aren’t familiar with any as I don’t have them memorized, feel free to look them all up on your own. I believe the Golden Era has been the longest at 11 years. That is quite the number and spiritually speaking, it is one of the best!!!

Do you have a favorite era or Superstars from that time? Most know mine of course as I am old school but we are all entitled to our favorites and it amazes me that there are 7! Guess they weren’t created prior to 1983. Do you consider your own life with eras of time? Sure, we can start at infancy all the way into our older years. Some even say when you’re that senior citizen, it’s your “golden years.” That can be an era. Let’s think of all those words we use as expressions about life. There’s “over the hill,” “prime of your life,” “sowing your wild oats,” and so many more. What are yours?

We can reflect back or plan ahead but the best time of our lives is NOW in the present. That’s who we are. Make your own eras despite the WWE names over the years. All of us are life long learners for sure so use whatever era you are in and make it count.

Time is divided into so many categories and the actual definition has an era listed with several hundred million years! Several eras make up an eon. That would be like combining all the WWE eras into one eon… sorta. πŸ˜‚They reference this with the age of dinosaurs. I just hope all those newer or younger fans never refer to us “old timers” as dinosaurs or even the wrestlers! They may joke but I never will.

Life does go on throughout all our eras of time and it continues despite a clock ticking or a calendar reminding us of days. I am grateful for all my eras of time thus far while creating new ones everyday. I am also grateful to have been a fan of the Golden Era because that was my destiny which started such a beginning. One that I never could have imagined becoming what it is now and my connection with Warrior.

Think about how an era of time in your life influenced the person you are now. We all have those younger experiences that made us perhaps stronger, wiser, or better. You era now can be influenced by the future as well. All of Warrior’s younger professions revolved around his physical body so each era helped create the next one. He was much more than that in many ways but being creative ( as previously mentioned) paved the era for his future endeavors.

I always wanted to teach so that began as a babysitter in a way, working with young kids, my own, and now teaching once again. This era of course involves adults and some different topics but one teaching led to the next. You can list your own eras of time too. It doesn’t have to be jobs but think of relationships you have. All those life lessons learned prepare you to experience the next era of time. Then, you will perhaps make choices that reflect your age and wisdom.

Each era of life has its own title just like the WWE has with theirs. Not everyone will become a parent but we are all somebody’s child. Not everyone will be a brother or sister but we all are a friend to someone. You may divide your eras into years like most do but live them fully so you are ready for the next one.

When you reflect back someday on an era of your choosing, I hope you do so with pride. We need the good memories more. Some will say those were “the good ‘ol days” and they could be like I do with the Golden Era. Let’s try to make every era good despite what happens. You can still have your favorite time but list positive aspects from each era that make it memorable. The Golden Era of WWE will always be extra special to me and many other fans but yours will be yours. Who knows how many more they will create but just like with time, it will go on.

Whatever you name your eras warriors- live them the best you can. Your Generation of Attitude can forever have its own Golden Era to never ever forget. πŸ’œ

What’s Your Main Event?

We all have our own “main events” to wrestle with in life warriors and some will always remain part of us. Professionally as a wrestler, the Ultimate Warrior’s main events were winning those titles belts but we all know life is so much more personal. Our big moments will come and go as we live the little moments everyday. I have a question for you though…

What’s ONE thing or trait you need to work on that’s your main event? It can be linked to your career or even your private life. So many virtues have I blogged about on here but one that’s been my main event is confidence. BOOM. I don’t even need to think hard about it at all. Warrior exuded confidence but another word that connects us is trust. We both had trust issues with people. I still do. So, those two are my biggies. We all need patience so that will be for everyone but can you think of your main event word? πŸ€”

You might need to have more faith in yourself or others, maybe you need more humor in your life or even humility. It doesn’t have to be a virtue but perhaps a certain dream or goal you just can’t seem to accomplish. Am sure you have at least one area of your life that could use improvement. We all need to stay physically fit and eat healthier but is that your main event? How about limiting your scrolling thru social media many times a day?

Make a list and then narrow it down to just a few. Your ultimate challenge is to pick ONE that is the primary main event. When I was that introverted little girl, rarely did I believe anything was possible with belief. That stuff was for the extroverts like my sisters so I wouldn’t even try. It is easy when we’re doing activities we love. When I won that spelling bee in third grade, I loved it so my confidence grew. It’s when I was truly tested like speaking up to a teacher or boss was when it meant the most. Getting outside your comfort zone will do that for anyone.

All you have to do is find that one main event and then think of one way to challenge it, make it better, or eliminate it all together. Being better starts small with little ideas at a time. Maybe it’s a tag team with another. There could be someone in your life that needs help with a similar situation. You can tag each other in and win the match of your main event together. You can also be very different than someone and yet there are similarities that connect the both of you (:

Our main event can be the same but as our lives evolve, the card may switch up entirely. Confidence, trust, and of course patience will always be with me but as I’ve aged, some others are present. It’s only natural as we change careers, personal interests, and families. I never would’ve guessed writing would become my main event but the one thing I’d change about it is better ways to connect. I’m always looking for ways to help and inspire others whether it’s recognizing their own inner warrior or their own inner spirituality.

Warrior and I both share that main event of wanting to inspire people with our words. If I could choose one thing that he would always want to work on, it would have to be creativity. He truly embodied that virtue in every aspect. When pro-wrestling came into his life, it allowed his own creativity to explode unlike his other two possible careers of becoming a chiropractor or bodybuilder.

He was always searching for ways to constantly be more creative with his character which became his real main event. Even after wrestling, he still strived for creativity with his art, speaking, writing, social media, videos, his website, gym, and other projects he worked on. Casa de Warrior was also very heavily adorned with much of the creativity that showcased his carpentry skills.

Well, warriors there’s our main events so now you need to find yours. Maybe you know but maybe you’re still searching. Either way, it can be quite simple or a challenge. Little or big. Look at the main event of your life and always keep it close. It can be your friend or enemy but by doing the work however that is to you, it will be conquered and pinned to the mat!

Here’s to all of you that have that main event and grow along with it. If it’s always been in your life, how can you improve? If it’s a new event, challenge yourself to make a decision on what needs to be done. Only you can make those choices. Believe that you will make the right ones because your main event is there for an ultimate purpose. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

The Mighty Machine

We are all machines running on that energy fueling our bodies everyday. Yet sometimes, even the mightiest machines break, wear down or out, and need to be reset. We move this vehicle that is ourselves so much it becomes a rubber band stretched too thin at times. Am sure you warriors know what I mean. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Burnout happens to all of us at various stages in our lives so when is enough- enough? We don’t want to be taken for granted or become unappreciated for all that we are. I have mentioned before how many may not remember Warrior working five years or so without taking time off even during Holidays. He became fatigued and finally had that long break. Yes, there were other factors behind his absence but we shouldn’t forget his prior work which in essence was a a mighty machine.

Have you ever left a job and then down the road got asked back? If so, did you believe they missed, loved, or needed you? Perhaps they needed the clients or money you brought in or maybe also the talent pool remained small. Did you go back because you missed the work, money, or people? It can be a win-win on both ends.

Warrior had this in his wrestling career many times and although this wasn’t the case with me, similarities yet again. For me, it was about being a substitute teacher. At times, I did everything and wanted to learn. I was young and unattached and needing money. It became more than that for me though as my mighty machine was totally wearing thin.

I knew that preschool program better than anyone else at the time so it was a huge compliment knowing the boss trusted me. I thought different after a bit and didn’t want to feel taken advantage of. They could activate a sub list but assumed I had no other plans being part -time so why not? The truth is- even if I didn’t have specific plans, it would be my time for me. I shouldn’t had to lie or make up excuses just to say no. Appreciation or lack of choices remains debatable.

I know Vince loved Warrior but wrestling truly wasn’t going to be his career life choice. He wanted to prove success beyond that sport and without the big paycheck, he did. Warrior succeeded in the way he wanted but not without his share of struggles. It wasn’t always about the money and most will never see that about Warrior.

When we are younger and just starting out, our machines are ready for anything. Our morals start to step in and form a tag team with this machine of ours. It’s great at first like it was for me but then we think a new way and realize it should be different. My preschool never had an aide before so I was treated like royalty but expected to do much. I loved it all with very little pay. It made no difference for such a long time because I was learning in a field that was a passion.

My personality tends to do much for others and while good, we must not forget our own worth. Once I found my voice, that machine of mine changed direction. I spoke up, shocked them, and my mightiness switched gears.

I do realize many of you swallow that pride probably more often then you’d like and accept your constant running machine. We need those external things for our livelihood and may not have a choice despite morality wanting to tag in. Just don’t let your machine get too worn out that it can’t be repaired.

We will always have certain obligations, duties, or lessons to learn but try to balance that yin and yang like I preach always. Don’t get to the point where your rubber band will break and cause destruction. The mighty machine you get to use in this lifetime needs to be cared for, cleaned, shined, turned off, and just left alone for a while.

There will always be choices we are faced with all the time and sacrifices every day. Use your mighty machine in the best way for you. It might not be what someone else will do but just honor the decisions that can serve the machine of your life. You only have one so don’t let it rust too much where it becomes unrecognizable.

If it needs a change, do it. If it needs a voice, find it. If it needs a break, shut it down and rest. Your mighty machine will be there for you but you also need to be there for it. Whatever your situation, listen to your own mighty machine and keep it working always. It will serve you well warriors if you allow it to. 🦾

Your Powerful Purpose

Do you know your purpose warriors? It just might not be what you’re thinking as most will probably equate purpose with a profession. Sure, it can be that partially but really- it’s so much more. It isn’t necessarily your titles in life either but the CORE of who or what you are.

That smiling man above knew his purpose and kept striving for that- always. Self belief became his purpose that propelled him to study the chiropractic field, bodybuilding, and then pro-wrestling. He also added becoming a true husband, father, artist, writer, speaker, and entrepreneur while still knowing his purpose. You can have multiple purposes but there will be one that does stick out most.

Think about your life for a moment. Underneath all the layers of what you do, can you identify with a genuine purpose? As kids, it’s so simple since we move towards independence from parents to siblings and then friends. We often tell our children that their purpose is to go to school without elaborating. That is true but as they age, purpose will come into their life more. It then becomes career driven from college and beyond. The question to ask yourself is WHY you do what you do. I sure hope your answer is more than just liking the job.

Expand your thinking like a warrior can. This is also a topic on my other blog Spirit and Belief. You need the why behind your purpose.

If you’re stuck- here’s a tip. Just do what you love or enjoy and that purpose will find you. You will know with the feelings behind your actions. It’s all about your feelings towards something. I always wanted to teach young kids and did but now find myself teaching adults in a different way. It found me by indirect acts of my own. Think about a “main event” message you want to passionately share with others. Mine became about intuition and busting myths based on my experiences. Quite the powerful purpose and one that brought about ways I could connect like this blog, YouTube videos, my other site, and book.

Even if you’re in a career you love, think of how to do more than just the job. Do you motivate with a powerful work ethic or ways of relating? Do others reciprocate? Warrior’s self belief methods were not for everyone considering his intensity behind them but you need to look further. He never wavered from his powerful purpose while encouraging others to find theirs.

One can say he was a performer or entertainer but then there’s the why again. No, wrestling wasn’t his first career choice but his purpose always was the same. Some might add other ideas to his message but belief was his ally more than another.

It shouldn’t have to be a struggle like many make it out to be. I realize some are forced into situations or even guilted into societal rules. Once you have a passion like I’ve said before, your purpose will come forth. We can say everyone’s purpose in life is to just be happy and that is true. We all have gifts though and yours need to be used in this great time you are given.

My passion ( or at least a biggie!) is of course writing but the purpose is to educate or inspire others recognizing signs along their journey. It is similar to Warrior’s after all as is my mission to carry his legacy forward.

Your powerful purpose isn’t just defined by what you do but the voice behind it. Every action you take, every thought, word, or anything with genuine intent becomes your purpose. If you go searching, you’ll become frustrated and filled with anxiety. Some may never know or some may just be content with simple things and realize that’s their purpose.

We all don’t need to be the Ultimate Warrior and there was only one him anyway. Our lives can take many different turns but look to the REAL you and what you want to put out there. Your powerful purpose will come. It may not be until later in life as maybe family dynamics change but you’ll be guided with activities you love doing.

Warrior always knew his purpose and stuck with it throughout his lifetime. As a spirit, he’s still all about belief and wants that message brought to life thru his warriors. Be happy with your powerful purpose because your CORE is truly ultimate! πŸ’«πŸ’œ

Looks and Locks πŸ€·πŸ»πŸ’

Are you aging gracefully or are you fighting it? Most like myself probably do both. Some things we accept but then some, well- we aren’t quite ready for. I found that video pic of Warrior in a hotel room courtesy of Andrew William Wright once again. Yes, I realize most prefer Ultimate Warrior photos and there’s always plenty of those but mixing it up is what I do! Warrior would attest to looks and locks for sure but being a celebrity means that microscope is constantly on you.

His looks changed somewhat over the years as U.W. but those locks never fully left until his girls were young. Some guys of WWE fame have kept their locks intact while maybe letting the color change. For women, it’s a different story but vanity connects us all. They want to keep that image fans recognize. Their outward appearance became such a part of them and yet they might find it hard letting go.

Are you insecure about letting change happen to you physically? I’ve mentioned this a little before but never regarding aging. Age has that way of sneaking up behind us while putting a sleeper hold across our head and neck! Do we submit or fight back? When younger, we can’t wait to get older but when older, we crave that youth. We want the younger skin, no gray hair, no reading glasses, and the like. Those that embrace aging- I applaud you. I don’t try and hide every wrinkle or fit into skinny jeans anymore. I still have my hair colored just a little and that moisturizer needs to be applied. You won’t find me getting botox, a facelift, or any injections ever. Fame influences that though.

We do change as we age, that’s a fact. Yes, I still workout but not as much cardio as even a few years ago. Hormones are telling me- nope, not gonna happen so I am listening. It upsets me but I am active in other ways just with more naps. It’s similar to a change in diet. We all know to eat healthier as time goes by.

Sometimes we give up younger looks of the past anyway. Warrior did and I was glad. Did fans really think he’d still have the long hair or exact same body at 50? Maybe so since he still worked his body hard but I knew he wouldn’t look the same. He felt it was time to move on to a new phase of his life and one never filled with regrets. Was that selfish to not think of being automatically recognized much? No, not at all. He felt personally despite others in the business that it was the right time to move on from younger ways. Some things or ideas are so easy to say: “See ya!” to but others we become attached with and it is difficult parting ways.

What is one thing- either a physicality, relationship, concept, or younger idea do you find hard giving up? It doesn’t have to be looks or locks but how about an outfit from decades ago you can’t donate. Maybe you have the first car you ever owned and it still runs. You barely drive it but can’t seem to sell it. Why? We do like to hold onto things but as warriors- we must move on to newer and better. I’m not saying give everything away or keep it all either but getting that balance is what wins the match. I’m guilty too, believe me!

Some stuff we are forced to change like when flat screens came out or music cassette tapes switched to CD’s. That’s exactly what Warrior was talking about on the video pic of him above. We do need to ask the question of why change happens. Is it for you or others? You might just try something new but maybe you want to please others. Sometimes we don’t even have a choice. With celebrities, it becomes tricky because they may need to make a change but don’t want to disappoint fans. The Ultimate Warrior character was able to alter some physical traits and fans still loved it all. Years later, he changed more dramatically of course. I’ve always wondered if he stayed in the business would the look be the same or change over time and age? Hmmm, I do wonder. πŸ€”

Looks, locks, and everything in between that we may switch up or perhaps don’t much at all. We know our flaws and try so hard covering them up but for how long? This is true for all of us- men and women and you will know your traits right away. We do need to age gracefully but it is ok to still have some vanity. After all, we are human and like what we like.

It can be our faces, bodies, clothes, hair, or anything that might mean moving on from. It’s up to you with how you age but just be happy. It’s your life so you get to decide. Fight like that warrior but then know when to put aside your sword to acceptance. βš”οΈ

Veteran’s Day Thanks πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ( and 200 πŸ’™)

Veteran’s Day falls on Wednesday of 2020 this year so that inspired me to write about this National Day of Remembrance here in the U.S.A. Another side note is that today also marks the 200th post of these writings. I never count random “tests” WordPress reminds me of from the past. I count the actual ideas that get written so this post of Veteran’s Day becomes number 200. Warrior would be proud and IS!

I salute and honor every veteran who has served in our country’s armed forces. I have many family members dedicated to protecting the freedoms we cherish. It is indeed such an ultimate sacrifice putting one’s life at risk while defending our flag and all it stands for. My own brother proudly served in both the Navy and Coast Guard. Two of his daughters while still in high school are part of the ROTC as are two second cousins of mine. They both have Army Vets as parents. Two of my cousins husbands served in the military and one had his two sons serving as well. Two seems to be the number in my family (: My ex-brother-in-law is still with the Marines in some capacity while my deceased father-in-law enlisted in the Air National Guard during his younger days.

Not all will put their lives on the line like a soldier but they still contribute in many ways. Both Warrior and his wife Dana supported our military vets and championed their dedication to our country. WWE has done much over the years in organizations alongside our war heroes and continue doing so. Dana as an Ambassador traveled all over the country representing the WWE while raising awareness for Veterans causes. Warrior proudly displayed a flag in their family home while Dana continued teaching their girls about respect for our country’s heroes. Not only would they thank them for humbled service but buy meals around their hometown. Schools over here have Veteran’s Day ceremonies as decorations adorn the hallways. Our city usually has a service as well.

I can sorta compare the military to wrestling. Give me a chance for a brief moment here. They both involve travel, possible combat, and one needs to become very disciplined to achieve status. Also, when both retire, they are called veterans. Both also see the word hero used in their presence but we all know the true heroes are our veterans of the military. I have known or know people in every branch of the military whether it be the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. Not to forget the Reserves…

Think of all the wars our great country has faced. Let’s hope there aren’t any more in our nation’s future. Think also about all those brave men and women willing to stand up against an enemy just to protect us. The numbers are staggering. The first war where women were in combat was the Gulf War of 1991. Prior to that, they were just nurses serving the wounded or dying but not physically on the battleground with the men. That actually brings me to another commonality with wrestling. We all know how far women have come in sports entertainment. Women in the military have also made great accomplishments while serving next to the men in battle.

Some confuse this day with Memorial Day. That is when we remember those lives lost during war but Veteran’s honors those that have served while still living. If you know of someone, ask to hear their stories. Especially an older vet who will take you back in time to their younger years of great service. Just like my post of last week, that heart of humility cannot be replaced. Thanking them doesn’t seem to be enough.

Whatever branch of military you favor, they all serve the same purpose of protecting our land, seas, air, and freedom. Gone are the days of the draft but there will still be naysayers against what the military stands for. No, I don’t condone war and possible lives lost but we do need to protect our borders when needed.

Most of us will think of this day as any other. It will come and go just like a typical Wednesday. Perhaps this Veteran’s Day of November 11, 2020, you can make it a little more memorable. Thank any vets in your life separately. Pray for them, thank them for service and our freedom, or just reflect on what it means to live in a FREE country. Many others don’t have all that we take for granted here. We have those rights and privileges because of our United States veterans that proudly fought for them.

*** Remember, Honor, Salute, and THANK ALL Veterans and those to come for being so BRAVE as an American.

“… with Liberty and Justice for all.”

P.S. Today is 11-11, such powerful numbers. This post is dedicated to all those vets who have been severely injured or affected in many ways by their years of service. We are forever in your gratitude as thoughts and prayers are sent to you always. πŸ™πŸ»Thank you to all those ultimate survivors!

The Heart Of Humility

Do you live your life with the virtue of humility? It’s defined along with a feeling of unworthiness which sounds kinda bad. I wrote about knowing your worth but not forgetting what it means to be humble and stay that way. Sometimes that can be especially difficult considering our lifestyles, professions, or family dynamics. My humility has always been there which enabled spiritual signs to manifest. It’s a tricky area for sure but I mention it often in my book Spirit and Belief.

I know many naysayers will think Warrior was not a humble guy or at least when he was in the business of wrestling. Deep down, he genuinely was but didn’t show it very often considering the character he portrayed for years. Being humble could mean vulnerability or a weakness and we can’t have that in a sport, can we? Warrior knew his humble roots but success has a way of pushing humility aside for a bit. It’s once you step away for a while and gain a new perspective that humility returns to your heart.

For me, I sometimes struggle with too much humility. Many times I felt unworthy of a relationship, success with my writing, or even motherhood. I finally changed my attitude and got back on track with better thinking.

How do you handle humility warriors? Is it easy for you to remain that way or are there times when too much gets you a big ego? I think it’s both for all of us. By being grateful everyday, your humility will stay intact. Make a gratitude list and read it out loud. Repeat it over and over. Once that becomes a practice, your heart will glow with humility and it’ll take you far.

Even though many of us have careers that can be very competitive, always stay humble. Don’t do every favor, errand, or coffee run and become a doormat. DO fight for yourself but do it with pride. I included this shot of Warrior signing autographs since never did I before and it shows such a different side of him. He was humble with these fans while remembering and listening to them. Great YouTube videos by Andrew William Wright from the 2005 London Expo. So glad to have found these and I thank him for keeping them active.

Once you look back on an area of your life and how you were then, does humility come to mind? Without humbleness we think way too much of ourselves and then expect everything all the time. What happens is we either boast about being better or don’t think of ourselves very highly at all. We need that scale balanced always. If we do too much, we’re arrogant or self-centered. If we do too little, we are not noticed or weak.

The balance looks different for all but YOU need to examine which areas need more heart and humility. It was very hard for Warrior considering his introverted and seemingly “distant” behavior. I truly believe he didn’t want his feelings exposed because of past hurts. I get it as am sure some do as well. I’m not defending every action he took but again, perspective happens when we move on and begin a new era of our life. That’s exactly what Warrior did. We all need to step back or away and return to humility.

Humbleness has its own yin and yang pull on us but keep that rope in the middle. You can be the most extroverted, intense, cutthroat business person ever but also allow for others to enjoy the spotlight too. You can be the most introverted, quiet, giving the shirt off your back kind of person ever but remember you deserve greatness too.

Keep your own heart of humility with whatever path your life takes you. No doubt it’s gonna be rough depending on which road you travel on. Maybe your humble nature disappears but then it comes back. Maybe it needs to be amped up or perhaps turned down. Wherever your level of humility is at, keep it close and never abandon it.

Be humble yet own your self-respect as a balancing act. The heart of humility is indeed a wonderful virtue to possess so be thankful every single day. Your humbleness will be ultimate if you give your whole heart just like a true warrior. ❀️

Desire to Inspire βš‘οΈπŸ’«

When thinking of this week’s title πŸ€”, I was reminded of a mantra from my journal in June. “Desire to Inspire” has a great bell ring (ding, ding, ding…) doesn’t it? You have to believe it though… Warrior said over and over again how he truly wanted to inspire, motivate, and educate others. He continued searching for ways to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Isn’t that what we all should do too?

Whether one liked or disliked the Ultimate Warrior character, he did become quite the inspiration for so many with his confidence, discipline, and beliefs. We need to look at the WHY of inspiration. Like I’ve said before, you look for inspiration but be that for others as well. Most won’t flock to T.V. as a way for inspiration but we can notice those little things everyday.

Three people have stood out for me personally as being inspirational lately. It’s not always our words but also actions and a desire for the good. Earlier this year, two inspiring souls reached out to me through my website and email. I will keep their names private but they contacted me personally as we shared common interests.

I had a phone conversation with this woman about celebrities or famous people in spirit. We bonded over our experiences while offering advice. She also read my book Spirit and Belief and loved the stories! We both especially referenced The Mysterious Batteries. πŸ˜‰ She truly was an inspiration having enough guts reaching out to a stranger. We had many similarities yet differences which connected our beliefs and abilities.

The second connection was from someone who is a bodybuilder and found a few of Warrior’s YouTube videos. He had no idea that man was the same person he idolized as a child back in the WWF days. He shared details while complementing Warrior on being HIS inspiration. Both people thanked me for being the voice they are intimidated to be on their own. We all have that desire to inspire and it’s a wonderful gift expressing however it suits you.

There are so many ways to look at inspiration. It’s all communication in any form. The Ultimate Warrior had his loud, intense way but perhaps that approach isn’t quite you. Writing works for me but again, your choice.

Face to face discussions are the best of course but that might be difficult for some. Do you work best with phone calls, email, text, or other social media outlets? I love making YouTube videos but that can be a challenge at times. The desire needs to be there. We also need to practice listening with inspiration as that is a two-way street. Even though both of those individuals I had not met, I listened and then responded humbly. They both contacted me so the desire became about respect along with that inspiration.

The third person was a totally different experience. My husband was in the process of selling his mother’s home near her passing and took this big task on. After a time of some interest, he was contacted by a mutual friend thru Facebook. His brothers and he were struggling and I just sent out an S.O.S. to the Universe for patience and guidance. Lo and behold, it delivered.

This man we found out later is indeed a Joe of all trades. His name is Joe and besides being a realtor, had done many other jobs. When carpet got wet, he replaced it for a smaller fee than a company and even went above and beyond to help these boys out. His own brothers knew my husband in high school so there was a connection…

Here’s the part some of you will love. He used to be a pro-wrestler!!! I did get to meet him as those goose bumps filled my arms and legs. Hello Warrior. πŸ’™ Joe was in the NWA and wrestled under the name Vladimir Markov. Yep, they made him Russian! Look him up for more info… Pretty cool, huh? He knew of the Ultimate Warrior and many other names I mentioned. My husband told him how I talked with Dana Warrior on her podcast! It was so thrilling(: Later on, my husband said how Joe was a Godsend as I KNOW someone up there likes us and sent help. πŸ™πŸ» Joe was such an inspiration helping out without huge demands and being so understanding with our needs.

My three count again even without Warrior on this list. Desire to Inspire and look to the real reasons of intent.

Be a voice but encourage another to use theirs.

Get noticed but notice others as well.

Maybe you yell, email, or sell houses but whatever your task, just have true desire. The inspiration will come. Find your WHY always…

P.S. A few of Warrior’s YouTube videos are called: “Injections of Inspiration.” How about that?

The Realness of Rivalries

Last week was all about friends so this week is sorta going in the opposite direction. Not necessarily enemies but rivalries with others is today’s focus. That “realness” is again scripted among WWE performers but just like with friends, the dislike may remain. We all have those rivalries with many people but it’s how we face them that matters.

The excitement and drama of pro-wrestling keeps us glued to our seats and we love all those feuding rivalries. It’s not that way with real life “storylines” as we aren’t drop kicking or slamming someone to the mat! I hope you are not.

Whatever comes up in your relationships, do you keep that rivalry or after a time dismiss it? If Joe wants to put his Christmas lights up in October, does that start a rivalry with you or not? I guess it depends as some have healthy rivalries that are all in good fun. Ya know, like an annual neighborhood party. Some may also just have a rivalry for a brief time like the Ultimate Warrior had with many but then they move on.

Perhaps some rivalries even turn into those friendships of last week. We need to look at the realness of them all. Siblings can be rivals and yes, that is very real. How many of you have that as a rivalry? I didn’t really but it all does get into competition which was another post. Rivalries are everywhere and connect us all. What about that annoying co-worker who seems to have everything going their way while you struggle getting ahead?

Sometimes a rivalry is just about one area of our lives, it gets resolved and then new ones begin. We may have life long friendships based on rivalries but then need to decide if they are worth keeping. Case in point- politics. I will never get political on here but I bet many of you have someone who won’t ever agree with your politics. You are friends but that rivalry of disagreement is real. Would you let your points of view destroy the friendship or would you work to save it? This is tough for all of us but it’s again always a choice. The friendship or the rivalry needs to be decided.

Let’s go back to wrestling for a moment. That photo is the Ultimate Warrior of course giving a promo behind a steel cage. This was for his upcoming SummerSlam match with Ravishing Rick Rude. Yeah, the pics are all about S.S. lately! Their rivalry went on for quite a while. Even though performances are fake, it’s very real emotionally for fans. We get just as absorbed watching as they do acting. The rivalry is real for that time we are involved and following.

Some rivalries will always remain with us like possibly family members where memories can surface. We may also have that work relationship that will be a constant rivalry until someone leaves the business. There are times when a rivalry is brewing without your knowledge. Jealousy can come about or back-stabbing and we are oblivious to the whole thing.

I know there were or perhaps are some WWE rivalries that start out as scripted but then each may really dislike the other. They may never be friends. Most wanted the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan to be friends but they really weren’t that close. Being good guys meant you weren’t competing against each other, just for fans. Vince McMahon did call them both “consummate professionals” despite their rivalry. They did of course become rivals just once but still not true friends. It wasn’t what everyone wanted but true rivals-no. There are those who live for drama of a rivalry and lose touch with reality if there isn’t one.

So, is it friends or rivals for all of you? Relationships are always a mystery and we go thru many stages of both. Just spend time truly realizing which rivalries are real to you and which are not. Little issues can lead to bigger ones but think about if you really want or need this person in your life. Unlike the stories of pro-wrestling, our true lives are the ones that genuinely matter most.

Take time with this topic warriors and decide if a rivalry is worth putting your gear on for or quite possibly not. It’s your decision to see them all thru. Your life IS real so decide if those rivalries are indeed as well. You don’t need to be behind a steel cage but just battle that rivalry like the warrior YOU are. Keep what matters. Slam what doesn’t! ✊🏻πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
