Preach Your Speech! 🗣🎤

I gotta say that this never used to be me. Boy, is it now! When I share my journey, book Spirit and Belief, these writings or anything else I’m passionate about, it gets preached- well. I am still in awe of how I LOVE speaking on my topics and can all day– but that wouldn’t be fair. My most favorite events are ones I get an opportunity to speak at while inviting others to do the same.

Warrior liked to talk passionately also about his beliefs and did so often. He even dabbled in conservative politics for a bit. Always very opinionated and controversial but he preached his speech that’s for sure. Did I always agree-/ nope but speaking to groups takes GUTS– a lot of them. I know he needed to get back to his roots of preaching self-belief and disciplines while trying to always motivate others. Never, never, never did I imagine myself speaking to groups, albeit small ones interested in my passions. I love it and have very little nerves at all. Oh, how I have evolved.

In first grade, we had to give a report on our “patron saint” if you had one. Yeah, Catholic school. Getting dressed up, reading off note cards in front of the class, you know it– the whole nine yards. Can you say scared out of my mind at age six? But, I did it and it went well. The next memory is fourth grade when I was a bird in the play “Peter and the Wolf.” OK, so I only “tweeted” while flapping my arms on top of a box but still! Performing while people are looking at ya– that counts! Hmm, sounds like a pro wrestler, hehe! 😜 Also, another one in fourth was a report on a famous person where you signed the chalkboard as a “Mystery Guest.” I was Marie Curie. Loved her. I even got a book on her as well!

That takes us to I believe sixth grade when I gave two “special interest” talks. Those were fun. No, they really were! My first talk was on dolphins (one of my faves!) and my second was on the Space Shuttle. Lucky for me my Dad worked for NASA. They had to be TEN minutes and back then with peers, that seemed like an eternity! Now, not so much…. I always practiced since everyone should– even adults. Seventh grade was a poem but this boy in front kept kicking the podium making me nervous! Hey, there’s seventh grade again. Ninth brought speech class which was a requirement on a stage and then eleventh was an elective course I wanted to take. It was Oral Communications and I must say every time, I got better and better.

It also helps to have a good teacher. Whoever it is, that person makes a difference and will help boost your confidence. You can bet on that. Warrior has and is STILL doing that for me. This was yet another area that I wanted to share as he preached his beliefs just like I am doing today. However it works for you, use it to your advantage. I love making YouTube videos or there’s Facebook live. How about a podcast? Heck, I got to do a radio interview. Can you imagine being on T.V.? I know this isn’t feasible for all but try some opportunities if you can.

College didn’t really bring that many speeches but just a few presentations pertaining to Early Childhood Education which was my profession then. That led to great parent-teacher conferences in the future and then well, the rest is history. We all should remember great speeches but also have our own. There was a reason Warrior wanted people to never forget his insane promos! Nobody has either. At least people who are true fans.

This can all be very daunting but childhood requirements may bring adult choices you actually want to do. It also can lead your life in a completely different direction you’d never thought to go.

Whose speeches inspire you? Maybe it’s even someone you know. I just remembered some PTA talks I gave when chairing a few committees. It’s OK to be nervous since that means you care. Warrior said that and it’s true. If your opinion needs to be heard, tell it. Tell it well. If you want to share an interest, idea, or just want to get something going like~~~ I dunno~~ a Book Talk, go for it! Even if you have a few people, it’s better than nobody and at least you tried something new and different.

Your speech just might make a difference just like others have for you. Warrior did for me and now Dana is. She never envisioned herself speaking as a WWE Ambassador while presenting an award every year or even talking to groups about their activities. Once that little kid voice in you comes out, it’s always there. You know you’ll have to give some speeches later in life so just keep practicing while getting better all the time. Even disciplining your kids counts~~ in a positive way!

Preach your speeches warriors and speak them well. Your voice matters. Warrior’s does. Dana’s does. Mine does too. Talk the talk, someone is listening even if you don’t know it yet.

P. S. I also won a spelling bee in third grade against a boy who was super nice! I could’ve lost on purpose but kept going.., I spelled those words (still preaching sorta) and did it well! 🐝

Kid Warrior-isms

Kids do indeed say the darndest things. These fun stories popped in my head as I remembered this date of November 14 and my Toys R Us connection. So sad how those stores closed but grateful my kids enjoyed memories… 🥺 I even had a personal one with Warrior blogged about and also in my book Spirit and Belief. I’ll get to the photo above in a bit..,, Too funny!

So, onto my kids and these sillies that didn’t make it into the book. LOVED writing them all down so I wouldn’t forget and then another one came into memory. I’ll share the ones that REALLY got to me and some more than others.

Remember, most of these occurred shortly after Warrior’s passing and ALL made me laugh. Kids are messengers too and I do believe Warrior sent his energy to them. Way too many to doubt. What to start with? Well, my daughter had much more in her than my son and she is a Gemini like Warrior (remember last week’s post?) Warrior has two daughters so who knows?

She is quite the character herself and not long after Warrior was gone, she started thumping her chest and doing a similar snarl out of the blue. I KNOW– crazy!! I asked her so many times as to why and all she would say is: “Because it’s funny!” It was a brief time but I remembered.

When I was watching the 25th anniversary of WMVI in 2015, my daughter came into the room. It always falls on Spring Break so the kids are home from school then. I fully expected some unusual comments as I had never watched this in front of anyone. I was ready– bring it on girlie! After a few minutes, she asked: “Who’s the old guy with the mustache?” I could’ve answered another way but nicely I said: “Neither of them are old, he just looks that way.” I then was ready yet again for another comment but she didn’t say anything about Warrior. I did tell her how Mommy likes the other guy while chuckling to myself about the “old guy.”

Another time she was on the couch playing with her dolls and then I heard her say in the EXACT way Brother Love did: “I LOOOVE YOU!” (insert accent, he was a spoof of the 80’s televangelists, aka Jim Baker) I couldn’t believe that voice was coming out of her. When I asked about it, she just sorta denied the whole thing and laughed….

Oh this girl. Another funny (some are wrestling related and not necessarily Warrior) was when we attended her Literacy Night together at the elementary school. We were in the cafeteria and they were showing a power point on labeling a diagram. The picture was a gorilla and I whispered while elbowing her: “Hey, it’s your soccer team name!” She looked so confused and scoffed saying: “Um, no–we were the Monsoons, not the Gorillas!” I just started laughing so incredibly hard, she did too and we almost fell off our chairs! People were looking and we pretended to notice something outside. I’m laughing now, such bonding and we weren’t home for this one! Gorilla Monsoon was with the WWE back in the day….

I’ll move on to my son and a few of his moments that made the cut. A few times this happened and it wasn’t wrestling related but very Warrior related. Here’s the photo story….

My boy would just walk into the room where I was sitting and sing: “Firepower!” Whaaaaat??? He’d keep walking like no big deal. Was I imagining? It was inquisition time for sure. The poor kid got so annoyed with Mom’s constant questions! It went something like this:

“Why are you saying that?”

“Where do you know it from?”

“Are kids saying it?”

“Is it in a new video game?”

“Did something go on in school, the bus, a cartoon?”

You name it, I asked it. Finally, he said it would pop in his head and he just knows it. That’s all I ever got out of him and had to accept his answer. Sure, kids say things but this expression was NOT my kid and if he had a logical answer, he’d tell me. For all you confused out there, Firepower was the name of a movie Warrior starred in 1993 in which he was a bad guy named the Swordsman. That photo is of him on the set.

It was just the WAY my son said it in a loud voice and then leaving.., bizarre, funny, and yet totally made me amazed.

He also had this water gun called “Warrior Web Ultimate Outlaws” (I think that was it) and hard to believe both words on that. Ah, kids toys. It was always very temperamental and I seemed to be the only one who could get it to work. Kinda ironic, isn’t it?

Both kids would sing: “Macho Man” randomly sometimes around the house while walking around or playing. I might’ve egged them on a bit after playing my Disco 70’s CD one day but this continued for months! I have always loved the Warrior and Randy moments and the Ultimate Maniacs~~ great date today! More are in my book…

The word “ultimate” seemed to appear in both kids vocabulary and believe me when I say they NEVER ever used that word before and now rarely do. For my girl, it was a “grand finale” jumping off the swing set as the “ultimate” ending. For my boy, he used it to describe the biggest water balloon he was saving for last. He threw it at the garage while shouting: “the Ultimate!” It burst everywhere as he ran away inside. I was left to pick up the pieces. What a funny little twist of fate that was but it’s all good.

There you have it. My kids and their weird yet comical behavior mostly being in the spring and summer of 2014. If you knew them, you’d know their vocabulary or behavior. This stuff was not that at all. My girl has more little sillies but these experiences left me wondering and yet without feeling naive, I believed.

They might not sound funny to you but they were to me as I still laugh today!!! Kids REALLY do say the darndest things but they act the darndest too. Look for those constant signs and you’ll be a believer too. After all, kids are honest (well, most of the time) and Warrior’s beliefs revolve around honesty. They were funny and Warrior IS funny! That too, I will always believe…

Virgo and Gemini, I Get It

As you can see warriors, this post is about these crazy birth signs of ours so am referencing those gentlemen in the photo. Vince McMahon was always off-limits for me as I am not examining his relationship with Warrior or any other business related professionals. I am however, going to share my involvement in this as it always connects to me.

Have you ever read your daily horoscope? Not horror– for all you skeptics! Have you ever read up on astrological birth traits? If you have, you might tell where this is headed but if not– let me help you out just a little. I’ve mentioned Warrior and my daughter sharing that Gemini sign many times but Vince and I share the Virgo one. No, I don’t go looking up people but happened to come across this information on twitter a few years ago.

All those Happy Birthday wishes for Mr. McMahon and oh, so sweet! Once I realized we both are Virgos, how do you think I reacted? “OMG, I can’t believe it, how super cool!” Nope– not mine at all. I just said to my phone: “I get it.” What does that even mean? I cried a little which sounds weird I know… I understand what it’s like to be a Virgo and while some traits are not me all the time, most are. You can look up your own but just know mine involves stubbornness, a good work ethic, organized, and emotional. The emotion part is not what it seems. WE CARE A LOT.

I’ve read some quotes from Mr. McMahon and he has said the relationships with some of the superstars back in the day was: “never just business for me.” Warrior and him had a very strong personal bond. Virgos like being in control and being right but our heart is out there. I would always blame Vince for everything bad that I didn’t like with um, you know who. After all, “don’t cross the Boss!” Right? He was the obvious target until fans knew more of the story.

Another interesting so-called “fact” is that Virgos and Geminis are a bad mix and don’t get along. Let’s see— I’ve got that girl/girl dynamic with my daughter, Vince and Warrior had the guy/guy dynamic so I guess that leaves me and Warrior with the girl/guy dynamic. We actually share some traits but I can see aspects of clashing too. I have said also that I didn’t always agree with Warrior’s views but never lost respect for him, never… Geminis are stubborn too and put their heart into what they do. Respecting authority was sometimes difficult for Warrior but again– he didn’t have that much in his past which is the WHY. Forget all the “specifics” of what people say about possible opposites. I can clash with my daughter too but we come together when it counts the most.

I do believe and Vince has said this too but he and Warrior were more alike than different. Intellectual yet creative. They fought passionately for what they believed in and I do too. This helped me understand Vince a little more also and not just from a business perspective. My daughter is passionate too and in fact had to look up info several years ago as I became perplexed with her behavior. I needed more and it was very clear to me as to why she reacted the way she did in some situations.

I realize this isn’t for everyone and I don’t follow astrology regularly but it does provide some insight and it did for me. Sure, it can be fun just to see how your day gets played out but don’t get too caught up as it isn’t healthy. At least I don’t think so.

We should always look to the good and not the bad. When most think of those guys in that photo, negative memories will surface. Isn’t that a shame? I actually want to remember the good they did together despite their differences at times. This photo, great memory. Clashing yes– for a while but like I have stated before as well, you gotta get to the WHY and HOW not just the WHAT. Most people don’t. Things are not always what we think or how they seem. To be without emotion means you don’t care and they both did—- so much.

My relationship with Warrior in spirit isn’t one of clashing at all but it’s different energy in that way. We have so much in common and more than I ever thought. Of course it has nothing to do with money, (my book a little!) a character, fame, or any of that but the spiritual heart of him is the same. I am glad he did walk away from WWE actually since the possibility of being away from his family would’ve hurt his spirit more. He proved he could do other things in his life.

Here’s one final note to add: When I was first going thru all this with Warrior in the beginning, I wanted to use one word to describe him. That’s impossible! I was tired of hearing intense, energetic, disciplined, and others. The perfect word popped in my head— ENIGMA.

That was before I had the book where Vince used that word too. I walked away from the page knowing great Virgo minds think alike! Mystique was another great one but enigma is Ultimate!

I have had other moments when something popped in my head before ever looking at the book… “A Life Lived Forever.” I would then read or see things after I had an intuitive moment. My abilities and Warrior energy hard at work! 🤝🤔🤔

P.S. Virgos= earth

Geminis= air

~~~ I think this is perfect since we always need both. 🌎💨
~~~ I know Virgo is a “maiden” but maybe Vince would prefer an Earth reference as “protector” of the WWE!

Happy Undertaker Halloween! 🎃😳☠️👻😈

Happy Halloween Warrior fans! I had planned on using a photo from the June 2, 1991 Body Bag Match between the Ultimate Warrior vs. the Undertaker but then saw these masks! This was a much better choice for me since really, I didn’t want to use that match of Warrior being paralyzed or put in a body bag at the end..😮

Let’s back up a few years with some funny Undertaker moments. I decided to wait until Halloween since well, I think you probably know why! At first, the Undertaker was never a person I would choose to write about as previously mentioned but hey– it’s all good now and they were friends.

A year or so after Warrior passed, my son panicked about not having a current library book to use at school. He had finished his first one and needed another for tomorrow, ugh! Last minute doesn’t work with this Mama… Off to the library we went and started browsing the stacks. Once again, a library moment but I’ll take it.

He was on one end and I wandered off a little next to him. My eyes were intent on finding this series or author he liked but then my gaze turned upward. Right in front of me standing straight up on this shelf was a biography in the kids section of WWE’s Undertaker! That character always brings up bad memories for me but for the first time ever, I smiled and thought of all the library stuff I had seen since Warrior’s passing. Another right place, right time moment.

I did open it up which many years ago would never have given a second look. I took a photo and sent it to my brother with the same caption used frequently back then: “I can’t go anywhere!” It was a funny yet frenzied and unexpected library time.

The next Undertaker moment came after I purchased the “Ultimate Collection” DVD and it has an interesting twist only recently noticed. When I bought the DVD of course it had to be new without any previous views. It had never been opened or watched before so I was set.

Some parts were skipped like you-know-who but also WMVI among a few others I had seen bunches or had on VHS already. The day came when I decided to finally watch those parts just to see it all thru to the end. I got to that match between U.W. and U.T. and about halfway into the “snoozefest” (it really was!) the DVD started skipping. You know what I mean right? That happens after a while when you watch something over and over but this was new!

Somebody up there knows my feelings about U.T. so– come to your own conclusion… 🤣 Guess I wasn’t supposed to watch that whole match as it skipped thru most of it. I couldn’t believe this while just laughing so hard to myself. I had never even watched that before, ever… Those electronic devices sure are tricky! Very little times would anyone catch me watching that match or even the Funeral Parlor before it on the DVD. I do love Randy and Roddy’s commentary since they save me! 😜😬

So, let’s move ahead to now and just a few weeks ago. Decided to see if indeed the “skipping part” was still there but before I even got to the match– the Funeral Parlor part was skipping! ⚰️ Whaaat??? I barely have watched that but hey, fine by me! I did go ahead to the match and it wasn’t skipping at all. Now, it’s the Parlor’s turn, hmm…. Remember the “Lights on, Lights off” post relating to Undertaker? Could these both have some funny Warrior energy attached to them? It sure makes me laugh since he knows my stories now.

Going back to early October, my husband, daughter, and I were at the Halloween store. I saw these U.T. masks. Your thoughts really do manifest sometimes. I was actually thinking of my next blog post while there… Um, why??? I didn’t want to use a match photo and then I saw the masks! Problem solved yet again. When I went to put one back after looking at it, the plastic hook broke– figures….

Have a FUN yet SOOOKY Halloween, maybe I’ll see someone with an Undertaker mask on! Just no hearing GONG music… 🙄💩

P.S. Nothing else has ever skipped on the DVD, ever.., 😱

P.P.S. SO EXCITED to share the link for my RADIO show interview with Kate Delaney of America Tonight! You need to scroll down to October 10th, hour 2. I am at the 27:11 mark, 12 min. long.

Conquer Those Firsts Warriors!

Those things we do for the first time can be very daunting and there are many reasons as to why. I bet you can list many firsts in your life and remember how they made you feel. Sometimes it might not turn out the way you’d hoped but at least you can say: “I did it!”

Of course my life has also been made up of many firsts but this always connects to Warrior so where do I start? First, he taught me to become a leader. He was and still is one but now I am in my own way. Warrior said to: “Inspire people, don’t instruct people!” Very true for me. We should all think like that for others. Never did I imagine that role within this life of mine but it exists and I am doing it!

Next, I mentioned 4.5 years last week (technically it was Monday) BUT 4 years ago was my Box experience. That wasn’t a first for me with a psychic sense but a first with Warrior. I am glad it wasn’t the start of my gifts opening since I knew the signs which made it so much easier. Check out that story blogged here archived as: The Box” ~~6/16/17 (his bday) and in my book!

I just celebrated the first anniversary of my book Spirit and Belief being released. Hard to believe an entire year has flown by… Thank you to anyone who has become inspired with my stories of Warrior. Another first is my radio interview in just a few hours so whew!

Firsts can be hard but hopefully you can look back on yours and believe they were and are worth it. Whether or not many agree with some of Warrior’s firsts, the man had guts to do them anyway. It is different of course being on T.V. with all the other factors of ratings, fans, popularity, and so on. That’s all true and sometimes there are compromises. I firmly believe Warrior’s decisions were based on how he viewed the character while also constantly being challenged.

To step up and conquer those firsts no matter how big or small is always what we need to do so our lives move forward. WMVI had plenty of those so I hope you do too. Probably not in the same way but do those firsts you need to succeed.

Any type of first will boost your confidence so the next one becomes easier. Never regret doing them since it always is a learning experience. The how maybe can be questioned later but at least you conquered a first so take pride in that!

Do those firsts for the right reasons that you believe in. Don’t listen to others who say you’re crazy or can’t. I bet deep down you’d feel crazy for not proving you can. Do those firsts to better your life and not just to win a popularity contest. Shake those ropes and wear those arm tassels proudly! Just because nobody else has or hasn’t already, doesn’t mean it won’t become a first for you. If you conquer the fear, you conquer the first. Your spirit will thank you…

Think back to your baby book if you ever had one or made them for your kids. All those firsts are in there from the start. You can have a grown up book or journal with all your adult firsts too. Make that list to motivate you and keep adding those firsts.

Look at all the firsts Dana has had to do and yet she continues on since the warrior woman in her thrives. Even if you fall flat on your face, you can laugh and say: “First time for everything!” I still am in awe with all my firsts on this journey of mine. Not only writing but now speaking has become a first. I could never have done any of this, not ANY of it without Warrior.

I thought about listing all his firsts but didn’t want to be a google of information since you can all check that stuff out anytime. Hopefully, your good firsts outweigh the bad and my wish is that others will remember the GOOD firsts of Warrior and the messages behind them all. They all count, in or out of the ring.

Well, I’m off to prepare for this first of a radio interview and can’t wait to tell you all about it soon! Conquer your firsts warriors and OWN them so you can look back and say: “I did it!”

“Fear is an Aberration!”

“Fear, fear is an aberration.

Fear is the air that cowards breathe.

Fear is the first taste of defeat.

The Warrior only breathes the air of the brave and the Warrior only feasts on the fruit of VICTORY!”

~~~ The Ultimate Warrior
~~~11/25/89 (before his SNME match against Andre the Giant)

Such powerful words as always from the Ultimate Warrior and I have made this part of my meditation everyday. Maybe that sounds crazy to some but us warriors have a little bit of crazy in us for sure! 😜 Are you fearful or fearless? I used to say it depended on the situation but now I choose the latter.

The most important thing to remember with the word FEAR is that it has no power over you. Also, do not compare yourself to others as I always did. I used to think nobody would believe my “fearful” situations but just chalk them up as silly. Everyone else’s were much more important or dramatic than mine.

That was an incredibly tough mindset to get out of. So very tough. Our past really does affect our future whether we believe that or not. Even though some of my life stories weren’t as drama filled as others, I don’t shy away from them now and in fact I defend them. They make us who we are and form us into the people we become. Not everyone is a “risk-taker” or outgoing but that doesn’t mean you are fearful.

Sometimes, we hit our stride later but everything is in perfect timing. I always did stuff that wasn’t with the “norm” (like Warrior in a way) but was it considered fearless? Probably not. That used to bother me SO much but now, not at all. People’s definitions of some words are never the same and they place labels or their own experiences over everything. Comparing can become such a nasty habit and some people never outgrow it. Don’t be one of those people and I hope as warriors, you are not.

Warrior’s passing has brought me into the most fearless I have ever been. My humility makes this so hard to write but it is very true. There are things I never even dreamed or imagined doing and did fear dominate? NO! Well, I must admit in the beginning it did just a little. I’ve evolved so much since then. I look at Dana and just marvel at her accomplishments. To think she describes herself as introverted shocks me. I know she also never imagined this life without Warrior. She is fearless in her own right but he would’ve wanted that for her.

I am also certain people I know could never have guessed how my life would change with his passing. I have a few other opportunities on the horizon and can’t wait to share more details soon! Be your OWN fearless warrior with whatever projects are in the works for you. Keep those dreams active and abolish fear.

What is holding you back? Let me guess… Judgments, resources, time, finances, unworthiness, laziness, losing your “comfort zone,” and am predicting others. I definitely have had some of this on my journey. Listen to that intuition like I have said before but life is always a balancing act. Head versus heart every single day. Who wins? Such a hard one depending on your circumstance. We should follow the “do what feels good or right for you” saying but not at the expense of becoming penniless or a victim. Did Warrior listen to fear or follow his intuition? I think we all know that answer as we must do the same.

Think of all the areas in your life where fear dominates. Possibly try narrowing down that list and conquer a few. I can say to dive right in but realistically some cannot. Literally speaking, I never did learn how to dive! LOL!!

Be able to look back on your life and say how fearless you were or how you evolved. You will never regret kicking fear to the curb or pinning it to the mat. Replace fear with a victorious NEW word of fearlessness. Learn it. Know it. OWN it. Always believe it. You can also make fear an aberration. Warrior did. Dana did. I am and you can too. 💖💪🏻👍

Bittersweet Milestones

Do you celebrate milestones? Some I do but always remember them all, good or bad– small and big. Many Warrior fans recently remembered the good (or should I say great?!) milestone of 30 years ago at #Summerslam 1988 when the Ultimate Warrior pinned the Honky Tonk Man for the Intercontinental Title. I can’t believe I was almost 16 then which is how old Mattigan Warrior will be later this year.

The Ultimate Warrior character made his television debut 30 years ago last year and did I celebrate? No, but I sure remembered. Another “fond” memory of mine personally was remembering 25 years ago last year of a Saturday Night’s Main Event match with the Ultimate Maniacs vs. Money Inc. for the tag team belts. That story is in my book Spirit and Belief (in a way) and part of that day I will always keep to myself– sorry! 😂😳😬 #Summerslam 1992 between the Ultimate Warrior and “Macho Man” Randy Savage was also 25 years ago last year and also part of my book in the “Dreams” chapter.

Let’s look ahead a little. Very soon I will have 100 posts on this blog and that number astounds me. THANK YOU always to everyone reading and sharing. It truly means the world to me. It also has reached over 30+ countries and 6 continents. (There’s those numbers again!) I am so glad to be impacting the world with my voice and message. Hopefully, I’ve inspired some of you to do the same.

Next year of 2019 brings so many milestones and several involve the Warrior family. Warrior and Dana would’ve been married 20 years, Warrior will be gone then for 5, Indiana I believe will be graduating high school, and Warrior would’ve been turning 60. *** I needed to pause but am back now.*** Will they be celebrating and remembering these bittersweet milestones? That is up to Dana and her girls but perhaps she will share some of this with us fans. Their privacy is to be respected but I will reflect on these as well with much emotion.

My husband and I will celebrate 20 years since we first met in 2019 and that number is so staggering. Sometimes, time does really feel that long as the date implies but sometimes it’s the blink of an eye. Warrior’s passing seems to be both with me especially considering all that has happened since then. A photograph, video, or even a book can transport you right back in that moment as if nothing ever changed.

Think of how you are now and how far you’ve come. I know this is true for me as I hope you feel the same. Nostalgia brings many feelings but we need to live in the now. Warrior even said to do this everyday.

Let’s talk #Wrestlemania! Can you believe 35 is next year? I still remember the first one when my brother and I were brimming with excitement. I don’t watch now but certainly know all the details. In 2 years, WM6 will be turning 30. That number sure is popular in today’s blog! That was also the year I graduated high school so for all you newbies- no, I wasn’t 6,7, 8, etc. when Warrior WON!!! Warrior’s return in 2014 was also (yes, we all know) WM30 weekend. Maybe I should’ve included that number with this title…🤔😉

Milestones will forever be there in our lives waiting for us to celebrate, remember, or both. I could’ve included lots more but these main ones made the cut on my list. Oh, one more is that I have a high schooler this year. Still getting used to that and will be for a while am sure. 😯

Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, deaths, graduations, reunions, and any other events in your lives should always be reflected upon with whatever way suits you. No one should force you to plan or attend anything that isn’t in your heart but there are some exceptions. I remember Dana saying that she and her girls do remember the bad along with the good. It is all your life and should be acknowledged but is up to you to determine how.

Warrior even mentioned he and Dana’s 13th wedding anniversary in a video and that number isn’t a milestone at all. His family growing up celebrated very little but she did. Small things can be celebrated too and should not be taken for granted. To think I have a connection with that number and him is humbling to me. She expressed on her podcast #TotalWarriors how their family loves the number 13. It has been a part of my journey with Warrior also. My post “Lights on, Lights off” is a clue but the rest can be another story!

Keep the bittersweet milestones close to your heart and remember always if not celebrating. I know I will but those great ones are worth the most. (SS ’88, WM6, WM30 HOF)

P.S. I have exciting news to share as details are coming together but great things for my ‘lil book Spirit and Belief! Stay tuned!!

“STAND OUT, STAND UP, DELIVER”

Do you warriors know this? Such a slogan and yet is it something we practice in our lives everyday? Warrior certainly did and you can bet he expects that still from us today. I think back on my life years ago and must admit this was not something I did if ever. Sure, there were times I felt different than others and even acted on my own terms but not as dramatic as his words. Standing out? Maybe a little. Standing up? Heck no until I got more courage. Deliver? That involves much more like acting on a decision or following through. Very tough to do.

If Warrior never shook those ropes, worn those arm tassels, or even ran to the ring, would his character have stood out? Maybe but not in the way he wanted and certainly not in the ways us fans always remember. He didn’t listen to naysayers and believed in how to deliver.

He applied all that as well with his personal life and how he wanted to stand out, up, and deliver. Much respect to anyone with enough courage expressing what they know to be true. Your attitude makes all the difference.

Nowadays, I am much better at all of these things but like you, I falter and stumble somewhat. Think of all the things in your life that you “stand up” for. They can be big or small. Maybe you advocate a certain belief or opinion. Perhaps even defending a friend or caring for an animal. To stand up for yourself is THE most important of all.

For me, to “stand out” was always much easier. It is a challenge in many cases but perhaps I exhibited more confidence than I ever thought. I have said many times to not be a “robot” or “clone” and it just always came naturally for me being myself. It’s different for everyone but I never stood out to spite anyone or wanted my claim to fame. I do it because it’s in my blood as a warrior and has always been. I truly believe that to be one of the MANY reasons we work so well together– with him in spirit of course!

This whole deliver thing is the trickiest of all. It’s like when the one count is easy, the two count comes, but that three count sometimes misses the mat. We want to deliver to get the pin but foreign objects fall on our path.

Taking action on what you deliver and how needs to be planned for it to become successful in your life. If I never would’ve had the guts to stand up and confront a teacher who gave me a bad grade on a paper, I couldn’t see that better grade so deserving of my hard work. BTW~~~ this was happening around the same time as #WM6 so can you imagine my emotions??? 😳😬😉

If I never believed myself to stand out, delivering this blog and eventual book Spirit and Belief couldn’t have happened. It is our birthright like Warrior said to do these things without settling for normalcy or mediocrity.

I love the “normal” sometimes but without the delivery of us to stand out and up, it becomes boring and very mundane. Ask yourself what needs to change in your life for you to feel good. Warrior always preached about our lives not just being the 9 to 5 “jobs” but ones which involve creativity that surpasses the “norm.” If you struggle with this, think of activities that really fill you up. Not your office, co-workers, business meetings, or any of that! What inspires you to REALLY stand out, up, and deliver?

My list is quite large and yes, I do make the time. Reading, writing,(of course!) being with my family, swimming, biking, fitness, music, meditation, nature, and it goes on. Think of your list. What comes to mind? 🤔 Even Warrior had other interests besides his paid livelihood.

I am still figuring it out all the time but once that little girl grew into her voice, there was no turning back for me. The delivery part really needs more work but I am doing it everyday. Warrior said: “Do the work” and I have referenced that many times. Your life is different than anyone else’s but in the end, the business deadlines will mean nothing compared to your spirit with no deadlines.

Start now with whatever works for you and by being true to yourself, you’ll get noticed. This blog continues to amaze me and yes, I want to sell the books too but… 📚 there’s that delivery again. I am doing what I love by being different without normalcy and that’s the heart of a Warrior.

Can you honestly ask yourself if standing out, up, and delivering is in your birthright? I can and you know what? IT IS!!! Be that voice and person you know is inside and f’ing get rid of mediocrity. Warrior would say something else but am sure I can’t print it here!

Warrior Book Event

Last week, I had the pleasure of sharing my book Spirit and Belief at beautiful Namaste Life Center. Theresa had it all so wonderfully inviting as I walked into that back room feeling so overwhelmed and humbled. Immediately, I felt at home and welcomed. Despite those in attendance being few, all listened, contributed, and supported me on my journey.

One woman related her time spent working at the restaurant in the old Richfield Coliseum here in Ohio and a wrestler she encountered. She asked me to describe the Ultimate Warrior and the years he was in the business. That was a great memory for me to describe! A wrestler with short hair (probably not Warrior, lol!) left a “script” for her as a gift! Wow, how exciting and fun getting that. Too bad she lost it after keeping it almost thirty years….. 😕

Another woman told me to “never doubt myself” as I don’t yet always am humbled while my lightheadedness began. Don’t worry since that’s a good sign of mine! She also said the hair on the back of her head was standing up as I was speaking. I asked if that was common for her and she truly believed Warrior was present. ❤️ I was filled with such gratitude once again.

The owner commented after I briefly shared the Cavs/Warrior basketball stories in my book. As most of you might know, numbers and dates are huge with me. I discussed June 16th being Warrior’s birthday and she interrupted. To summarize, as a child she was deeply affected by the movie Brian’s Song while crying buckets for a long time. She never forgot that and decided with her abilities to finally sign up for www.ancestry.com After much research, she found out Brian Piccolo whose life the movie is based upon, was a seventh cousin of hers. Yes, that’s quite far back but STILL a huge deal to be connected. Brian Piccolo died on June 16th, just sayin’… Who knows with Warrior but I will forever wonder.

It was such a great afternoon just hanging with these beautiful spiritual people and sharing our experiences together. They came to listen to me without judgment or disbelief. I got asked questions about meditation and what techniques work best. I felt so honored sharing what works for me. I have an entire blog post on www.spiritandbelief.com and a YouTube video on meditation so hopefully, she’ll get some ideas!

I was always so inspired with Warrior’s teachings and now others are inspired by mine. I never would’ve even guessed that about myself but am owning my stories with pride. Some have even had many more spiritual experiences than mine and I did get asked if I ever was scared. My answer was no based on my signs and trust. I gotta say though if I had something more extreme, that could change! Intimidated–sometimes but fearful, never.

It felt so natural speaking to these people while injecting my humor too! I mentioned Dana, Steve, and other newer experiences blogged about but not in the book. Can’t wait to possibly plan another event there as the energy was so positive with these like-minded people.

We can be inspired but then need to be the inspiration as Warrior has said. Just the other day, I ran into an old friend who I had lost touch with. After a few years of just connecting on Facebook, the hair salon brought us back together. We chatted in-between highlights as she proceeded to tell me how I always inspired her. Who, me? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. We always did sit together at PTA meetings but no idea of her admiration for me.

Some of our “situations” always connected us but she had been thinking of me lately. She even coined a new phrase: ” What would Kathy do?” I felt dazed yet so guided as my confidence inspires her. Wow… Talk about a Warrior Woman moment. She brought up past memories when I followed the beat of my own drum and did things my way. Why yes, I still do that but to be told of your influence doesn’t happen often– at least not to me. We will stay in touch as I admire her tenacity to juggle so much in her life all the time.

Be inspired but also be the inspiration even if you don’t think you can or are. Little moments surprise us but then the big planned ones can too. I had a big planned event and then an unexpected one that both overtook me with such joy. As I am looking up outside, I see a dragonfly. Oh, and those blue jay feathers keep coming just about everyday. It’s beautiful and humorous all at once. There’s that inspiration yet again warriors…….
